In olden days, our domestic dog came from wolfs. A cave man subdues it, then ties a wolf to a stake near his territory. He throws it a meat scrap from time to time, and it barks and attack anything near, not excluding the caveman sometimes if he were to get too close. What if you can't get lovey dovey with them, but can just use them as dangerous alarms?
