If you guys are genuinely expecting 7-day-a-week prompt support for an alpha game, you need to think about what you're doing for a moment.
$20? Heeeey, big spender...
I would just like to know if they're working on it, that would be nice. and yes, if i pay money for something i expect customer support. It doesn't have to be prompt, but 4 days is a stretch especially since it's a bug affecting a lot of customers.
instead of e-mailing all of us individually they could just put up a quick twitter update or something on the rust site. wouldn't take much effort at all.

haha yeah all i ask is can we expect a fix with the next patch? is it going to take days, weeks, months?
if the latter i won't waste my time with this game, no worries, but not hearing anything at all sucks.
FP is usually good about getting fixes out in a patch or two. Some bugs are more persistent and buried than others. I'm not a dev so I don't have any idea how difficult this is going to be to fix, but I expect it'll be one of the things the devs focus on this week. If they come across a potential fix, it'll be run on the development servers first, and the development branch is free for anyone to opt into, so you'll be able to test it immediately and, if it works, get your fix in that way.
I assure you, if this is happening to enough people, it's a showstopper, and that'll be considered with reasonably high priority by the devs. They care about your experience and hate it when a number of people run into the same bug that makes Rust shit the bed. They're good people. However, they also get to have days off like normal people.

I am under the impression they aren't aware of it at the moment because of how little the amount of people using 32 bit / mac is and the fact they can just disable checksum checking (which they turned on last patch) till they fix it.
Except if you just disable something you won't get the testing data you need to fix it.
I get the feeling that your expectations are entirely too high for an alpha.
I too have the same issue. I run a 32bit system, but sadly unlike others that have reported they are able to still play be it on the new Hapis Island or on officially servers etc.
I however cannot join any server regardless of the map type or server type, official or not.
Granted I do not expect alpha games to not be riddled with various bugs problems or issues, that’s implied by the nature of an alpha or early access game but when faced with a bug that breaks your game and prevents you from playing at all when previously you were able too before in this case “check-sum” was enabled then it’s worth letting others know.
Now in addition my computer by no means is a “performance machine” I am very much aware of that and being on a 32bit system alone normally states that. However that does not justify in any such shape or form to be treated as a second class citizen and feel as tho those who are affected by “check-sum” being enabled should be treated no better then a hacker who gets banned, but to add insult to injury you either feel forgotten about or possible ignored due to a lack of consideration or possibly numbers.
Now we all paid $20 for the game regardless if one is on 64bit or 32bit system or if you have a beast of a computer or something that runs on coal. We should all be able to play it. Not just play it fine one day and the next unable to and not given a reason to why or if you will be able to again. It’s not about the money but the principal in the matter.
So I do not believe it’s out of the question to at-least informer or make a statement to the community about this problem and how it is being addressed.
Because if one does not address an issue such as this officially, then that shows a lack of professionalism and pride in ones work and company which in turn as a supporter leans one to lose faith in the development of the game.
Yes this was allot to write and for one to read, but again if I could play rust even if only “minimal” I wouldn’t be here making this post.
However I decided to not just post this here but contact and post this on multiple forums concerning this matter. As well as other game medias now do those media consider this worth there time who knows? Most likely not, but it is of no real consequence because if I can prevent that one gamer or person who was on the fence about buying into this alpha or any alpha and decides against it because of this issue or issues like it then I say “good” for what I and others have experienced has not been wasted then I’ve done my part as a consumer because professionalism should always be kept to the highest standard in an industry both from a product aspect but more importantly to the community that supports it or once did be it by $1 or $100 or by word and mouth alone.
long story short? it's being addressed by regular and active development. personally i would rather they spent all their time sorting things rather than telling us every hour what they are doing RIGHT NOW.

It's been an hour, can we get an update?

Everyone uses these problems with the game and blames it on the game being alpha. The game has been in alpha long enough for it to feel like the real released game to people. I'm sorry if you think hundreds of us are asking to much to be able to connect to the game like really?

I'm sorry that you have lost sight of realistic expectations. The game is in active development, and that means that it is still a work in progress and has a lot of work left to go into it. The fact that you feel like you're playing a finished game is your own problem.
Why do devs have to pull all testing of Hapis Island because under 5% of active players are temporarily inconvenienced? How are they supposed to gather testing data to determine what the difference is between the two maps that are causing a small number of people from connecting?
Simply put, why is such a tiny minority so special when you know the damn thing is under active development? Why do you get to dictate the devs' agenda?
Yeah, I get that it sucks and you're frustrated. It'd be awesome if this bug didn't even happen, and it'll be great if it gets fixed quickly, but wow, it's only a game. Nobody's depriving you of food.
Game still broken.
Guys I have been doing a lot of research on this topic for many days. I have also been posting about it on different websites and forums to try and find solutions. It seems I have come across something that may work or not, I'm not able to try this out for myself since it's more of a windows ability. But follow these instructions.
1: Right-click Rust in your steam library and select Delete Local Content
2: Exit Steam and launch again as administrator
3: Re-install Rust
If this does work... Thank the guy below!

Also, If someone could help me! This is what it exactly says when I try to join a procedural map server.
Error Dump Disconnected - Checksum does not match

If anyone understands what is happening above can you please inform me ASAP!

Now I tried following the above links instructions but when I joined the "London development server" instead of getting "check-sum" error I was stuck on "Loading terrain textures" for 15mins and nothing further happening, also note: I could hear a Audio Static happen through my headphones just before it switched over to"Loading terrain textures" this static happens each time i attempt to join a server mite not mean anything but figured i would mention it.
I wanted to know is anyone else having this issue also I run 32 bit windows and have not been able to join any server since the last Dev update?
then i switched back to stable version/beta opt out and tried another server and got "check-sum".
Good news folks, Andre who is dealing with the situation has announced to me on twitter that they will disable the checksum verification in the next update which is this week on Friday. Problem somewhat solved, thank https://twitter.com/andererandre and everyone else involved.

Problem not solved at ALL. Problem shelved because of complaints, more like it.
You can't say "problem solved" when they're just turning it back off. "Problem solved" would be them finding why the checksum problem happens and fixing it. However, they may have decided it's not worth the hassles at the moment.
If they don't need it, though, disabling it should fix the situation for the people in this thread having the checksum mismatches, and that'll be good.

Fortunately it is only being shelved for a month or so.
Will temporarily disable checksum verification in next update since any proper fix will have to be part of a wiping update. This means we'll give it another try next month or so.
