Can some one help me find out how to find my server RCON port ?
Can some one help me find out how to find my server RCON port ?
who is your server hosted with?
I have a problem and can not solve, whenever I try to get in some server my game closes. Please help me!
I had a server at Deinserverhost that was starting to regularly get 100 players. First few days it was fine but then all of a sudden there started to be some network issues causing the server to drop for several minutes every few minutes (this was during prime-time). Shit like this had happened with them before so I didn't trust it anymore and ordered a VPS from a company I had heard great stories about. Purchase to production took less than an hour and after getting it running and getting people to switch to the new server (with existing saves all in place), I was finally relieved. Everything seemed to be running fine; it was staying up so goal achieved.
Then came the next problem: server was running at an average of 100 fps with regular TimeWarnings. Ugh, turns out Rust doesn't run well on that VPS after all. I've tried everything I can think of; buy additional CPUs, disable virtual memory, updates, clean Steam & Rust install, etc. but nothing seems to help. Asked for a second opinion from a colleague who knows a lot more about this kind of stuff and we found that the same Rust install and new installs run on our work computers at 40%ish CPU usage total at 264 fps while it runs on the VPS at 180% usage total (1.8 full core usage) at 100ish fps (occasionally dropping to 3 fps).

(early morning after a fresh restart)
I ran a CPU-Z CPU benchmark on the VPS and got a single thread score of 832 (versus 871 on my own pc), so that looked ok. This means I still can't explain why it's so slow on the server while using so much CPU. I'm starting to think it might have to do with the server not having a graphics card versus mine having one, but that would be silly, right?
So now I'm looking around for other VPSes to see if that would offer any improvement. The server running at 100 fps with occasional fps drops is going to have to be good enough for the time being, so I'm taking it slow and experimenting on different VPSes before migrating again. It's all so frustrating though.
Hello, can you please tell me who is responsible for the Facepunch Moscow 2 server? How can I get in touch with this person?
How can I update my server, I downloaded it via SteamCMD
Anyone know how ? Please.

Run SteamCMD again with the same arguments, it should replace the old files with the new version.
hello, I have to acquire a server. I installed the useful plugins, and after a few tests to see if everything works (which is the case), I would learn to do the wipes.

So...I am wondering if it is possible to be able to modify the servers night and day length and have it be still listed as a community server? I have tried the env.nightlength command in console, but i recieve the error message, "command not found". I have heard you can use Oxide and a plugin, but that would make you listed as a modded server, correct? Any advice anyone may have on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

