Bit more info on this, just so people know what's going on. I asked EAC to check up on it. Here's what we know: the ban is correct, and the player has more than one ban. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198277118594 - linked here, paid cheat. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198110575243 - previous names shared with the one he used to post here, VAC banned. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198003770358 - Rust banned, paid cheat, shares username with previous banned account. Check the previous usernames, the shared friends, and the name shared with the poster here on the forum on the second link. We know it's the same person (though I'm not sharing all the details). We know he has been banned from Rust once before, and from another game as well. He has also popped up on the forum before, here: https://facepunch.com/member.php?u=663475 His posts under that name made it clear he had hacks running. So what's going on? Well, it's a tactic. It's the cheaters trying to create some background noise of doubt. I don't think it's so they can be unbanned, but probably so they can get us to do a little bit of work--this is EAC's job so that's not an issue--and also so the people who do the job of banning seem unreliable. They're not.
*wrecks the op*
beautiful work from both yourself and the boys at EAC:)

As if only having one game and 9 friends with 192 hours wasn't shady enough. Totally not an alt guys!
And when the hacker was on my roof I told him "Enjoy the ban buddy I reported you." he simply stated "you think i give a fuck you can buy this game for $4 in Russia"
May I still enter and say something quite offtopic? The game really does cost a bit more than $4 here in Russia. With the current USD~RUR course, anyways. And not in any keyselling sites or something. In steamstore. It's cheap. You can buy ONLY TWO bottles of vodka for this money. Now, I've got a question that came up just when I was thinking about what to write in this post. I know that these prices are a part of Steam policy about Russian piracy and stuff, that we've got single-player games twice as cheap as anybody, but they are region-locked, blah-blah-blah. Attention: question. Do gamedevs get less money from sales in Russia, and if so, how does Steam coordinate it with them? Are they informed about that stuff at all?
Lol that's some funny shit. Love you guys
this is just beautiful
To be exact, it costs 5.37 USD to buy rust in russia.
I need to move to a place where I can get two bottles of vodka for five bucks...
Wow that's way to cheap. No wonder hackers just keep buying the game. Need to up that shit Garry. Make then work for it. And more money for the devs

I love that the hacking community is now encouraging users to whine that "it's not fair to get banned just on my name". As if the ban is actually by name and not SteamID.

Any chance we can get our $20 cost drop down to maybe even $10?
Any chance we can get our $20 cost drop down to maybe even $10?
You must suffer under the yoke of pig-dog capitalism and pay the listed store price in US Dollars, comrade. Welcome to regional pricing, it's a thing. A dollar has different amounts of power in various places in the world. In India $10 will feed a family of six a four-course meal at a decent restaurant.
maybe the vodka fell on his keyboard and started up some rust hacks
Then i bought Rust at russia for this low price it was near 15 dollars. I understand why you worry about cheaters at only 5 dollars price but i want to remind you that with this "new price"(which really didnt changed for us) we didnt get higher salary, so... For us Rust costs exactly like 1-2 years before
even so I believe the game has got to the point where is just worth more. I could pay more for his game per content that I would when rust was in legacy. Say 35$ to 40$
