I remember that thread. InsaneParrot is correct. Someone got banned for having the name "garry :D" in Rust and whined about it. "garry :D" was Garry's Steam nickname for the longest time, and he shoved his ass in the ban pit.
The best part was, the guy didn't even own the Rust account. It was created by someone who had access to the GMF and hogged several accounts and then gave them out, including garry :D.
So, yes. Garry has already demonstrated that he doesn't like people impersonating him.

Look at the date of the post. Then the date of the update. Also "trolling" is different from "impersonating" on top of that he mentions his behavior and the account being given to him.

Also, Garry isn't a [I]player[/I], he is [B]Garry[/B]. Nowhere do the rules say that you may impersonate the dev team, and that's exactly what you are saying they say.
We linked you to a thread demonstrating that a guy got his Rust account permanently banned for having the name "garry :D". You say that that's perfectly fine. The only proof I can provide you is if you now step up and get yourself banned. I'm not spending $40+ to buy a Rust key just to test if I can get it banned, but if you'd like to buy me one I will happily rush around as my naked rock-wielding self with the name Helk, telling everyone that the game's going F2P by the end of the year and shit.

It doesn't matter the date. He banned someone for impersonating him and has never said anything otherwise since then.
Just a heads up. This "Brianlee40" has been caught "selling" a Rust account on reddit and then recovering it. I don't see how this is possible 'cause that guy is the most stupid person 2013.
EDIT: He got access to some account by claiming that he's "buying" it to the owner. He was given access to play on it for a while or shit and while "playing" he sold it to shit ton of people and the original owner eventually found out and recovered it back to himself.
