Can't build anymore foundations near that, i don't think, that space in the rocks can only fit 1 1x1 foundation

but that middle pillar with his box on it will decay eventually

That depends...

Some time you can put the fundation a little far away from the house, but then make it higher than the house and you can jump a lot even if you lose most health. They did this on a server I was playing, and jumped from one house to the other even though you lose health.

I like this design, One thing that I am confused about is how do you place the barricade on the piller? Could you screen shot it close up? thanks. Or if you can make a video of the design, how to get in/out ect.

It's an interesting design, but despite the OP's claims to the contrary, it looks like you can build stairs see, you don't need the stairs to be close to the tower, because you can build them higher than it then jump down. It's still raidable, just difficult.
