That was actually my original avatar but I changed it because I was told by a few members it was too ewhore-ish for this site. I mean, since you are taking snapshots and saving them to post on the forums anyway, maybe I should have just left my avatar. There is no situation where mentioning my gender is necessary, but you taking a snapshot of my twitter so everyone can judge something unrelated to this forum is totally appropiate.
Perfect.
1. I didn't call people kids, I called kids kids. I didn't claim anyone didn't have girlfriends, I said the ones without tend to either white knight or reverse white knight and attack. The more mature members care less. I stick by that. :)
2. For you, there is never a situation. I accept that. Don't tell your gender. For me, there is. I prefer not to be a random anonymous person hiding my identity to appease disgruntled gamers that have chips on their shoulders. Can you accept that?
3. That's the profile and my photo (not the background one, that's a google image). They could have just clicked under my name (on this forum) if they wanted to see that, but I guess posting a snapshot was necessary. Good work.
Stereotypical gamer girls and hackers, let's get rid of em!
If you want me to go get a girl to tell you you're stupid too I can, but it shouldn't matter. Also there's a small handful of female mods. It's pretty diverse here. One has a butt pic floating around somewhere and they aren't regarded as an "e-whore" because they're a respectable poster who doesn't talk about their gender all day.
Edit:
Rethinking about the asking someone of the female gender to post against you, judging by your posts and personality not even just judged from here but profiles you've linked elsewhere, you'd probably just denote them as jealous of your looks/breasts, which you so weren't looking for attention by posting up as the first thing we see on your twitter without a shirt on.
Judging by what you said, no girl should post anything to me as a female because there is never a situation where gender should be used on this site.
Edit. For the record, I never talked about "gender" all day, except in this thread regarding this being the "worse" community. I added my own experience of being flamed for saying, "As a girl, I tend to play more passive." I definitely never mentioned my looks, breasts, or how any other female should be jealous of me in any way shape or form. I am sure some people find my picture hideous, and that's okay. I'm not ashamed, which is why I used it as my avatar to begin with.

Didn't read
This was an informative post.
Ok, I'm done arguing back and forth. It adds nothing and only spoils the forums for me a bit more. The game, amazing! The community, not so much. Unless it's a bannable thing, I am going to be myself and just deal with the flames and rude responses.
I'm okay with that. Take care guys and sorry for derailing.
I can say, I'm a guy, and I play the game very passive. To the point that I gave up on the game since even on passive, PvE servers, the trolls would eventually come in just because they could.
To me the game was about the survival aspect, the collecting, building, growing... even when I had guns my favourite weapon was still the bow, and if I was raided, I packed up and moved onto the next server.
I played on the same server as ness, and it was actually one of my favorite ones since the server admin actively worked to try and keep the game peaceful, and not once while I was there did the fact she was female enter into it. There was no hey look I have tits give me wood or kevlar which I see many women / girls doing. There was no hey i'm a girl and just died, come rescue me, which I also see many doing, she played just like any of the rest of us and it was good times.
Now i'm sure people will flame me aswell, saying oh I'm just white knighting since she's a girl and has tits, but really... don't give a **** have at it :)

What a coincidence that you came out of nowhere, a minute after her post, after 3-4 weeks with no posts whatsoever, at 9 posts in total with your first post also being gender related to defend her for being a sexist hypocrite, and starting this conversation out of nowhere for no reason.

Unless of course you count the whiners who complain about the "slow development" of the game. Which just attract more flames and trolls. Can't we, I dunno, maybe try and help each other. The carebear attitude doesn't work for playing Rust, but these forums ought to be something different than what the Rust mentality is. Rust is the game, this is the community. How about we just stop being dicks to each other all the time? I know, it's a foreign concept, but isn't it worth a shot? Maybe the lack of communication is due to the fact that every time Garry and Maurino have come in here to talk to us, they've been flamed or are responding to flame threads calling them idiots about how they're developing their game.
TLDR: Stop being assholes to each other.

Lets call a spade a spade here, you both ran with this straight to the spank bank. You know it, your keyboard knows it.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and how they want to express them selves. Everyone is also entitled to be able to comment on other peoples opinions especially if they disagree. This is the double edge sword that is free speech. So with that said lets settle this like civilized folk and at high noon you both meet up at small rad town, take 12 paces, then turn and shoot but only from the hip with a 9mm. Winner gets last word on this thread :)
For most of my 100+ hours of playtime I just ran around putting myself at risk to help people, joined a clan eventually comprised of people I had helped before and they burned me via firing squad a few days later. Pretty spooky. Now I'm just mostly bored hopping from server to server breaking into places and looking around. Usually end up destroying all my items before leaving. One time me and a friend had broken into like 10 houses and then people started joining saying "what fuck happen to haus" then when they were fixing up I walked into their home and stood there for awhile and killed myself to leave items behind.
Then we came back naked with torches chanting ugachugaugachugaugachuga then I killed myself with C4 on the wall they put up and we all disconnected simulatneously. I had the rest of what wasn't destroyed, their friend was pretty amused but themselves were pretty mad.
Just gotta have fun and not care what happens to you.

