The person that told you to do that isn't exactly Captain Literacy as evidenced by post number two in THIS thread.
It's like two people who can't read, one of them holding half a sandwich, looking at a sign that says "Don't feed the bears!" and asking each other "What's that sign say?" and the one with the sandwich saying "I don't know, but I'm gonna see if that bear wants the rest of this food." and then getting upset when they're attacked.
What has this Crap got to do with the new systems implemented on the dev branch over the last few days, Get a room Guys.
Back on Track or Trail, the new road system and the posts, seem to connect everything up quite well.

I just got a 448 Mb update for Dev branch. And now when I log into a server, all I get is a black screen. But I can hear my footsteps and see that I am in water by the wet percentage. Also, I can switch equipt items, but cannot do anything else.
Edit: i ran a file integrity scan and it can back good. Also, I tried a community server, Modded and Official. None of them would load graphics properly.
Getting same as Kulan. UI comes up and I can hear character moving around and whatnot but visually the world is completely black.
Same message "This custom render path shader needs to have at least 2 passes."

Before and after server update with newest patch, all the ground (at least around my spawn) is black.

World is spawning now for after I did a new dev install(Changed to Alpha and back to dev branch). But Textures for the Terrain are not spawning at all.
Also, Legacy building textures are not spawning either.
server menu automatically scrolls down when I try to select something. I unplugged all my other peripherals as well...
also I am unable to chat in game. the little text window shows up, but I only sometimes (~10%) get a cursor that lets me type.
The bow doesn't seem to be working. I managed to fire one arrow after moving them to the tool bar and switching weapons back a fourth but it only worked once.
Not really big issues but i will share them anyway
- Have to reload a bow
- Can wear clothes blueprints
- Sound stops when building

Same can replicate with the same you said- I think the issue is that the bow actually reloads like a regular weapon
Garry, I know you mentioned that Windows 10 has been recognized as a cheat by EAC. However, well before these last few updates Rust will run for ten minutes and then both Steam and Rust crash. Doesn't happen with any other game, and others have mentioned having the same issue.
720p(slighty higher) windowed ~30 fps, while 1080p fullscreen with high gfx settings is 60fps+

using the scroll wheel on dev console and chat screen is crap, takes 1 flick of the mouse wheel on spin (not notches) an hour to scroll up 1 line.

i a bug you should fix also you should fix the C4 to be able to place it or a limite to trow it because it overpower to have C4 like that.

The tool cupboard has been fixed on the dev version 3 days ago. Now it only takes 1000 wood.
Hey, just wanted to say something. I think its unfair to canadian players that the Toronto server seems to be down more time that its up (switching back and forth between dev and public branch) its making alot of ppl i know stop playing the game as the ping on the other servers are to high and lag is terrible. Toronto needs a more stable server!

Everytime I switch to the dev branch and have to download the required files, upon finishing I get the error 'Unable to Complete Installation (corrupt blah blah)', and the download starts over . The only way to fix this is to change the Steam Download settings to a different location ie. Minneapolis/Chicago. This isn't a major problem, but it gets really annoying with the dev branch updating every hour and having to restart steam every time I want to get the updates.
When adding a codelock to a door. It works but the holo is a bit big.

I have to restart steam too for every update. But i don't have to change download servers.
Found a wall with no texture and 50/50 HP. When I attacked it and it broke the texture reappeared as the parts gibbed.

- the bow doesn't shoot straight how it used to. It always shoots a bit of to the right
- if you press Alt to look back while holding a bow, you can see an arrow flying behind
- bandages don't stop bleeding
- you can eat one piece of human meat infinitely
- I've got two stacks of ammo from an airdrop and I couldn't stack them together
- when placing a code lock it shows a huge wireframe of it
- sleeping bags impossible to destroy

Confirmed. It worked this way for a friend and I. The first shot works normally (or we just picked up "loaded" bows. Did not notice feedback on reload, the bow just started working after hitting "R".

Good News: Rust looking better than ever, and the new roads/powerlines are a boon to navigation. Did see a few bugs on the new dev (updated 02-13 afternoon):
[B]Infinite Meat.[/B] Two of (and two more in chat) noted that human meat, when eaten, did not disappear.
[B]Doomed to Starve.[/B] Also, nothing we consumed gave off calories.
[B]Invincible Meat Man.[/B] Using infinite meat (or even our 20-deep meat stacks) off the belt slots expanded our health to unbalanced levels. We could stand still and absorb damage like TF2's Heavy eating a sandwich, only Heavy at least had the decency not to keep shooting while eating, which we can now do. (May need to rethink moving heals onto quickbar--they become potions--but this looks more like a design choice than a bug.)
[B]Plan-stick lingered.[/B] After you put your plans away, the "measuring stick" still animated in our hands. Logging out and restarting the game did not clear this condition.
Ending on a positive note, the new interface is still snappy as a cold morning. Keep the updates coming.

I have a big bug for the past six months, I have closed the ports of the provider, because the server could not look, but in the old version could go through the console, but right now that says remote host not found, tell me what to do?

Light house is floating above the rocks it is placed on, and the player can clip though the base rocks, so the lighthouse cannot be reached.
Show pines no longer appear in the snow, instead they have been replaced with pines that are shaped the same, but are regular forest colors.
When a player is holding the blueprint, the build tool we see clips through the middle of the body like he has been speared.
In third person the player can still clip though objects, bases, monuments, rocks, the ground, anything solid.
The forests look horrible in comparison to the current forests.
Thanks guys, have noted down all the issues so far. The majority are relatively easy fixes, but will be looking into the others too.

Turning on Procedural vertex texturing initially gives frame boost, turning it off again gives me 20fps (from 80, was initially getting 60).
