the problem is in the way u are acting. you are applying certain features of your character to being a FEMALE. sure, some features can be found in women, but I doubt your personal preferences have anything to do with that. you are basically endorsing and creating stereotypes. and you come on the forum saying: hey anyone wants to play with me? Im a FEMALE!! FEMUL HEREEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! thats the thread you posted and apparently it got deleted. just dont make such a deal about your gender and noone would care.
I have never had a thread get deleted, and I have never asked anyone to play with me. The only threads I created were about hackers on the official servers, about me dying because of a glitch that kept making my desktop pop up as someone was hitting me with a rock, and about having female characters in rust. You have the wrong girl. [editline]27th March 2014[/editline] Oops, sorry. I mean you have the wrong person.
and you come on the forum saying: hey anyone wants to play with me? Im a FEMALE!! FEMUL HEREEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! thats the thread you posted and apparently it got deleted. just dont make such a deal about your gender and noone would care.
That was someone else. That was someone going "I'm an 18-year-old girl looking to play Rust with people, my age and gender are very important facts you guys!" thelionnessa's events log () would reflect a thread deletion/ban, but you've got the wrong person. Not all girls look the same. :v:
It sounds like it was a sarcastic thread created mocking me or someone else like me (gender challenged).
you haven't played League of Legends i see. If toxicity is what you search for, look to League.
Must disagree with this one in a way :D the toxicity is at the lower leagues mostly but the higher you get the better it will be (depends on the platform too I guess - played only on EUW/EUNE) and about the topic I agree that people sometimes don't think and just insult others instead of looking for better ways to express themselves,it's probably the way the game is too where hours/days of work are obliterated in minutes while you're off or so on(example: There's a group of 5-6 players that aren't really good at shooting ,they work for hours to farm they craft their kevlars and weapons they go out and they get killed by 1-2 players against their whole group , they feel humiliated + they are angry because they lost all their stuff so they start accusing the killer of being a cheater because they simply can't understand how someone can be "so much better" - impossible from their point of view or they simply insult him because they are frustrated and aren't able to control their anger I guess . If they happen to be children then the next step is that they most probably buy some cheats - get banned - come on facepunch - they tell us the same story that they haven't been cheating that it is outrageous and that they want to get unbanned or that they want their money back . Even so I guess in time it will get better , especially when security increases (hopefully sooner than 6 months)
You think this community is bad? Lets see i got a few examples League of Legends (Toxic as all hell) Call Of Duty (ew cod) DotA (Toxic as all hell)
It sounds like it was a sarcastic thread created mocking me or someone else like me (gender challenged). That figures. :) mclmrtn, you couldn't have been more accurate in your assessment.
People would appreciate the fun aspects of the game if they'd watch the Youtube videos of your gameplay. I really enjoyed them. Here's hoping you'll make more
You think this community is bad? Lets see i got a few examples League of Legends (Toxic as all hell)
I feel like going on league of legends and saying "how play game" in chat
There is a massive age difference most of the times... So yeah, it's hard.
Yeah I think this might be the case. I've realized it because people will automatically respond with rage to any worthless immature post (which is very easy to do) and completely ignore arguing with anything well-thought out or anything with actual content (which is hard to do). You can tell who's on here to discuss, and who's 11 and on here looking for easy posts to rip apart. *The community is bad, but League is still worse by far :suicide:.
I feel like going on league of legends and saying "how play game" in chat
Your gonna need to make a smurf for that people dont fall for that after level 5. Or atleast not anymore. But ya league is a acid pit.
you haven't played League of Legends i see. If toxicity is what you search for, look to League.
You said it before I could. :) Seriously, out of my 15+ years of gaming, League has to worst community by far, hands down.
Wow in the world there is girls and boys and they are people, and no person is the same as another person. This is a new world to me, I need some drugs to process it. I think this community will improve if the games improves, but that is just a thought. Pd: League of legends got the worst community, wtf would u ask this?
