the people from jersey shore wouldbe scary enemies
Hobbits, really hungry Hobbits!
While I love zombies, they just don't end up being as scary or strong as you want to see... So I would love to see monsters... Each with their own traits, Strength's & Weaknesses. One could be a hulking brute with strong melee but because he is so big he is quite slow. One could be quite lean and fast but a the same time fragile. Some could walk the night like we do the day and others may have better hearing. You could explain them as some sort of mutants or even some sort of plague that came from space morphing animals into these beasts and only humans remained immune etc..
Get to work, mods! We want dinosaurs!
go home your drunk XD
Zombie Dinosaurs!
Mutants would be cool.
Yeah kind of like 'The Hills Have Eyes' mutants. Considering the radiation areas are where those AI are at, it would make sense. [editline]11th July 2013[/editline]
the people from jersey shore wouldbe scary enemies
It would be fun to destroy them morons over and over, but i think that adding them idiots to the game is still supporting their idiocracy! :suicide:
I would love to here the devs chime in here on what their ideas are (for zombie replacement)!!!
I vote for mutants
Demons? not the kind where theyre big and shiney and red but more twisted ethreal creatures. Ranodm body groups, impossible proportions, spikes n shit. Some warp in and out of being a cloud of thick black dust.
Wait, was that a spaceship....?
Mutants or vampires.

Predatory animals are a good go-to, but shouldn't make up the brunt of the enemies. Scatter some (inedible & infectious) wolves and bears in the woods away from the industrial areas, for example. If the general idea is to move away from zombies all-together, then some kind of mutants would need to be added to populate the industrial, or item-farming areas. Armed bandits or cannibals would be cool, and their camps can act as "quest areas" or mini objectives for players looking for a challenge other than PvP. Some kind of ultimate freak-behemoth that cruises around the wilderness destroying players. This can pose as a co-operative challenge to encourage players within close proximity to one another to work towards a common goal or die alone in the dark.
I Am Legend Mutants :D
The zombies get replaced with twelve year olds who want rust keys.
Something dealing with radiation, so mutation of some kind. I mean mutated animals are always an option, as are zombies. My biggest thing with zombies, as I said before, is there ability to evoke fear, I'm talking about never stopping, one goal, no emotion, and just a demoralizing sound they emit. I mean, let's face it, you hear that moan and your spine stiffens and I imagine it being just terrifying. I know they're not going for the whole zombie thing, I just want something else that can evoke that kind of feeling. Something so terrifying it brings players together.
How about wolves? You hear the pack howling from a distance, your scent already caught in their noses, in the forest, with only a rachet...
I don't know, I mean sure, with just a hatchet I'm sure it'd be pretty scary, but then you get firepower and to me it just seems to take away from that kind of fear. Sure zombies, on the surface, might not seem so scary after you get some firepower -- but that's when it starts to get terrifying with the hoard that follows that first bullet. I'm not saying I want zombies. Don't assume I am. I'm just trying to think of SOMETHING that would be that scary.
yeah that wouldn't be useful against wolves.
.-. whoops.
Mutants sounds good. This game does have the "feel" of Stephen King's Dark Tower/Gunslinger Series. Limited Ammunition, Post Apocalyptic.

It also hunts in packs and leaps at you to attack. Add radiation-induced mutation and you've got a monster much more terrifying than a reanimated corpse. EDIT: Oh, and that's the weakest enemy. BOOM!
The zombies get replaced with twelve year olds who want rust keys.
I'd be so much more encouraged to kill them
ALIENS.
ALIENS.
Aliens, mutants, deranged walrus' oh MY!!!
Aliens would be cool, maybe. i just don't really know what could fit instead of zombies.
I vote bears though. Big ol' grizzly bears.
Grolar / Pizzly bears! They are a cross between a polar and grizzly bear :P Oh yea and Ligers!
