Female character option - Rust

MORE character models and MORE ways to differentiate yourselves IS A TOP PRIORITY!

it's definitely not something that they should make a priority right now, but i'll add my two cents on this. it is awkward as fuck hearing a chick's voice coming from a bald, naked man. i do hope they add not only the option to be female, but also some character customization. it's incredibly annoying not knowing who the hell anyone is until they are right in your face. this game is meant to simulate a survival situation. even irl people can at least recognize familiars. you won't have as many instances of accidental shooting and will have less confusion in group pvp.

As much as I love the idea of a female character added to the game, I think they should focus more on current character diversity like skin color, hair color, and possibly height or girth first. If they focus on those first, and iron out any bugs or clipping, then it would be easier to add a whole new character model.

Here is my rant on this. [rant] This is like how Girls complain when Men leave the toilet seat up. look at portal, the main protagonist is a Women yet I do not care and most Men do not care, we actually like the idea. On the other hand, in Rust we have this Male "protagonist", and we have people wanting a women character, because it "feels weird" being a "guy". To me this is wanted by all those little boys who want to run around as women with these "super boobs". I do agree some people legitimately want women characters because it feels weird, but just deal with it. Again with the toilet thing, do men complain when you girls leave the toilet seat down? No, so learn to deal with it. Also it just seems to be women complaining, not Asians or blacks complaining that the character isn't black or Asian. In the end I agree that Character customization is a nice idea but it seems like political correctness is coming into play because of the fact that there are just men. I think it is just that, and honestly I don't like it I want it to be different and not "correct" [/rant] Sorry If I seem bigoted but I am not, it is just you.

I'm a girl and I don't mind playing as a dude. You don't even see your character yourself, so why does it matter? I honestly do not see why your wife is making such a big deal out of it. It's an alpha, she can't expect to have everything she wants in it. It's really silly to not play a game just because of that. It's like saying you're not going to drink from a blue cup because it's not pink. Edit: I do like the idea of a female character though, it just sounds fun.

My wife has expressed a similar sentiment which seems to imply she'd play if there was a female model (one day there probably will) but she's not super excited about it and the lack of one just tips her over from the "would play" box to the "rather not".

I think that female characters wont stop people killing them couse there is always some little kids that just would shoot nude chicks and start t-bagging. and if u didnt understand my english there is ALWAYS little kids that r just waiting for puberty

I think female characters will improve the morals of the post-apocalyptic male rust population and will reduce irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights and assaults.

I am a woman, and honestly I like that everyone is exactly the same right now. No one has a gender at this point because there is nothing differentiating people from one another. Even the men who have male models - you don't really know that they're men. They could be potatoes. We don't know. I like that for the time being. I don't like getting special treatment just because I have a cooter, positive or negative attention alike. If someone doesn't want to play the game simply because there aren't female models, then I don't think I'd care to play with them anyhow.

Because the playerbase is mostly nolife guys geeks without any sexlife exception of pixelbased ? (aka Sad but true) But honestly I doubt its really that much about pixel breasts rather simply a female counterpart to the male majority. But honestly I don't see that much of a big deal with the whole thing, honestly if a lady model suddenly appeared people would think it was some sort of a new zombie or something.

I'm equal opportunity. Just because you are female doesn't mean I won't split your skull with a pick if you look at my charcoal hoard the wrong way. Also, I'm like 90% sure most of these "girlfriends, wives and sisters" would suddenly not want female characters if they came with a mandatory removal of character nudity.

I don't really understand it, it's a video game, played in first person. She doesn't see her own body in game, what does it matter if she looks like a female to others or not? Most people in the game don't know her anyways.

I'm sure most of the people asking for a female char will then demand for the game to be 100% mouse driven so they can play one handed. I think they should only add an overweight female class, with hair on their legs, armpits and chin. All those guys above claiming to have "wives/gf who won't play" will then get their wish and have little reason to play one handed.

Has anyone here played WoW or WarZ? I can guarantee you 95% of the female characters you see will simply be men, like any other game.

Seems you cannot grasp the simple fact that a large portion of modern gamers are now women. Hell, most of my friends that I play with are female. So I have never understood why so many men seem incapable of comprehending that women make up much more than 1-5% of the gamer population.

So females do not play this game because of female character absence? Oh come on, what about black people? Or asian? Or small one? Or people that have long hair? The adding of character customization should be added only to increse player interest and in-game variability.

Instead, I will rely on the observable fact that I know so many gamers that are women that the number is almost enough to compare to my male friends that are gamers. Or the observable fact that female commentators are currently dominating most news sites like the Escapist, and other media outlets such as Twitch and Youtube. It just annoys me when people make the assumption that very few females play games. It just does not make any sense to make that claim in the modern age of gaming.
