I just did this on live last night. Tried out all the types of wooden walls, it works on all three. One of the times I was testing it though I randomly died with the simple message "You died."
It is the Live version.

Just logged in to find a crate next to my house and everything stolen. Lol. Hope you guys can fix this glitch, lost 4 hours of wood farming with my friends.

I was raided by someone exploiting this. It was very frustrating.
