Why We Cant Change Our Skin And Characters? Why not to be Randomly for every Reborn? - Rust

Revolanse, if you don't like to discuss with people you're in the wrong place. Forums are made for discussion. Many people like the random characters but you can't seem to accept this fact. Now you're left with 2 options: - play rust with random characters - stop playing rust This is up to you but please stop this whining. I like that rust has a very own style. Many people here show screenshots from other games and say: "Do it like this". I think if developers would listen to people like you it would be a boring game just like many other games out there.

And the tension you feel playing a character whose bullied for asinine reasons? I think that was why they didn't include it. I've seen a million of these threads (especially right when the skin color thing happened) and it always makes me a little depressed that people's solution is to ask for the ability to change their character rather than figuring out how to make it work. I hate to draw real-life conclusions out of this kind of stuff, but as a person with a little more melanin in both real life and the game, it seems like an important lesson for a majority demographic. Anyway, this is an old issue, and I can't imagine FP will go back on it now.

I really want to know where all this self-entitlement started as it permeates the gaming community. This 'issue' has already been settled and whinging that they will 'lose players' because of it is stupid. If someone stops playing a game just because they can't choose what their character looks like well then they should just kill themselves because they weren't able to choose what they looked like. People play games like Tomb Raider, Mad Max, Max Payne, Witcher, etc. and still enjoy them greatly regardless of their gender/race and despite being able to see them for the entire game. In Rust it is First Person so who gives a dusty fuck about what you look like. If you think people actually kill you because you are black or have a tiny penis or look ugly then you must not be the smartest cookie in the jar. Most likely they saw you were not much of a threat/were a considerable threat or simply wanted to kill you for sport.

I think steam ID skins system is original and interesting. Rust also gained publicity when it was implemented. On the flip side of the coin it prevents any creation exploits and makes it an even playing field. The Legend of the small dicky really is on the bottom of my list and also I didnt console kill myself to see if my character is Asian guys who cares its the same classic naked dude in the wilderness! Also we need the regular Newman look for Rust. but I'm willing to "shelf" the beard option to keep the normal Newman look lol. The reasons for and against it have been beaten to death, but it still stands that one way or the other, people care about it.

If they changed it, such as giving you a choice or making your race change sometimes, it will be better for players. But the developers will not change it for a while. The idea is to create a unique look for every player so that identification is possible. At the same time they want to avoid a situation where players of a clan all look the same for easier identification during a battle. Great lengths have been made to assure the randomness of each character. If they allowed players to choose their own looks, you may run into a situation where players are too similar to tell the difference.

I was just about to buy this game but came here for some more info, can't believe I missed this part, now I don't know if I'm buying this anymore ): But I don't understand, for sure hair styles will come soon right? So will they be applied randomly onto everyones bald heads, or will everyone get new characters? And what will happen when female models arrive? Only the newer players have a chance to be female?

I'm tired of being bald, I want my afro of justice.

Enough layers at the least to make the randomization a pointless effort. With the extremely limited clothing/armor options currently in game, we already run into cases of players looking too similar.

That's really the crux of my issue with a character creator. So yeah, of course people care about it, but it's really frustrating for me to see this kind of whining in Rust when some of us deal with it in real life -- and do so with a hell of a lot more grace.

And maybe it's about vanity for you, but in most cases (ie forum threads on this issue) it's not.

I think they just need to quickly add some ugly looking female character too appease people, allow us to choose male/female and let our steam ID decide how fugly we are.

Could be tied to steamid, or it could end up growing longer as you stay alive. As far as the female goes, when they add any significant addition to the character creator, you stand a chance at getting a new character. That means you may log in after a patch and your black man has become an asian woman. Or you could stay the same.

One of the only games to have character looks bound to an account for a neat twist and a really cool one, and some RPer is mad he can't be white.

Growing hair as you stay alive is an interesting idea, but i'd still like to create myself and let my girlfriend create HER self so we'd look like our real counterparts Character creation is definitely my most wanted feature for Rust, no question.

IMO they should randomize your guy every death. The whole idea you're suck with your guy based off steamID is a cop-out for not making a character creation. I don't really care what reasoning you want to regurgitate back to me. It is what it is.
