Terrible lag after update on original rust and other issues

Oh and the loading time is longer
I have noticed longer loads but I haven't noticed any lag
how can an update that should not affect rust original create such problems?
how can an update that should not affect rust original create such problems?
It's game development :) there's a reason we always say it's as complicated as it is :)
So far they only need to do a tiny hotfix or something because I backed everything up, reinstalled the server and then transferred all data and plugins over to the new server and everything except the loading screen is just fine.
But once it loads, it's still smooth.
Feel free to come and try it out for yourself since there is zero lag just like before this update.

Is there any way to downgrade back to what it was? and when it comes to the new weapon holding or whatever this scale is, please fix it ASAP.
Could you take a screenshot or copy the text of those console error messages?
Hit F1 as it started to lag and this is what i was seeing.

Sorry didn't know how to upload a screen shot.
Yes we are getting extreme lag issues.
Few other issues have been mentioned but also muzzle flash is not positioned correctly and blinds you!
Is there any way to downgrade back to what it was?
Nope. Welcome to alpha. If you downgrade, that's not fixing the issues, it's backing away from the problem. If that was how bugs were solved, Rust would be a single red button that prints "sorry" on the screen.
This will get fixed soon enough.
And i think the servers that don't show up are the ones where the name is starting by special characters.
Please fix this quickly ! People will leave servers !
For example [UK] Started 11/06/14 Noob Friendly/Active Admin/Airdrop
173.199.73.210:28016
is not showing up
Servers that begin with [ will not show up, and this was specifically set by garry.

Server admins need to update their names.
why is it stupid?
why is it stupid?
Its stupid because people keep putting repeated characters etc to get the server higher in the server lists... Its rather annoying
im lagging tooooooooooo :(

Servers disapeared, different graphics, lagging like hell... why the hell is this update like this?
along with lag the fov of the dev branch seems to be with everyone so there are no world view models of the guns torches rocks ext and the torch is bugged with no flame

I am, as well as most of the players on my server which was wiped 2 days ago and currently has less than 20 active players.
Several of us are also running pretty heavy hardware which ran the game at high(~75+) fps without any problems yesterday.
I'd also like to add that the loading screen seems a lot slower than previously, which has also been reported by some of "my" players.
EDIT: I'd like to add that it's not lag per se, but FPS-drops down to 0 for however long it lasts, with the occasional frame update every 5-7 seconds or so, resolution doesn't seem to matter. There's no difference in GPU or CPU load, and I'm normally running the game at 120+ FPS on 5910x1080.
in console i get this during lag spikes that only occur during night time
"Skipped frame because GfxDevice is in invalid state [devuce lost]"
day time i have no issues. only have 0fps lag attacks during night cycle on brand new vanilla server.

First of all, legacy Rust is now on Unity 4.5, not 4.0. So that's a big change.
Some servers are missing because the server list now has certain filters on it, as mentioned previously in this very thread.

Game freezes for about 40 seconds then gets back to normal. This happens every 30 minutes or something. Happened to me in 3 different servers. Played on official just to make sure and, within an hour, same happened. Yesterday it was fine and I didn't install anything differente so... might be the update?
Off-topic: can't even start Experimental atm... many errorrs.
at some point sound cut off , bad lag, torch flame disappeared. After that I couldn't connect even after restarting the program.
Have they found a fix yet? Or is there a way to get an older version back?
The lag is unbearable.
Hi Garry,
I don't understand why the old version needed to be changed at all.
Most people understood you were working on the new version as a separate game and were happy to just play with what we had that was working fairly well until you were finished.
This update to the old version has just broken things that were working and made the game load ridiculously slow.
It also means that any mods (Oxide, Magma, etc.) now need to be updated again.
What other changes have been made to the old version have been made besides broken smoke grenades, filtering characters in server names, making the game very slow to load, resetting game options?
I don't see anything about what was actually changed.
Please leave the old version as is while you work on the new version of the game, we are happy to just have the old version to play while you keep working on the new version.
Server admins and players have all got used to the issues with the old version and are quite happy to keep working around them until the new rust is released.
This has just thrown an unnecessary spanner in the works for the old version which will create mayhem for a few days until the modders can release new versions, server rental places then need to update all their stuff, server admins then need to deal with updating servers and the mods and any associated issues with that.
I am baffled why anything needed to be done to the old version unless you were fixing issues like sleeping bag spawning in rocks, hackers or other things in that old version.
I assume it is too late to roll back to the old version...
IMHO there needs to be a rollback or a quickfix for this!!
Our server has this issue, every 3-4 min there is a lag spike where everyone falls at like 1 frame per 10-15 sec, lasts about a minute. Everyone on the server experiences it at the same time.
On my server, we get quite a few lagging issues. When a day cycles to night or vice-versa, FPS drops to 1-2 and the Rust Console is full of red error messages.
> condition still not met:Controlalble.localPlayerControllableExists == true ( X frames later )
> Took 2020 additional frame(s) for condition Controlalble.localPlayerControllableExists == true
There's also severe rubber-banding issues and "crouch" lag, where it seems like our characters are doing squats. The entire server experiences these issues. We're not sure if it's our Server host or if it's something up with the game itself.
Whenever we have the rubber-banding issues and lag, this error shows in the Console:
> Resynchronize Clock is still in progress. Please wait X ms
Some info:
Our server is hosted in Los Angeles, CA, and the IP is 23.239.109.130:28035.
If there's any additional information needed to help solve this issue, please let us know what we can do.

It's game wide, our server has the same issues. People get angry and say it's the server. We lost pop. because of it sadly :/
All this update to the OLD version has done is cause major issues.
Please roll it back, leave it alone and just work on the new version.
We are all happy to wait for the new version and know you are working hard on it.
At Revolt, we do not have any issues with lag.
However 10% of our customers have experienced some FPS drops from time to time. The console seems to be empty of errors in our case. The server not appearing in the browser tabs is also something that occur for the small percentage we mentioned. I had them monitored for the past hours since the update, and did not see any errors.. I thought it was our side of the things, but obviously its the Client. Which is fine, because its an alpha game after all, so could not complain.
Best of luck to fixing the issues. I am sure you guys will do it quick.
Oh and the loading time is longer
The loading time now is huge. Even for fast computers with the game installed on an SSD!
This is just sad.

Can't really agree more.
Garry or someone said that now the game is running on a newer Unity. Please, go back to the old one.
EDIT:
"EasyAntiCheat Service executable not found", experimental won't even start here... wow, this update was rushed or something, I just can't see why.
brutal intermittent lag spikes on every server I've tried today.. everyone's fps drops to single digits for 10-20 seconds then it's gone. Also, I can probably fry an egg or two on my mac now..
Same here!
Everything has been solid for me, server is responding normally and none of my players have been complaining about lag.
I take it back, server did a random restart and now it's lagging like all hell. I go from 80FPS to 0FPS for about 15 seconds
