I'm running a i7-2600, too - with win2012 R2. No crashes whatsoever.
Yea, you are right, crashes are not ideal either, however atleast a crashed server restarting is a ton better than a crashing sever that is down for hours until I'm back to fix it.
Anyways, it doesnt entierly crash, it just freezes, and client stay connected, but cant do anything. So I have to restart it manually. I guess your batch wont work then.
I'm going to reinstall my server with win2012 R2 and see if that helps any.
Also check your cpu load. since rust servers can only handle one thread, forcing one thread might help there. I also disabled hyperthreading because of this.

Ok. Thanks a lot for your help. I dont think cpu load is the issue though, peak of the brief time I had the server running was 26 players, and it crashed during the night when allmost noone was online.
I have now run the server allmost 3 days without crash on a fresh installed windows 2012 r2 server. Seems this solved the issue. Thanks a lot for your help dilla :)
Running Rust Dedicated Server on linux. Right now we are having this weird issue where the server suddenly shutdown. There's no error log. The only thing we have is a small bash script to check the log file, which I don't really think it will cause any issue. Has anyone run into the same problem?
edit: got it. whoever shoot an arrow, the server will crash. now, how do I fix it?

same here. We've talked with Garry on slack and it's probaby EAC error. All we can do is waiting for a reply from a EAC if they changed something.

Yeah, I figured the linux server wasn't saving at all, I added "server.saveinterval 120" in the bash file, and then it started saving.
Even with this, I still had a crash and lose 2-3 days of gaming.
I also had a lot of issues with the windows version of the server: crash, freeze every 2 or 3 days. Restart the server manually.
Facepunch got to make their rust server reliable.
Never got any answers to this, and i cant imagine that im the only server owner experiences this... when ever i restart my server all decay timers restarts and this is with the world being saved before a restart...
am i missing some sort of command for my config? or is this just how the game is designed at this point?

Rustralasia.net has 500/500 people on it. 500 Players is the Hard cap by you so it cannot be upped by the owner any higher. There are currently over 100 people in the Queue to get in. Its only 11AM in Australia so its not even prime time for another 6 hours. This is crazy. Please Make it 1000 players Max or higher. Please Garry.

You won't find a CPU that would be capable of handling 1000 players, since the server software currently can only handle a single thread. :/

I am running server build 849.59 on a dedicated server hosted by Gameservers.com, after about 5 days our server is lagging badly. We have a size 3030 map with procgen map. Getting nasty lag spikes, it may be about every 10 minutes when the server saves. Has anyone been getting this?

You may notice some "lag" while the server applies decay damage, but you shouldn't while saves. At least I never did. If it's a dedicated server, what CPU and OS is installed?
Recently i set up a server with plugins and all but whenever my friends and I put down tool cuboards im the only one that can see the build zone icon on the bottom right corner but my friends cant see it and even when not authorized from the tool cuboard they can still build and remove stuff from that area! i need some help please because this issue is getting annoying

I recently have been experiencing a problem when trying to join one specific rust server (london 5). It has no problem connecting and loading but right as it reaches the point where it usually tells you to hit any key to wake up, the game glitches and locks into a single frame of the sky with the title screen music playing in the background. I have tried to log onto other servers and the game runs fine, however whenever I try loading this specific FacePunch official server, I get stuck at this same point. I am able to bring up the console but am not able to escape back to the main menu, instead I am required to completely reboot the game. I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this issue or anything similar but I would really like to be able to continue playing on this server.

we just set up a new Server on Win7 (before we had tried the Linux Version). (Linux works fine but was difficult to maintain so we switched to Win)
Der setup run fine and the RCON connection is also good. The Server comes up in Rust Game at Servers w/o issues.
But if you try to connect always you are "disconnected: timed out".
Sometime you get online for 10sec or even a few minutes and then be disconnected but normally you get these message and disconnect during loading.
Does anyone have an idea?
We opened the ports for Rust 28015-28016 so it s fine so far.
Still not playable.
And we checked it before installing Oxide and after, both have the same issue so no Oxide Problem.

Thanks, this issue went away. I actually keep decay off on my server since it is low pop, no issues yet. :)
