I fail to see how an animation on a monitor can make anyone sick?
It sounds like you're saying that ... because you don't understand it, it's probably not happening. Surely you can't be suggesting that? I can't believe that anyone would hold such a solipsistic world-view.
it doesn't bother me in any way.
That's great, but it is affecting other people, and that's who, and what, this thread is about. I'm catching the same symptoms. I've reported it, so now my plan is to wait it out until it's playable again.
I'm not sure, but I feel like this was toned down since I saw it in the dev branch. Maybe I'm just getting used to it, but I could swear the horizontal sway has been reduced. Still not a fan, but if it hasn't been changed then I suppose I'll get used to it completely.
Yep, never had a problem in any game before but I cant watch while gathering stone or wood. Eyes dry out and dizziness.
So we needed another thread for this? the game has gone to shit, it will probably be a few months before anything is done about this, look how long it took to reduce the map size and get a massive performance boost.

Loving rust at the moment. Starting fresh on a server 10times daily right here :) Garry wants us to go out and explore the world, I explore all the time, looking left and right, up and down for a new place to set up camp. Cheers Garry mate :)
Fixed? You know this about the motion when swinging something in 3rd person? you reply is not even relative to the conversation at hand ???
still no fix !? rly ?
Yes, please fix this. At the very least let us disable/limit the sway.
That would be because this is a game FEATURE, not a bug. Take Dramamine, and deal. :)
That would be because this is a game FEATURE, not a bug. Take Dramamine, and deal. :)
omg really? its an aweful feature. I'm disappointed in the people that seem to think that this is funny or humorous. its sad a game i once enjoyed I cant enjoy anymore. I have been in contact with facepunch regarding this. Motion sickness is a very real condition. its not fun. Many many many people suffer from it. for you YOhimba to say deal with it is arrogant and childish.
This new headbob feature definitely gives me motion sickness. I'm not upset about it or anything, but it has made the game difficult to play for me. I get pretty nauseous after a few moments of looking at the screen while gathering. There must be something different about it compared to the noticeable headbob in Legacy - I played hundreds of hours of that and never had a problem with the screen movement. Not sure what it is exactly - something about the warped perspective that occurs when swinging melee weapons. I can see where people on both sides are coming from - the 'fix it!' guys and the 'deal with it!' crowd. IMO it could be toned down a bit - it would be shame to alienate/discourage a large group of people over a gameplay feature. A toggle option or intensity slider would be a good solution. Those who don't suffer from motion sickness and enjoy the realism it provides could keep it on full blast, and those that do could tone it down or turn it off completely.
Those who don't suffer from motion sickness and enjoy the realism it provides could keep it on full blast, and those that do could tone it down or turn it off completely.
It's not even realistic how the character rocks his head back and forth like that though.. Personally it does not make me sick but I did notice it was quite intense and when I played a little Legacy I had a great feeling of stability and focus. I very much like games where the aim is extra precise and the view very raw, static, clear (not blurred by motion blur etc). I think the best examples of this are the Counter-strike series.
