I think that might be a good idea, especially in post-apocalyptic situations.
Exactly, we don't need this to be another survival-shooter with military weapons. In fact those can be in the game but have to be very very rare to obtain or atleast the ammo should be. Plus it fits the setting for the apocalyptic utopia that is Rust, and yes it is alpha and things could change so this is all just an idea.
I think that might be a good idea, especially in post-apocalyptic situations. [editline]28th June 2013[/editline] I know, that's what I mean, it's an alpha, they're just trying to make it playable, not setting up anti-cheat softwares.
Anti-cheat is apart of playability. It's the reason why hackers are going to be getting banned this patch if they continue to hack and exploit. And it's not a bad thing to talk about weapon ideas, but these are just ideas for a 1.0 release. Not an alpha release, because absolutely everything is subject to change.

Remember while it may be fun to play the objective right now is to get every little basic thing to work just right, then they can move on to a more stable and efficient beta stage.

a lee enfield or something like that would be nice

In fact, having hackers will actually reveal more exploits and bugs that could be fixed. The game's not really being hacked, it's being exploited. And exploits are almost a necessity to be fixed. I've worked on a couple games before, and it's incredible how much changes when you fix simple things. By fixing problems that are more glaring, you fix other ones. For example, speedhackers: By banning, and/or fixing the speedhack exploit, super structures that crash the server will be less of an issue. Essentially, solving some issues is necessarily to solve other ones no matter how big or small that is. Cheaters are a major detriment to our ability to play, therefore test. Removing cheaters will allows players to make structures that don't have to be, "hacker proof" meaning the game will further be played as it was intended.
a lee enfield or something like that would be nice
It would be nice, but it's kinda taking from DayZ :)
It would be nice, but it's kinda taking from DayZ :)
Its a famous WW2 weapon,so no.

1337coop, from reading this, I think you just want the game to be a clone of DayZ, that's not what the community nor Pat/Helk want.
I've never worked on a game, but I would like to have a nice engine, but why don't they just just make an engine, then ban hackers?
Unity is the engine (which is written in C# if I remember correctly)? Anyways, there is nothing wrong with the engine. I don't think they're exploiting the engine, but more the coding which is being abused. I can only assume that is what Pat, Helk and the other devs are working on.
1337coop, from reading this, I think you just want the game to be a clone of DayZ, that's not what the community nor Pat/Helk want.
I don't like DayZ, but it is a survival game, so it's not hard to seem like a really popular mod/game of the same genre. [editline]28th June 2013[/editline] Ok, but can they improve on the unity engine?
Yes, but what you are describing is exactly what DayZ is. Sniper rifles, zombies, high grade military loot spawning like crazy, high infection rates.
Yes, but what you are describing is exactly what DayZ is. Sniper rifles, zombies, high grade military loot spawning like crazy, high infection rates.
But, the thing is, there are zombies, I didn't mention sniper rifles (what you talkin' 'bout bro?), I want a few spots for good loot, and zombies infect people (again, what you talkin' 'bout bro?)
Yes, but what you are describing is exactly what DayZ is. Sniper rifles, zombies, high grade military loot spawning like crazy, high infection rates.
Don't forget people who acquire helicopters and deadly offroad vehicles.
I think they should add military weapons in military outposts/bases where you can find M16's, M9's, and other, "end-game" weapons.
sounds like the northwest airfield to me, maybe add a few barracks full of god-tier loot?
he catch would be there could be zombies with armor
zombies will be removed soon
endgame
There won't be an end game, this will be a constantly updating game with new challenges each update. About the sniper rifles, was thinking about another thread. This game isn't about "lol let's sit in the barracks for 5 hours grabbin loot", it's about crafting and building and surviving a wasteland, and creating communities.
1337coop, from reading this, I think you just want the game to be a clone of DayZ, that's not what the community nor Pat/Helk want.
You are not the true parrot.
You are not the true parrot.
I'm obviously the insane alternate version of you.
This is off-topic, but what are the ways of getting a code to play alpha?
Ok, first of all, I don't have the game, so I don't really know much about it, I would like some good loot, but I don' want it EVERYWHERE, I don't know why I said endgame, and I like zombies, who doesn't?
The creators of this game, they feel that zombies are an overused antagonist. They want to make it feel more like survival than other survival games where they just add zombies because they don't know how to create the true feel of survival. There already is good loot, which is blueprints, which you can use to learn to craft items, you don't just find a fully working M4 all over the place like you do in DayZ. [editline]28th June 2013[/editline]
This is off-topic, but what are the ways of getting a code to play alpha?
You don't. It's a closed alpha.
Why is there still a registration option then?
I don't know? Ask helk/pat/garry.
Do you have the game, InsaneParrot?
How about a single shot muzzle loading pipegun?
Maybe some sort of flare launcher? Use it to throw flares further than usual (maybe also does 1 point of damage on direct impact) or to distract enemies you are about to raid.
