Exactly the reason for it being 2 floors high :)
Bottom floor just has swap chest on it. Top floor has everything you want to store. Also put some doors up there for extra security.
So it beat a hacker guys. I got 3 bolt action rifles and 30 c4 from that encounter, hacker was killed

I agree but the stuff on the 4th floor would still be alright. Stuff on the 3rd floor could get blown up though.

Yes you can destroy crates, barricades, [...] with bullets, but you'r right, campfires could be a good way to prevent someone from jump-placing a sleeping bag on the border, next to the transfer crates.

I tried to jump place one and couldnt even jump high enough to see the floor to place it. Unless you are going to place a sleeping bag sideways on the wall your not gonna place one. So like I said, I can't say its impossible as you may be able to place one due to a bug, but it will be very very difficult. I don't think camp fires are necessary.
I'm sorry to say, there is absolutely no C4 proof base...
Maybe u can make "normal" players use all their C4 before they reach your stuff.
But the biggest problem is the duped C4.. nothing built can stand unlimited C4.
We had a base 3 times now.. a cheater C4'ed 50 doors and like 40 walls and he was completely alone.
The server was wiped 2 days before.. we killed him once and he had 2500 M4 bullets and like 500C4 with him.
So .. sadly there is no way to protect your base against those freakin hacker kids.
Even if u hide your Box with stuff.. they see it from far away through all of your walls.
They know exactly where to get in, to get your stuff.. and then they blow up the whole house just for fun.. not even for loot.
So until this is fixed.. its hard to enjoy your work and stuff that u collected over hours and hours.. ;(

Have you looked at the pictures/read the description of the construction?
As far as i understood this, it's impossible to place C4 on the "loot floor" and therefore 500 C4 wouldn't help much either.
I'm looking forward to a video of the transfer progress - can't really imagine how it's working exactly :D

Sadly they always find a way to reach the stuff.. noclip, ghosting through walls, build something near the building and jump over.. or just fly around.. there are many hacks at the moment.
But anyways maybe this building is worth it.. but i dont think its really comfortable to live in there.
I know its alpha.. so i guess we just have to wait.. and i really hope, they will address this issue in the near future.

there is no such thing as troll or c4 proof. all you can do is put enough barriers in between that raiding is never a net gain for them
This base has one huge flaw unfortunately in regards to where your supply crates are placed.

The only way to get into that base is by flying and no clipping. Nothing can protect from that except hiding your base in a far off obscure location. I deem this the most effective base at protecting from non hacker threats for a solo player. There is no better base for this and this model, once hackers are gone, should be used everywhere. The only problem I see is that once the house is built, if a friend comes then they must build their own home. Other then that though, 10/10

So you spend 10-15 minutes just hitting them, dying, respawning, and hitting them again. Far less time than it takes to gather the wood. Clearly a huge difference between a few minutes of lost time and a ruined base via a pillar or ceiling...

No reason to build it in metal since there is only 1 door :P you need 2 c4 to "break in" only you cannot go any further. Making it out of metal would only make it more expensive, it won't improve it's defense.
