I never stated DDoS attacks will stop. Please quote me. Most home connections lack of upload to host more than a 10pop server. DDoS attackers usually target bigger and popular servers, at least it will be on their end how to deal with it instead of waiting through customer service and server downtimes without and answer. Do you want to take bets that server files wont be released not even on final/official version?
I'm sure the server files will be released, just not on your terms, or mine, or anyone else's but Facepunch's. And what DDoS attackers "usually" do isn't the best defense. I'd rather the attack get pointed at the remote server than my personal internet. The attacks will subside, never completely, but I doubt they'll always continue to be such a detriment.
But nothing states you should host a server on your own house connection theres plenty of alternatives once server files are released. Theres plenty of good datacenters or at least better gsp than the current ones. As you stated, this is up to FP so there's nothing to discuss about. Im out.
Buy a server from a host and pay for the DDOS Protection? Our server is under protection and we are doing fine.
