I am guessing where just left in the dark. It seems that steam perhaps is not updating the server or reverse that the player is perhaps connected?

Definitely not a IP related issue as I tried my tunnel.

Several others I play with too cant get on (central 4)

Hi,

I'm looking to find a solution for my similiar problem. I'm actualy playing on a community server, all my friends can login, but not me. They experienced the same problem today, but now is ok, unfortunately not for me.

I've read this topic and seems to be a problem with the Steam Auth and restarting server should solve? I don't have contact with this server admin.

I can play in another servers, but not this specific one.

I'm going crazy, hahaha

Edit : problem is fixed with the update.

I'm going to see what I can do, but it seems like 99% of users can get into the servers no problem now. I can't help you if you're trying to join servers that have not been reset, I can only vouch for the official servers (minus uk ones, which dont have a problem thus far)

Is there anyway the devs and the admins communicate like a sub forum or anything ? If so would it be possible to get them to reset asap? or do we just have to wait it out

As of right now people have the issue with official servers too so there really does not seem to be any communication effort. It seems some in this thread lucked out with a few restarts of the game service but from my investigation most of this occurred around the same time and effects all.

Well the central server folks are waiting in the dark with not word on when we can expect equal treatment as above.

In all cases multiple users reporting same issue, all started yesterday. There are other non descript threads about connecting where people post a lack of information.

If a large portion of people are having this issue on the forums then alot of others are too, most people will not sign up or post on forum, or know how to find it.

I know what causes it(at least for me), when you die and respawn a few times by hitting suicide sometimes it kills you but leaves you alive (if you suicide a few times too quick), i.e. you lie on the floor not being able to do anything, with your camera as if you just suicided (sideways). You can't suicide again either, you need to net.disconnect, then when you try to net.reconnect it puts your game in the bug where you keep getting the error. This way has happened to me twice so far.

last night i had this problem for about an hour on official us east coast 3 (large) server... restarting the server fixed this problem but having the same problem again today... but today also getting another problem sometimes server list doesn't show up... at the bottom where it usually shows server loading and people playing.. and some % number (can't remember what it is) i now have ... and no list of servers come up.

I am having this issue. I am unable to connect to servers. The first error occurred referencing "limbo", after that the errors have been auth errors.

i forgot to mention i also get this limbo error before getting the auth failure.. then now no servers show up....

How long you think until you fixed been trying to connect for 15 minutes now and haven't got anywhere. Can you also just not disable it until you fix the problem?

Seems to be an authentication issue regarding either steam or the games own authentication system if it has one. I have no idea how any of them work.

However, more and more people seem to be affected by it.

I haven't been able to join east coast 1 all morning, although other people have no problem. I can join any server I haven't already played on for a decent amount of time just fine. So it has to do with authenticating certain players for some specific reasons I think. But I'm gonna try deleting my steam config folder and restarting steam to see if it lets me connect.

Edit: No help at all. It's not anything client side causing it.

so i'm no tech guy.... but i'm wondering, last night after you restarted the server it i got in no problem then after logging out and trying to go back in today its saying authfailure. could it be that my authentication key is somehow still active in the game and when i try and go in again it may be failing because it's already reading that i am game?

True, I also can't only join in server I've played in a fair amount of time already. So yeah, probably an auth fail for specific reasons... playtime? hell if i know.

Servers i've never been into, however, work fine and dandy.

But, we found a common variable, so we got that going for us which is nice. Helk will probably see this in a while, might help I guess.

i don't think it's based on playtime as i get this with other servers i havn't been on. not all of them but some of them

I also use the Egine which do you use here (I mention the names not now), with many Community Software I have exactly the same trouble when it comes to the Indetifikation by the player. for me the errors are often either because the line between Steam and my software is loaded, or because the search does its uses (the same I use also) is overloaded and community software it no longer hinkriegt be presented to the players. I will resolve it always where I a Quick Connect button would add to my game where people can enter the IP and I solely use the community authentication. Well maybe it helps. I have often helped it in the Egine :)

I must say I start the server every 9 hours automtatishc new and despite my players have problems to error.I have some players but not come for 6 days on my server to other and they report that they come up on many, then no other again and then again. So it can not be due to Steam itself. Because if it was up to the Steam Indetifizierung then you would not come on garkein server and not only to a specific

I think it's a mistake somewhere in the login algorithm, perhaps? A small update to improve?