Doesn't do me any favors actually. Do people actually get turned on by pictures of women with no visible face, gravity-less breasts in a bra, and a controller? Rhetorical of course. I just started trying to get us back on track so don't let this get us derailed again.

I guess you missed the "To the point that I gave up on the game since even on passive, PvE servers, the trolls would eventually come in just because they could" I haven't played rust in 3 weeks, so why would I have any posts. And while it may be coincidental I replied when I did, I'm at work, I'm bored, so I thought I would come see if anything has changed in the game.

As for going back on topic... I don't think the community here is any better or worse then anywhere else. It seems no matter what game you play, be it league, wow, rust or cod there is always those who do nothing but troll. I wouldn't even say it's the younger generation, the anonymity of the internet leads to those in the older age ranges also doing so "just for fun".
The reason it seems more so in rust, is because the playerbase isn't on the same level, so the ratio of trolls, insults, and in general immaturity seems more increased without the other side of the coin to balance it out. As the game grows, and as the playerbase and community grows, it should get better.

Speaking of whiners. Don't whine if you are going to complain about whiners, it's counter productive.
This community is all over the place and I can't even post that I am female without getting flamed for being an ewhore. True story.
yeah complain about being called an ewhore but you have a picture of yourself half naked playing a game... Great job, you really sure do help the Stereotype of gamer girls! I sure am proud of you!

Reading through this whole thread answered the question posed in the title.
The answer is yes or right up there at the top.
GTA Online is much worse..
2. For you, there is never a situation. I accept that. Don't tell your gender. For me, there is. I prefer not to be a random anonymous person hiding my identity to appease disgruntled gamers that have chips on their shoulders. Can you accept that?
Firstly, yeah, nobody should've brought your life outside of the forums into here. I don't care about your pictures. And nobody is asking you to hide your identity, and that's really the crux of my comment -- be open with your gender if it actually informs your opinion on the argument. Keep your avatar. If your position is simply, "I'm a girl gamer," though, than I'm not interested. Surely you've more depth than that, given that you post fairly eloquently.
And by the way, in my mind, we were just having a conversation -- I didn't intend to be hostile, and if I've come off that way, I'm sorry. I don't agree with the people who are posting your Twitter stuff or whatever. That's not cool (and is likely against forum rules).

Honestly, who the fuck cares?
This will not happen, just like in real life.
You can't agree with everyone (unfortunally)
There is a massive age difference most of the times. Kids of 11 are playing this,
and people of 40+ are playing this.
Most of the time people think they know it better, they are awesome and the other people are just "noobs"
So yeah, it's hard.
How to keep most kids away from this game
Force Nude Models
Give a M rating
Before purchasing make DoB requirement.
You'll still have kids, but less of them as parents walk in and out of rooms.
If parents see there kid with a Nude Chick running around and a nude guy, they prob wont stand for it.
Honestly, who the fuck cares?
Fair enough. Shit got hot way, way too fast.
Give a M rating
nah man, everyone knows M stands for "Mommy bought it for me", Garry's gotta make the esrb give a AO rating since no self-respecting self-righteous American parent would ever consider buying such a game
(even though the game probably is gonna offend the ESRB so much that it'll get an AO rating anyway, penises in my vidya james oh my lord)
tbh video game communites are all pretty horrible and I don't even need to name names they all have large amounts of 5-star S-tier shitposts in em, this is the nature of online multiplayer so it's not anything special as far vitrol goes

What are you impling by saying "no self-respecting self-righteous American parent would ever consider buying such a game" ?
When I first started playing I basically shared the same attitude but the key is really to just find a good server with an active and neutral admin and the game really opens up. The first server I played started out okay, took a few tries to get established and there were a couple days of playing where I met a few bad eggs and plenty of helpful players. Then it just turned to shit with one gang of players that got fed up with another gang's antics and everyone else was caught in between and everyone became KOS. Then the server was wiped and all that work was lost. I took a break for about a week having been fed and am now established in a new server that has just been great. The admin will boot people for spamming up the global chat with slurs, etc. and doesn't tolerate pure griefing. There aren't too many airdrops so there isn't an abundance of C4 and the one main crew that does have it seems to only target other players that basically ask for it by starting feuds with them. If you are lone wolfing you can pretty much keep to yourself and meet other likeminded players. I've amassed enough resources to build basically whatever I want and will sometimes even stalk down the few players who do KOS fresh spawns and other "crimes". My favorite way to pass the nights is setting traps for these players like camp fires to draw them in and hit them with the bolt action when they inevitably go stalking after the "noob" who set a fire out in the open at night. If you want to find out who these players are (often they don't use the global chat) just run around nude for a while and wait til someone caps you unprovoked. Then respawn at camp, gear up, and go! There are endless ways to enjoy this game even in it's early stages so long as you find the right server and are at least somewhat careful.
TLDR: Find a good server with active/neutral admin who doesn't abuse airdrops and this game really opens up. Lone wolf FTW!
