Non-English on UK Servers - Rust

Hi, Would it be possible to have servers where we can ban non-English chat spam? I am getting fed up with the Russian invasion on the UK servers, If I wanted to play in Russia I would go to their servers, rest can fuck off. Completely ruins the game, with this foreigner scum.

Russians seem to play everywhere BUT their own servers

I don't care where they play, as long as they talk in the language the server is dedicated for... I don't enjoy looking at Russian characters all day long. [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] We should have servers where anyone trying to talk in a non-English language gets banned.

This has to do with people refusing to communicate in a way that everyone can understand. Not necessarily Russians but they do seem to have the habit of spamming chat with Cyrillic letters.... The server I play on recently banned a couple because either refused to speak English or they were cheating (I don't know which but at the moment it's nice and quiet.... ^^)

You can do nothing. I've encountered many players like this. some can cooperate, some just FU up. Played with koreans, I told them to chat in English, they said " oh sorry engrish very hard ". Played with indonesians, they said " FU, we paid $20 to do whatever we want, go F your mother until she get rusted " p.s : not forget to mention that the indonesian player actually bought 3 copy of rust for his 3 different accounts. 1 for hacking/dupe, 1 for the middleman of transferring duped stuff, and the last one for the innocent guy that can have all the duped items without getting into any trouble. :downs: still happy inside :downs:

The problem is that nobody understands what the hell everyone else is saying if they keep talking in their native language.... I'm a Russian who has been playing on the UK server for a while. And yes, sometimes I write something in my native language. The reseans I do this are following: There is only chat in the game. There is nobody intrested in English in this country. There is NO official Russian server. And the last one has been written upper: FU, we paid $20 to do whatever we want, go F your mother until she get rusted P.S. I'm sorry for my bad English.

They sure as hell aren't Facepunch-run official servers. There aren't good whitelisting controls in vanilla Rust yet, but there are already functioning whitelist mods. Do some research before you try and look smart on the internet, fool.

You can have your own private server right now if you want. You just have to pay for it. Pointing to that article just shows me either you have no idea what you're talking about or you simply refuse to take the solutions available and instead just want to bitch and whine on the forums. And people do post on here in other languages, and usually those threads get closed unless they're a dedicated language thread or forum because that's the forum rules. There is no rule for all of Rust that says English only. If you want to enforce English only, get your own server. And that means paying for it right now. If you don't want to pay for your own server, then [B] shut your face[/B].

This would be an endless discussion, I could twist it around and say that Russian players then should pay for Russian servers. Bottom line is that the invasion ruins the RP aspect of the game, and this is what this thread is all about, having dedicated "RP" servers.

You are the one who wants things to change. Don't make other people change because you want something different, do it yourself. You come across as a miserable person. Honestly.

Nah, I am quite happy. But I have heard I can come off as a "Dick" sometimes. Too many years of mmo's thought me, that it is pointless to be gentle, just rip off the bandage when you want to explain something. If they want to misunderstand something, they will, there is always a way to feel insulted. I rather get a heated argument, then spend months trying to deliver my opinion in a way everyone feels happy.

I somewhat agree there is a problem. It is a few number of official servers. Also it would be nice to start a party chat in game, if developers implemented this. Sometimes it seems to me I play on russian server as nobody writes in english but there is full chat in characters. On other hand the most of people I know don't care about what typing in foreign tongue instead of kids. They want to know everything. Sorry but true.

I don't see the problem. I see people spam in English as well. As someone who is interested in foreign languages, I would be disappointed to see the chat enforce English only under the penalty of a ban. That would be a large turn off for me. Other people speak other languages in the world. It's a fact of life. I really see no problem. If you really want English only, find a community server that feels the same way as you.

The bottom line is, If a server owner only speaks English and you have players on the server speaking a different language, you don't know if they are hacking or duping and so on, Because you don't understand there language. Or what they are saying. As a server owner I have a rule of English only on the server as I don't understand other languages, and the players as well as some russians understand that rule and only speak English. (This is not on a Rust server by the way.) I have also seen members of this forum being banned for not speaking English. In time there will be servers for players of different languages, like there already is, but at this time most servers in the UK are English speaking and players should respect that. Or join a server that allow different languages, where there are admins that allows it. As for the OP post I wouldn't agree to banning them, but to simply ask then to only speak English or join another server that supports there language. Just my point of view. :)
