Hey guys, (sorry for the long post) I have been having a performance issue since the last (6 or 7 or so) devblogs with hosting a dedicated server. With any configuration, the server will teleport players backwards, even on fresh installs of the server. Check below for examples: [video]https://youtu.be/4ky5msWKI_Q[/video] [video]https://youtu.be/Y6W3BsfnTk0[/video] It runs like this, pretty evenly: [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/5rn620l.png[/IMG] and the server's total CPU usage is never above 20% (only when rust is generating the map at the start). It's basically almost idle. The server specs are: - dedicated rust server process is on realtime priority - Windows Server 2012 R2 x64 (because other things happen on this server aswell, but no big things) - SSD in RAID 0 - 24GB RAM - Intel Xeon CPU E5405 @ 2 GHz (2 processors) - 240 megabits/s download & 20 megabits/s upload I have logged in to an official server yesterday and there I do not have this problem. I am wondering wether my server is "too weak" to handle it but I would assume not considering it's not a BAD server.
Is there a server spec anywhere? I have 60-100 users on my server and it gets laggy after 50. I was wondering what I should be looking at for a Windows Server based Rust Server. I have an old dev server I am looking at using: 16 Gig RAM Windows Server 2012 Intel Xeon Quad Core DATA - SATA 6 - mirrored drives System Drive - 256GB SSD will that handle 100 users?
Because the server is based on virtualization technology, can not get a complete computing power, the server has a large load can not be processed when the 100%CPU,Server 4fps, hoping to support more processors or find the problem. Game servers are much more demanding than shared webhosting and forum software. That's why virtual servers are so cheap. They're provided with so little power.

Does anyone else have an unnacurate map when generated on websites like playrust.io? I mean my server is using Seed : 1998 And the map generated is false. Thanks EDIT : Nevermind used another website ! Sorry for inconveniance

Does "-autoupdate" option working properly? I'm using this option to start the server, but all the same, when new update released - i was forced to update and restart my server manually. Good evening, so I just explained my concern here on a dedicated server (Intel i7-4790K @ 4,0GHz - 14Go RAM) it runs to 35% and 25% in CPU RAM with 12-15 players, the problem is that there are rollback since the shift? not knowing that vien of us that uses virtually nothing and not connecting? server side is still between 60 and 250. 120FPS when we had (sorry for my english).
does anybody have any idea when the Texas IV server will be up? its been down since 9-10pm last night and hasn't come back up since.

I have been trying to host my own Rust server. I have been working on it for about 4 days now and I have gotten so that I can join and connect. I have forwarded ports 28015 and 28016 as well as a few others in that number range for good measure. I have also added the Rusty administrator tool to my server. Now my server doesn't appear on the server list and I have given my IP address to my friends and told them to use the console in game but still no luck. No one can connect but me and when they do try to connect it tells them they are connecting to Amsterdam II and then says connection failed. Do you know how I can make it so they can connect to my server? Any information or tips will be greatly appreciated, as well as if you need any more information about my server contact me at [email]zaykolsilver@gmail.com[/email] and I can give you more information to help narrow down the issue.
1 How can I contact with Server developers? I would like to send them a lot of debug files for last few days crashes (after last update every X hours server crashed on Win7). 2. So I moved Rust server into Win2k12R2 and now instead of crashes I have freeze every few hours sometimes more often, until I'll write eg "status" in Rust server console game game is freeze, fps counter stops, how can I avoid/fix that?
Anyone who is HOSTING a server find it crashing 1-2 times per day since the last update? I have 30-80 users and after 12-18 hours Rust crashes.

I'm having an issue with server radiation. I host locally. I have NO issue at all with anything except server.radiation. I checked all the twitter updates, the devblogs, and the last several pages of this thread but cant find anything on this. It happened right after the 1/7 update. Even when radiation is on, it doesn't affect anyone on the server. I thought originally it might be a glitch with the update since no one is talking about it, so I tried updating/validating the server again to avail. I was told to also add it to my cfg file, but it dispears from there on server restart. I even tried moving away from vanilla to Oxide to manage radiation but it has no effect either. At this point im assuming its an un-talked about bug or that you've disabled it and not told anyone. Either way just looking for a little information on whats going on and plans with it. P.S. xmas is still on the server - AWESOME thanks for leaving it, but when i goto xmas.enabled and set it to true, it doesn't automatically spawn anymore. And since I cannot enable radiation at radtowns, it would be awesome if you would consider the idea of letting auth level users like admins place traps and deployables at radtowns etc since building is blocked even for them.
I must be dumb or something cuz I can't figure out how to do the ... "So just open the console and type in “bind p debugcamera”, and “bind l noclip” and you’re back to the old config without having to press Right Shift. " When I type them in it tells me command not found. What am I doing wrong? Edit...figured it out....was using Rusty instead of F1...doh!

[url]https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1501574[/url] If one runs a dedicated server on a machine which you use RDP to reach, when disconnecting the RDP-session, the server freezes. This started happening after yesterdays patch. No idea why, but it is 100% recreatable for me. Also, will there ever be a Linux version of the server software? Spinning up a bulky Windows VM doesn't seem right.. We also have a high CPU load (about 40-50%). And the game lags a bit everytime the server 'saves'. Best regards, Robin
guys im runnning a $100 cpu geting 240-270fps steadily. Perhaps the real quest is not whether it should be on linux but whether or not it will be optimized for intel architechture - because from my standpoint its setup for AMD. with 10ppl on the server.. my cpu usage is 2-6% fluctuating. RAM is way way down from old server i think its a slick piece. Why would you ever use an RDP session to connect to your server console instead of using RCON?
