@Nightblade91, @ShadowPanda, @SexyBigMaMa: It seems that we never got a connection from your game clients to the backend. Are you starting the game from Steam directly? Also are you using 'family sharing' option in Steam for Rust, i.e. are you playing on the account that owns the game or some other account?
@Digitalshift: Those files are fine, you have all of the needed files. Could you try uninstalling EAC and then starting Rust Experimental again from Steam? You can cleanup EAC files by running the installer, but instead of "install" use "uninstall" as described here: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1410395&p=45426856&viewfull=1#post45426856
I'm playing rust through family sharing, is that why its not working?
Thanks for letting us know about the family sharing!
As a temporary work-around, please play Rust on your main account and it will work. I will test the family sharing feature and fix this issue, and then let you know here once it has been solved and you can play through family sharing again.

Glad to help and thank you. :)

Thank you, currently playing on my wife's steam and it's working flawlessly. Glad to contribute to the progress as well ^_^
yupyupyup I'm having the same problem which is fixed by switching to the main account. Looks like this is a legit bug, but I'm not sure if the fault is with steam or rust.
I still don't have my problem resolved.
EAC is not installed, I verify the cache and it says there is nothing missing.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do here.
Hi, I have the same problem as people above except that maybe when i press "Try experimental" by Steam it does completely nothing. I tried every solution that was posted in this and other threads and it didn't solve it. Do you know what to do?
Actually I managed to run Rust Experimental and I have workaround which may point to the real problem.
My silly workaround xD:
1. Install Magicka: Wizard Wars.
2. Run it.
3. Run Rust using .exe from folder in SteamApps and enter the desired server
4. Exit Magicka (optional for better performance).
This means for me that Rust (Steam) doesn't start this service correctly.
Went through this a few days ago, as explained here: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1414298
The workaround is to go to http://www.easyanticheat.net/ and scroll down to the bottom of their page. Download that counterstrike/tf2 client and run it. Choose region and server, MINIMIZE (do not close) the window, and run rust. EAC will notify you it has attached itself.
Here's how i fixed it
Step 1: start
Step 2: type regedit
Step 3: click on it regedit program and click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and then SYSTEM and then ControlSet002 or it'll take along time to search
Step 4: press ctrl + f
Step 5: type in EasyAnti -> then edit ImagePath Make sure it says EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe and nothing else
Step 6: it should say But change it too
Make sure there are no spaces in the Setup install, Since facepunch adds them
Step 7: You're all complete and you've fixed your rust.
And it'll work, I just fixed my rust for experimental doing this.
ATTN: Win 7 64-bit users this does work, fixed me so I could play in game BUT the correct file path for you is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rust\experimental\EasyAntiCheat\EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe Just follow his instructions and type this in where he tells you to and it should be fine.
**Note** Don't know why the forum is posting a space between the s and y in EasyAntiCheat.... It's not typed that way but posts that way...odd... just make sure no spaces on easyanticheat if you copy/paste.
i had this problem go into
paste the file into here and run it
D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rust\EasyAntiCheat