yeah the plugins mark you as modded. by memory its still "list ." to get all the commands via console, so you should be able to find the command for it that way (if it exists).
I cant't get y server to work. I have port forwarded the ports needed. The only problem is that my friend cant see or join my server and when he does it just says server not responding.
I'm very new to Rust (<2 weeks) and find the game very entertaining, as well as addicting. I started playing on the Facepunch Toronto Development Server (not really knowing anything about the servers or which was better, difference between development and non-development, etc.). After much effort, and several tries, established a base and made a few friends, gathered blueprints, got sniped, choppered, raided, and so on, basically learned how to play Rust, and very much enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed getting to know the many different personalities on the server via the chat, and discovering the many different reasons that people have for playing this game, and how the game accommodates all of them. Then I kept hearing about the upcoming "wipe", and eventually learned that the server would be reset and I would have to start over again on the 1st Thursday of every month. Okay, fair enough, I can plan
for it then. SO, I stayed up pretty much all night Tuesday preparing for the "coup de grace", the big finale, in which me and my new friends were going to do our first raid together, and generally look for big-time trouble with a couple AKs and several Thompsons, plus as much c4 as we could produce on short notice. I also arranged my schedule such that I could play Rust pretty much all day Wednesday to get full value for the experience. Spent all Tuesday night and Wednesday morning crafting weapons, ammunition, c4, etc. and made many, MANY trips to gather resources, only to have the server reset at around 10am on WEDNESDAY MORNING, right in the middle of our preparations! Kiss all that hard work GOODBYE. Not to mention the extreme disappointment at not being able to have the experience I had been very eagerly anticipating for several days. Then afterwards, being very frustrated, decided to make the best of it and start over again, but on the same FACEPUNCH TORONTO DEVELOPMENT server, so I could keep all my Blueprints and of course, my new friends. But NO, for whatever reason could not connect to the server and keep getting messages saying that the protocol was incorrect and needed to update the client. I tried many times throughout the day on Wednesday trying to connect, only to have the FACEPUNCH TORONTO DEVELOPMENT Server eventually DISAPPEAR ENTIRELY from the list of Servers! And what's more, I connected to a number of other servers to try and see what was going on, only to find out that those Servers were still running fine and people expected the wipe on Thursday as advertised. SO, if that rant wasn't long enough, here are my major gripes, questions, and concerns:
1. WHAT'S UP WITH THE FACEPUNCH TORONTO DEVELOPMENT SERVER????? What makes it so special? Is it run by incompetent and/or uncaring admins? If so, is there something that can be done about it? And why exactly was it reset at least a day before all the other servers?
2. What is the future of the Facepunch Toronto Development Server? Is it to be shut down? If so, will there be any compensation (I'm talking mostly in terms of blueprints) for the people who played on that server?
3. I paid just as much of my hard-earned money to play this game as everybody else, but I/we get SCREWED big time by the Server. REALLY PEOPLE???? it's almost enough to make me quit and not play the game anymore.
4. These "wipes" are a pretty devastating thing to have happen to a player, and I think we should be given AMPLE warning time so that players can prepare. Like for example, I kept wondering what time on Thursday the reset would occur. Since there seemed no way to find out after the standard internet searching, I/we decided that Wednesday had to be the "Big" day to finish off in style. Is there possibly a better way to inform players about when EXACTLY to expect a wipe?
5. I would have no problem moving to another server if in fact the Facepunch Toronto Development Server is simply messed up for whatever reason and crap like this might keep happening (and judging from a history of forum posts, this is not the first time that this particular server has had similar issues), but is there some way to maybe recover the blueprints that I so painstakingly collected? When you purchase a computer game like this, you expect certain things, like being able to save progress and advance in the game, not have to start completely from scratch with no notice, and certainly not to have your game experience abruptly brought to an agonizing demise in the way that I just experienced.
So there it is. I make this post for a number of reasons. Firstly to simply express my extreme displeasure to the people responsible. Secondly, in the hopes that my new friends (and they know who they are) will see this and we can somehow link up again. I have no way to contact them other than on the Toronto Development Server. And lastly, to perhaps provide the other affected players an incentive to express their displeasure as well. Most of them have played much longer on that server than I did, and have at least as much, if not far more, reason to be upset by this. As paying customers we need to demand that we be treated in the way that paying customers ought to be treated. There is simply NO EXCUSE to have a server to go down in this fashion without some kind of back up plan. This may have been no big deal to the admins at the Facepunch Toronto Development Server, but I GUARANTEE that it was a big deal to MANY of your customers.
thank you,
mike
I've forwarded the ports 28015-28016 and 27015-27016!
My server is set to server port 28015.
I tried only Alphabetical Characters in my hostname: "PlayRustModdedTest"
I also modded it with Oxide 2, but it's probably not important.
I don't know what to do, please help me!!

I appreciate this probably isn't the response you want to read but here it is anyways.
This game is currently still in development. That means it isn't finalised and things will constantly be changing, that's the nature of an Alpha.
I'd suggest moving from a development server if you're concerned about it's uptime, the name of the server itself is a dead giveaway.

Chill.. Yes there is. See above.

Hi, after the last update, my server crashes every time I get this error

It uses 100% of the CPU and crashes the server.
Anyone know how can I fix it ? Or is there anyway to disable it ?
Once an hour at about :40-:47 the server lags. For everyone on Facepunch without any numbers.
