Thanks,
I have an update coming today which definitely include a rotate tool (managed by right click) which can be used when you have say a wall - which can occupy the same position but in 2 different directions.
Trying to squeeze the stairwells in but its a little more complex then the walls, doors etc.
Thanks, ceilings and doors not working for you? They should be available
No doors, definitely no doors available.

Oh, I was thinking doorways. Doors will come eventually.
Do you have plans to add spike walls and gates too?
This is fantastic, Geordie! Can't wait to see the finished product!
Suggestion: a selectable "remove" feature as opposed to just "undo" last placement.
Bravo Zulu, mate...1000 thank you's!

Thanks :)
And thanks to Armada who pinged me a bug regarding the rotate functionality - i'll get this fixed as soon as I can (at work at the moment i'll try and do it over my lunch).
The delete functionality will take a bit time - I can easily do it now for things such as walls and doorways. But for things that provide support for other elements such as pillars and ceilings it becomes a bit difficult. Busy putting together a structure monitor to keep track of all supporting features. If it is supporting something you will not be able to delete it. Hopefully this is clear :)
I also had a bug raised regarding the resource requirements - originally it wasn't being updated when the undo function was used. This is now fixed.
This is great. Can you please add "W/A/S/D Keys to move the camera forward back left and right (strafe) maybe Q/E for rotate without the mouse?!?? I would really like to travel into the base and use those keys to move the camera while I'm using the mouse to place objects.
Lastly Could you put in a counter of the "items" we used? so that i could see how many walls / pillars ect to prefab? The added Planks is nice.. but the items used would be better! Thanks so much this is a awesome tool!

Thanks, I'll have a think about the camera and see what I can do - it may have to be done via selecting a different mode or something along those lines.
The extra item detail shouldn't be too difficult.
Also I'm not sure why but when i built my 5 x 5 and THEN put another layer around of foundations i couldn't anti greif all of it. Something is wrong placeing ALL the pillars. Take a look i tried to provide screen shots to show you where i could NOT place pillars to antigrief the base.

you sir.. are awesome.. Thank man. Can't wait till there are metal doors windows stairs ect ect your doing a great job! keep it up man love it!! This is a great way for me to burn time at work when i'm supposed to be working. Way to get me fired...... LOL! <3
I'll see if I can replicate that issue - give me 10 minutes.
Thanks,
Jonathan
Also looks like "doorways" got cut off at the bottom, can't see it adding them up. I also tried reducing my zoom level on the browser. Doesn't seem to help. Could it be firefox? Hmm I'll test it out more.
*damnit couldn't edit in time your too fast* Moved to a new post below.

I can replicate it so shouldn't be difficult to fix.

I thought about that - the menu is really stacking up. I might move the resource panel over the the top right.
Thought of one more thing, Maybe a Compass of some sorts, or a ground indicator (tree or rock) on the ground something to give cardinal direction when talking to a friend about the base..
"Look on the north side of the base, you'll see the pillars i put in" ect ect.. Just something to show direction of the base esp for those that build them with symmetry.
Yeah that could work fine! :)
Or just make the text size 1 smaller.. so 14 to 12 ect ect.

How's the text now?
Looks good it all fits and is easily readable.
Just letting you know that it does not work in Safari. I am able to get it working in other browsers though. Just something to look into.
Do you have a banner or anything for your site or something you can whip up? I'd love to give you a link on our website www.RustHelper.com
We aren't looking to make something like this but would love to link to your site since you're already working on it. We do have a creative server already but this is a great resource as well. It looks absolutely fantastic and I will recommend it to others thru our site.

Just saying this is still so awesome, i've made many base designs based on this. can't wait for the next version!
This is a great tool. I would disagree with a previous comment on changing the controls. Anyone who works in the 3D industry, and uses MAYA, 3DSM, etc knows that you control your camera movements with your mouse.
WASD is for gaming, not for 3D model building; which is what this is.
Ummmm... whats this then? :)

I'm busy looking into an issue which stops you from adding a wall or doorway in certain gaps... if any of you see this and spot a pattern as to why its happening let me know, it may help me fix it quicker :)
[editline]17th March 2014[/editline]
Some notes to go with that change :)
Update 0.4 (17-03-2014)
Stairs are now in place :)
Bug Fix - Pillars now place correctly when applying to the outside of the base. Thanks to Loominal for pointing that out.
Bug Fix - a slight rotation bug has been amended.
I'm looking into an issue regarding walls and doorways not placing down in certain areas - maybe something to do with the introduction of the stairs item.
Last Bug I found. Is when placing pillers on every spot of a foundation raise it 3+ floors you can put a wall THROUGH pillars in between pillars past the 2nd floor and up. Even tho it should NOT allow you too.

This is because of the RIGHT CLICK for the stairs.. Once you right click to "flip" the wall or Doorway you can then place it.
oh and don't forget to add the count to the stairs... so it's counting stairwells...

Thank you very much... i'll look into it

The first one makes sense actually, slight oversight by me :p
A little base I'm thinking about building :)

Update 0.5 (18-03-2014)
Bug Fix - resolve an issue where walls cannot be placed without clicking the right mouse button before hand.
Bug Fix - Some ceilings could not be placed when a ceiling already exists half a square away.
I have some major refactoring to do where structuring is concerned. This is aimed at creating an easier way to check for supporting items and is essential if I'm to introduce a delete function.
Hey IGeordie is there a certain browser that this runs smoother on? I'm using it on Google Chrome and its kind of laggy when rotating the camera.
Also great job on the website.

That's odd as Chrome tends to be the smoothest I've seen. What version of Chrome are you using?
Anyone else have issues with this?

I am using, Version 33.0.1750.152.
I've added the tool to Twitter :) I thought it might be a better way of keeping people up to date with updates. I will still keep posting on this forum at the same time.
