Maybe some sort of flare launcher? Use it to throw flares further than usual (maybe also does 1 point of damage on direct impact) or to distract enemies you are about to raid.
I do like the idea of using a flare launching weapon. It would really help you ward off incoming bandits or baddies. Just chuck one say twenty feet or so away from your character then make a hasty getaway while they're distracted by the decoy flare.

I think they should add a smoke grenade launcher.
bolt action with bayonet please
bolt action with bayonet please
It would be overpowered and clunky with bayonet controls. Think about a sniper!
Do you have the game, InsaneParrot?
Yes he does. I've seen him in-game before.

Flare gun heh. I'd honestly be surprised if one isnt added in the future.
Then all I need is to be able to dual weild it with a flashlight and I'll cruise around like Alan Wake on a rampage. Awwwwwwwww yis.
Yes he does. I've seen him in-game before.
Ok, I don't have it, wish I did though. :(

What... no. Bayonets severely hamper the accuracy of a gun. Not sure how that makes it OP.

Think though, what if a hacker had it?
It would be overpowered and clunky with bayonet controls. Think about a sniper!
No, i welcome his idea of an old time rifle, it better than having a sniper rifle, rovar put it best..
This. That was the pure reason why the barracks and the airfield were littered with bandits with sniper rifles waiting to pick you off and take your stuff.
Step 1) Get a group of people.
Step 2) Find area with high value loot.
Step 3) Block off all loot except to your group.
There, if you have the manpower you can indefinitely keep control of the area.

Think though, what if a hacker had it?
Why should a small amount of hackers prevent the devs from adding a bayonett as an attachment. They're already practically unbeatable as it is.
Do you have the game, InsaneParrot?
Yes, I do.

I know a solution to good-loot areas, prevent building there.
I know a solution to good-loot areas, prevent building there.
Make it a neutral zone.
I know a solution to good-loot areas, prevent building there.
That adds restrictive gameplay, a big no-no.
So, there is no way to get to play game in alpha, unless devs give away codes?
I know a solution to good-loot areas, prevent building there.
Or just not have them to begin with.
That adds restrictive gameplay, a big no-no.
Well, do you want to set at a door for 4 in-game days breaking the door?
I think they should add a smoke grenade launcher.
Registration is for people who happen to have a code somehow I think.
Anyways, a smoke grenade of any sort would be ridiculous. The particle effects would have to be optimized out the assholes so most people are able to run the game, and turning town the graphics until the smoke looks like flying pieces of grey paper would look terrible.
And what purpose would this serve exactly?

It takes 2-3 minutes to break down a door, not too long. If anything, it's too short.

Disractions and cover.

Oh, they must have patched it :)
That adds restrictive gameplay, a big no-no.
Actually, restricting people from making their own personal loot spawns sounds like a good idea.
I would rather have random spawn locations than restricted building, but either one works.

It was always this way, don't know what you're talking about.

Compounds are supposed to be phased out later, so yeah, random loots spawns'll be good.

None. There are very few real life smoke grenade launchers in real life and they see little use. Riot Control Police use the sometimes to trick people into thinking it's tear gas.
Military grade weapons aren't needed because people are already quite efficient at killing eachother with the small selection of weapons currently available. I'd like to see more variety, but in a way that has differences in mechanics and type of weapon rather than firepower.
Instead of a better SMG or LMG or whatever it'd be nice to have stuff like bows and crossbows, throwables, and bolt action rifles. Also, more models for melee weapons would be nice, even if the difference between them was minimal stat-wise. Being able to pick up a crowbar or lead pipe or 2x4 or large hammer instead of a hatchet adds to immersion a lot, IMO.
[editline]28th June 2013[/editline]
A bayonet (craftable and usable as an addon?) and a flaregun would also be nice
It would be overpowered and clunky with bayonet controls. Think about a sniper!
Why are you talking about a game you haven't even played, anyway

A nail gun could work as a replacement gun.

This.
In reality, a smoke grenade would most likely be used for marking down locations. That's the only practical purpose I can see.

This x 1000
That adds restrictive gameplay, a big no-no.
I don't see a problem with restricting gameplay when there's a massive benefit to doing so. You have to introduce some non-realistic elements if you have a loot zone that constantly respawns fresh loot out of the ether and could be barricaded and farmed and there would be nothing anyone could do about it.

You can just rate the post "agree" you know. That's the purpose of the rating system. To avoid posts like that.

Even then smoke grenades only last so long before dissipating into the atmosphere.
