So, I got VAC Banned today. Yes, I did use a hack. However, instead of being just banned from the server I was on, my own server, I am banned from every single server. Official ones, community ones, everything. Basically, I wasted $20. I feel that VAC should only be used on official servers. Let the admins on their own servers deal with the hackers on their own servers. Hell, I was on my own when I tested the hack. Nobody else was on, it effected nobody (also the hack didn't even work, sooo yeah, bs). So not only did I waste money on the game, but also on a server. Hopefully these bans get reset when the beta or full release comes, i'd rather not have to buy the game again on another account. Or maybe i'll just go play on cracked servers. Also will this effect me on all games with VAC? If so, that's completely more bs than this was. Also is there a way I can get my $20 back through steam?

yeah and they'd be doing it nonstop lol. not to mention the second they'd go to sleep the server would be ruined, since not every server out there can manage to find a fuck ton of trustworthy admins. everyone was warned what would happen, it's your own dumb fault if you didn't listen.

There's a giant YOU WILL BE VAC BANNED warning, every time you play the game. How could you possibly think that wouldn't apply to server admins?
Also, if you were the actual server owner/admin you could have just given yourself whatever you wanted. You wouldn't have even needed hacks.

Well yeah no shit lol. the few people silly enough to try out cheats after being expressly warned not to and told time and time again what would happen usually end up being the people dumb enough to think they can get away with saying anything. You've no idea the amount of little kids we've had the last few weeks trying to lie their way out of vac bans.

I bought it weeks ago. Play it a little here and there mainly to see if it ever got good or not. Tested the hack as that makes most unenjoyable games enjoyable but it didn't even work. The logic is, you wasted money in the first place, might as well make it worth it.

but the game is months away from being close to finished, why not just wait until it makes progress in a few months and maybe have a blast then instead of throwing $20 down the toilet?? of course a game in early alpha isnt going to be as good as it can be yet lol

24 hours a day? What happens when they go offline, to go see a movie or to work, and they come back and hackers ravaged their server and half or more of their population is gone? Please. Just don't hack and we won't have to waste our lives preventing only hackers instead of creating and monitoring our servers.
VAC is a very straightforward thing. You in any way shape or form introduce foreign hacks into the game environment and you can pretty damn well be sure you won't be playing the game anymore. I really have yet to see any reason provided by you, as to WHY you shouldn't have been banned.
Whether or not you are a server admin, you hacked the game, just because you have admin on a single server doesn't allow you to bypass VAC, if so you could easily join your own server, then swap to anyone else' while the hack is still running, it wouldn't make sense.
Not to mention your lovely downplay of how much you care about the ban is pretty humorous considering you took the time out of your day to post this thread, as well as continue arguing your logic-defying stance of thinking you should be allowed on any sort of public game server, Rust or not.
Hacks aren't 'fun' or 'cool', they intend to break a game, and a game in alpha breaks itself enough as it already is.