I beg to differ The game that has the worst community is... ROBLOX The community is full of spammers, 5 year olds, hackers, place copiers, teamkillers and spawnkillers in fighting places, assholes and all other bad stuff
Oldest player i have seen on this game is 58. Even my 69 year old grandfather played all the mass effects, and fallout 3 & new vegas Nonetheless this game is about kill or be killed. Sometimes you find somebody to help you but before that you are on your own We will have a friendly community when pigs fly, hackers delete their hacks and we all toss flower pedals into the air and tell each other how much of a good person they are
I am seriously concerned about flower pedals starting to fly - they could do serious damage... now tossing about flower petals, that would be perfect for my sing-along kumbayah campfire next week. IF1
Being that your name is Reallyguys I found your response funny. Maybe it's my dry humor. :) And I see the chest pounding masochism everyday on this forum. There is a big difference from saying, "hey everyone I am a girl" to "maybe I am passive about my gameplay because I am a girl and I don't enjoy the pvp aspect" when typing responses. But as I said, the older more mature members (that have girlfriends or wives) get it, the kids not so much. They focus on the word girl and their brain becomes mush. This isn't a lunchtable for me and I'm well beyond high school. I will continue to detail my opinions and if I feel it needs to be said I am female, then I will say it. I will just take the flames.
hey yo upgrade yo windows
There for sure seems to be some people that have some real issues with women. I mean who cares if she said she was a girl, can it really bother you so much that you think you need to respond. Ohh yeah and not to derail the thread, it depends. I have seen all types of good and bad so that's kinda how it is in life an the internet. This forum is a bit hard core but that's by design as you can see by the rules and how many bans get posted. I love it that if some idiot responds (u mad bro) they would get banned.
Natural Selection 2 also has a poor community. If you're a noob on that game, everyone will just kick you off of the server. It's pretty awful. People scream at you and call you names if you don't know how to play. But it still pales in comparison to Rust, both in game and on these forums.
All games are like this. Rust is worse because of the "open-world, do what you want" vibe. Honestly hate it... But still good game. Hope more RP servers come along
u don't need to accentuate you sex post as anon. this isn't a dating site is it. your avatar, your forum name - it looks like you just asking to be singled out and trolled you already knew how people were gonna react before you even created your forum account...
So she should have to post as anon because other people are assholes? Right, rather than be open with who she is as a person, she should cater to everyone else's incessant need to trollololol out of boredom. "Fuck you and your self expression, Lionnessa! How dare you force my hand and make me troll you!" *thumbs up, steps off of soapbox*
Your gonna need to make a smurf for that people dont fall for that after level 5. Or atleast not anymore. But ya league is a acid pit.
Heya Danifer, long time no see lol, Tell mac I said hi and tell all digirev that too :P IF you are the one guy that I think I know lol.
Ah yes I remember league of legends...I played my first 'normal' (pvp) game on there, and was placed against people with over 1000 games played. Needless to say, I wasn't even aware of basic tactics used in pvp (like last hitting) and was treated pretty badly for ~30 minutes. This game community is different though. I expect to be treated like shit in-game because that is how you survive. People even go to lengths of crying 'No wait don't shoot please!! I'm friendly I'm friendly!" then as you go to run away, they pull out a shotgun. So that is why you have to KOS usually, it's not about being a dick, it's for survival. The forums are a lot more 'toxic' than the actual game in my opinion. At least ingame, you have a reason to be a complete asshole.
Well there are so many jaided players because of players who KOS no matter what. So basically what happens is you have some noobs coming around and asking for tips and what not....you help them out make an alliance then the next kid you come accross asks for help then shoots you in the head while your getting him food and he takes all the resources you just spent an hour gathering and you become a KOS'er like all the other KOS a-holes lol. The best way to have a decent community and server is build up a good size group with some killers who all agree to leave nakeds alone and new players alone. Warn everyone on the server when you are raiding and when your group has kevlar on to try and keep your distance lol. Also air drops everyone is game. To be hosest this worked really well on a couple of servers I was on and we protected a good group of people but we always ended up getting banned sooner or later because a couple of the guys I roll with are really good and get called hackers and we get booted from the server. anyways long story short get a large enough group together that if you get some bullies in the server you can wipe them out.
Not the worst maybe, but I liked the kindness of the Gearbox Forums better. That's really a nice place!
I signed up to share my videos. My youtube account is of the same name (a much better picture because it's actually me, but I had to change it here). But because my name isn't "SpookzKill187", I am here to date, be singled out, and trolled. Hilarious. Again, sorry mclmrtn.
