More likely than not, people will spawn with nothing at all, probably just a rock that does nearly no damage, but can be used to gather resources, the idea being you will work your way up to a hatchet

that is way too long. many players die within like 10 minutes of spawning. it should be in between 5-10 minutes, not an hour.

I'd go with this, and ake medkits another non-stacking item that is non-consumable, filling up kos/quick looter inventories even faster.

With the med pack issue something that might work is put a 4 sec application moment were u can only crouch and walk wile heal. just a idea that stops ppl from just popping them and this idea make the game that little more real. Even thou its a little thing it will build up alongside other realistic implements u have put in. another idea was with grenades is that u can hold to aim but have only a limited time to hold grenade out to throw. you can make unlimited medic pacs once you get a bleeder...
only difference is instead of right clicking for a bag of blood they have to hack and slash at a guy for 1 medic pack.. much slower

How about people that respawn a lot of times in a row and die and continue to do it in the same space would spawn with 0 stuff only hatchet sound much better after a certain amount of time they would spawn normally :)

Or just make a medkit named "Starting medkit" which does everything the same, but isn't lootable by others?
