• Why?? Admins Why?? Abusing "Tools"

I had my first experience with admin abuse in Rust while playing over Christmas with my brother. In which the admin accused us of shooting him however we had only just logged in. He blew up 25 metal doors and came into our house with a bolt action rifle with god mode, my bro fired about 10 m4 rounds into his head and then killed us and didn't loot anything just leaving our house wide open. My Brother called him out on his bullshit and was banned from the server. After he was banned I didn't really want to play on the server anymore so I gave all our stuff away to other players and left. From this experience I think admin Godmode should be limited so either they can't use weapons and items or weapons do not damage other players whilst using god mode. PS The Server was [EU] Newbfriendly | Just wiped and the Admins Name was Admin Dennos.
or dont play on servers that abuse admin that works too
Okay whats your suggestions for avoiding servers with admin abuse? And please don't say play official servers as I don't enjoy the rock melee of 100+ player servers
You're playing on their rented server. They could pretty much do whatever they want. Stick with official servers if you want a fair game.
I disagree. The official servers are filled with hackers who have aimbot, x-ray vision, loot through walls, and item duplication which is almost the same as admin abuse. The difference is that one official server may have 20-30 hackers and private servers usually only have 1 or 2 admin
Guys if you don't like a server, leave it. You can go to Official servers too. Rent your own server That's all you can basically do, only Garry and his team has near full control of what people can do, tough luck.
I totally get that it's frustrating that there are admins who abuse their power, but with something like ~2000 community servers there are plenty with admins that do not abuse these powers. In my server, I have godmode on all the time. I also have invisible armor so that just my head is visible... which is a rather clear indicator that I am the admin. I need to have these tools available to me because I like to host events in my server such as arena deathmatches. I have to be able to teleport people to me, spawn items for them, and kill them in one hit if they try to run with the spawned items (no one gets out of the arena alive!). It sucks to hear but it is true, if you don't like the admin(s) in the server that you're on, you should probably find a new one. I guarantee you'll find one that is abuse-free without trying too hard. In fact, you could just hop into a server and ask in chat if other people have had issues. It should give you a pretty clear idea of how the server is managed.

I feel the spawning in of items is almost useless for server moderation and is mostly just abused. However the invisible armor is a "step" in the right direction.. but a lazy step. Admins should be allowed to noclip, increase speed and spectate from a players Point Of View. Right now admins are only given the tools that allow them to abuse the server.. If Someone is hacking in my server and I want to verify that he is indeed using a aimbot or wall hacking.. my tools to watch this player are VERY limited without his knowledge.. The only thing I can do as an admin is spawn in guns for myself and make airdrops happen.. I can't actually be a good admin.

Other than that, I absolutely agree, admins need more tools suited to spectating... of course noclip and quick speed would get abused as well, but I don't think anything is ever quite going to end admin abuse.
Ya know, while it might be in their right to ban whom ever because it's their server, you wouldn't want to ban for stupid reasons or when ever at your decision. That will instantly drive away players from your server and not make the money worth-while. What's the point of owning a 200 person server if it's just going to be empty all the time because some ruthless admins decided to ban anyone for any reason they like that isn't justified. Just because it's in their right, doesn't exactly make them justified to do things. Especially when it comes to attracting and maintaining active players.

We have our own server so that isn't the issue, The issue is the rampant use of god mode and the uber weapons then when they get called out on it they just ban the person who is onto them. I get that they need to be able to catch hackers and that sort of thing but maybe a chase cam for the admin might work better rather than have them run around with god mode and stuff. I realize that these servers wont be able to keep a player base as once people find out what is going on they will just leave. For now i will play only on the server that my mates run. Flame on
Would be nice if servers with admin cheats enabled are listed in a separate list similar to 'Modded' etc. This way you could choose to join or not, but then of course those servers would be totally empty. :)

A Modded server is for a server that is actually had it's core rules changed. No disrespect but if you don't like the possibility of admin abuse, go live with the hackers on the "Official Servers"