I thought you were here to make sure that we all knew that you were a real, for serious, no kidding guys, girl on the internet. You've mentioned it enough. Reallyguy's point was simply that your gender is irrelevant to conversations about Rust -- who are you to say you're archetypical of all women? Or that women can even be framed in that way? You make the case for the girl-gamer stereotype, seemingly for attention. I've never volunteered my gender on these forums because I'd rather my ideas speak for themselves, and if I ever do, it won't be as pointlessly as you did in this thread. <---- Knew what Reallyguys meant and thought he should be defended from the people trying to suck up to what might be a female. He was right here. :P

I don't pretend to be some random anonymous person that is rude because I am totally hidden and unknown. I'm nice, personable, and upfront with who I am, including being a woman. I like to let people know where my ideas come from, not just here is an idea, rate it "dumb" and have a good day! Sorry. If being real is a bad thing and stereotypical, then okay. In real life we don't walk around with cloaks hiding who/what we are and let our ideas speak for themselves. I like to know where the ideas come from. I'm not a random brain in a vat. Maybe I'm just not acclimated to the internet culture of not being sincere or personable. Maybe that's why this is one of the worst communities? Everyone's anonymous, random, rude, and their ideas "speak for themselves" (very anonymously). What do you expect me to do? Stop being who I am and do exactly as I am told here (also change my name as it screams that I am looking for dates and asking for trolls) and listen to all the wonderful advice from men (on a forum where it's being discussed that this is the worst community) on how to be and act like a woman, or a non stereotypical gamer-girl. No thanks.
World of Warcraft ALL moba games all Call of duty games seriously Rust community is shit but still way above of those...... [editline]28th March 2014[/editline]
I for one am glad you defended him. He definitely needed a knight, or maybe even a mysterious anonymous mistress that "never mentioned her gender" come to his rescue. Awesome. You can be who you are, I will be who I am? I'm sorry it annoys people. I guess I'm annoying... the stereo-typical gamer-girl. I don't pretend to be some big bad tough anonymous person that is rude because I am totally anonymous. I am nice, I am personable, and I am upfront with who I am, including being a woman. I like to let people know who I am and where my ideas come from (which apparently makes me sexist), not just here is an idea, rate it "dumb" and have a good day! Sorry. If being real is stereotypical, then okay. What do you expect me to do? Stop being who I am and do exactly as I am told here (also change my name as it screams that I am looking for dates and asking for trolls) and listen to all the wonderful advice from men on how to be and act like a woman, or a non stereotypical gamer-girl. Rust is a smaller more condensed version of the World. Look at the state of the World right now and that is why Rust is an unforgiving environment. Oh, and I'm a Boy.
Hence the picture change :P I truly never understood this but its been a stigmatism in games for years. I could never figure out why an industry that essentially is 95% guys doing a giant circle jerk wouldn't want to even out male to female ratio..... call me crazy I guess. Getting back to the topic, you just need to find the older half that isn't trying to measure their epean and pownage to validate their existence. Most of the people I actually team up with are on the older side, more mature side, and we have a great time. Like anything there is the good, the bad, and the ugly. Just gotta weed out the bad and ugly.
I don't think it's dependent on age, but just how people are. I had some 20+ year old guy yelling at me to shut my cunt when I told him to stop spamming the chat. I think it's really because parents are giving less of a shit and kid's aren't realising what they are supposed to aim for, so most of them turn out to be dickheads. Also, people love to publicise shitty things and make them a stereotype, and that is pretty clear in a lot of things.
Every game full of kids hve " the worst community".

No thanks.
So you are defined solely by the fact that you are a woman? Are you saying you speak for all women, and that's why it's relevant? If it's just, "who you are," to make sure everybody in the rooms knows for sure that you're a girl, how is that anything besides attention-seeking? It doesn't add to the conversation in any meaningful way (again, unless you speak for all women) because you shouldn't have any video-game related thoughts or opinions on the basis of your gender -- and to say otherwise is sexist... You know, like Reallyguys said. That said, keep your avatar, name and when necessary feel free to mention your a woman -- I won't think less of you for that. Your life shouldn't be defined by your gender, though.
I can't even post that I am female without getting flamed for being an ewhore. Edit:
listen to all the wonderful advice from men (on a forum where it's being discussed that this is the worst community) on how to be and act like a woman, or a non stereotypical gamer-girl. No thanks.
ugh, "your thoughts about me don't matter because your gender is different" If you want me to go get a girl to tell you you're stupid too I can, but it shouldn't matter. Also there's a small handful of female mods. It's pretty diverse here. One has a butt pic floating around somewhere and they aren't regarded as an "e-whore" because they're a respectable poster who doesn't talk about their gender all day. Edit: Rethinking about the asking someone of the female gender to post against you, judging by your posts and personality not even just judged from here but profiles you've linked elsewhere, you'd probably just denote them as jealous of your looks/breasts, which you so weren't looking for attention by posting up as the first thing we see on your twitter without a shirt on.
