Only then to have a guy named Scoub come along and steal my base.
How is it even possible to make it so easy for someone to do this?
Scoub was really nasty in chat as well and told me my "mother was a cunt"
I should of used the fucking code thing for the door, but they made it so fucking complicated. Where are the keys?? at least they were easy to use...

And, you're not playing a finished game, you're playing an alpha, and you don't automatically own a building just because you built it. Lol, to be honest, this is the nature of Rust. And like GrymThor says, 20-30 minutes isn't a base, it's a shack! I have spent 2 days building a base before, only to have someone snipe me and steal my keys, then you feel like crying! lol
I once created a huge base without locks and a sleeping bag hidden inside a foundation.
Then I waited.
A guy stole it and filled it with his resources.
I respawned inside the base, destroyed his sleeping bags and took all his stuff.

I did PM them. Cunt is about as offensive to women as you can get, in the US. Some women and men may not mind - but it is like using the most vile, racist term you can think of - for some people in the US. No reason to keep that in a title, other than insisting to leave word that is extremely offensive to some on the forums in a title. Again, I know for some people this word is not offensive. But for others it is really bad. In many parts of the US, this word is [U]only[/U] used to insult and put down women. We don't use it like in the UK.

defo needs to be some type of land protection system in place, otherwise what is the point in even building a base? you might as well have a 1X1 then if you get attack you have not really lost much

to the OP, build a better base somewhere hidden, theres lots of places in legacy to do so, and if its experimental, then build a base and dont log out until you have made it secure.

I must be tired, wanted to Rate "Disagree" but I hit "Dumb". I don't see the need for "protection" like you mention, that would make the game too easy imho. Securing, watching over and defending your base is part of the survival, atleast that's how I see it.

And, on the short term, I'm okay with this, so long as it doesn't turn into another thing that the community latches onto and then can't imagine the game not having it, like keycode locks.

I think a simple solution would be to have tools wear out and players take fatigue. It should be impossible within a 24 hour period to break down a stone wall with a hand tool.

That's really the annoying part: I think raiding is a perfectly normal gaming phenomenon, but when I'm at work and can only put in a couple hours in the evening (which is fairly significant in the context of an adult life) but I know when I login the next day, there's a good chance those hours we're wasted because some guy with a stone hatchet left a weight on his left mouse button for an hour while he jerked off to anime.
