Typically, its something along the lines of "I have a life and friends and such, so I use cheats/hacks/bots so I can stay on the same level as those no lives who spend all their time playing Game X".
And if it was a case of someone made an account on that site to try and slander me, no worries. I was at the store when that went down and am actually a tiny bit flattered that someone would try and go to that length over a nobody like me. Closest is I was a member of the GSCCC(GameShark Code Creators Club, now GameCode) back when the original Playstation was my gaming thing of choice and the Gameshark satisfied my cheating needs.

This is my favorite time of the week, sitting on my computer on the forums watching a new wave of VAC bans, and reading the hackers plead to have their account back because "I promise I will never cheat again and I just want to play the game! HONEST!" XD
You know if people were actually serious about not cheating and wanting to get unbanned, you'd think that the least they could do is actually write out a thought-out post explaining absolutely everything that could have happened or even providing evidence etc.
A two sentence post that says "Unban me plz Garry" will get you nowhere.

Granted $20 isn't a lot of money to some people, but aside from being "cool" or as I said "because its the only way to compete with the no life people who play", why bother throwing the money away on the game and cheats? Its a commercial game(that happens to be in Alpha), not some F2P MMO with an incompetent staff that will buy a "virus/malware/family member did it" excuse.
And the whole spiel of people pleading their case here reeks of the old timey tactic of trying to turn the forum base against the publisher. Back in the old early days of IRO it was a very common occurrence to have people who were permabanned from the game try to plead innocent in a way that they tried to get the forum behind them so the company would HAVE to unblock them, otherwise people would leave over such an injustice. Too bad for them Facepunch isn't the US branch of a Korean MMO company and that kind of shit tactics don't fly.

It's weird to me no one is questioning a hack account for Minecraft of all things.
That game is so absurdly droll without mods as it is, why would you need hacks? What the heck could you possibly need to hack? Are the nondescript spiders just too stronk?
I mean at least say you made it for like, Dark Souls or something. I'd still look down on you, but at least there's a ton of people who have trouble with that game.
Iwon't say he was/wasn't cheating... but anyone can log onto a cheatpage and make an account in the op name and claim it's his/hers... it's kinda easy to say "look proof" by that...

falsr one will be lifted when valve goes through alse positives... if the ban is valid it will stay... no use coming on fp and cry about it... or thread more about it.
