Was watching a guy I follow on twitch was just playing it seemed so interesting to me its a new game for me sort of I hace played minecraft but its just with friends its small and being competitive is all im about its good to have something new and it would be like my first time to participate in something new and I could see how it changes from beginning to end would also like to take notes on how things are handled

There was a post on games.on.net about it, and it looked fun in that early SWG kinda way, and when I got in it totally delivered. I didn't really know what to expect, and getting shot a bazillion times was ...mildly irritating, until I made it out of the spawn zone and learnt a few things, such as make a sleeping bag or get fucked. Since then the pursuit to secure a home (it's practically impossible - I have to kill myself to spawn at my house), and research all the things I can, while collecting resources and building up armaments to shoot people in the dick and take their flare. The freedom and high stakes make it utterly satisfying.

I'm really interested in the demographics of the users that seem so eager to play Rust. One interesting thing is they seem to come from all over the world rather than the usual purely western countries. Other than that, I want FP back. ;_;

I'm interested in it because holy crap this forum is just an absolute slew of terrible posts and new guys asking for keys. I literally do not understand why people want to play it in it's current state - it's amazing to me. The mechanics seem like a mash-up of other games, the cheaters are rampant, there are non-stop complaints about players who kill on sight, the servers are routinely wiped, there's a lot that isn't done, the gameplay seems repetitive, and more importantly the developers are too focused on developing the game than shaping the community. (Which is understandable, except I'm worried that by the time they get the game done the community is going to be horrible.) The game is unfinished, the community is garbage, and it's just... It's like watching a bad movie that's so bad it's entertaining. I haven't played Rust and don't really care to do so before it's finished.

I love open world survival games

I wanted to play this game because I don't own many FPS games nor survival games so this seemed like a very nice game to play. And also I found out about this on Steam and forums etc etc. Cant wait till I can start playing and there are no more keys so you can just buy it. :zoid:

I saw some of the ingame images and thought it was some kind of joke, but now that new people join the forums just to try rust out, I don't know what to think. I would love to try it out but Im not gonna waste my time trying to get a key for the alpha. And I have to say these new members that join FP for the key are so pretensious, even in this thread every post by "july 2013" members sound like the only reason they are posting is the slight chance they could get that sweet rust key.

Because I'm superior to hundreds of people who would offer their first born for a key.

I've been on FP before, forgot my old account details back when I played Gmod. I play STALKER, DayZ (well, primarily Arma 2 with ACE/ACRE), and a bit of MC. This game looks promising, and I'm interested in its development. I don't expect it to be as good or similar to those games, but they're great titles, and all share some common themes. The zombie aspect is getting old as hell, but once the zombies are replaced with some other sort of NPC, proximity voice chat is added, and bugs start getting fixed, this game is going to be good.

Because this game is amazing scrib.

I think its because there is nothing worth playing atm. and the fact that this is newer with possible alpha/beta slots. a lot of people are "looking" for another game.

I love the aspect of zombie survival games and the fact that you can craft things, Two things from 2 different games which I love, DayZ and Minecraft

I'm surving my chamber right now. So I like this survival game.

I was watching some of frankie's videos and he had just uploaded a video on Rust. I decided to watch it cause it's frankie and the thumbnail said "garry's dayZ", cool I like dayZ and garry's mod so why not watch it? Anyway, frankie cuts up a rock then kills a pig. Zombies walking around and there's a good sized house in the middle of the woods. Fast foward to frankie murdering a small group of players... cool. Okay, now to where he has two foundations set down and starts placing pillars, walls, stairs, a door, and a sleeping pallet... Awesome. He says I can play the free alpha by going the site. So exited, thinking of what I can build, and what kind of people I will run into. I need to be gifted a key to play? Smart way of locking up a game to greifers and such, I was thinking about how i'm going to protect my project from unworthy players who want to cheat or... Anyway... I was interested in trying to play this fresh, not-trying-to-be-another-open world survival game-copy and/or spinoff-but-instead-something-different game. I wish I could test this new game -primarily how big a fortress it will allow me to make- and see just how much it has to offer. That is why i'm interested in rust.

I've only played Rust for about five minutes before quiting, I'd rather wait for a more refined late alpha/early beta build of the game before I sink my teeth in to it. Also because going at it solo(like most games) is pretty boring and I couldn't manage to score some extra keys for my friends. [sp]Don't message me about getting my account[/sp]

Already knew Rust was coming, dont feel like begging for a key off streamers though. Like that kid psi, come on... I cant even bare watching that stream And its all about friends politics with streamers anyway. I for one am NOT gonne pay to watch some kid play. I really hope garry realises he made a mistake by giving streamers keys, sure its good commercial, but not worth it in my opinion. Besides we all gotto see where this game is going in actual release. Im already worried about these new school gamer trolls. They arent funny at all :(

Ahh i admire this question. For me this is the game ive been searching high and low for. Actually i can honestly say ive been searching foor about a year or two only finding games like dead frontier or dayz. Dayz was promising but i needed to move on so i started my search again recently and i ran into some information on this game. From the many videos i have been watching i just cant wait till i can play and i can say that the developers of this game are GENIUS!!!! To them I say keep up the good work and i will be right along with them watching the game develop to its final stages. Again this is a very veryy good question and I am pretty glad you asked.

What kind of logic are you going on about? The Source Engine is pretty outdated in a lot of aspects, but Garry's Mod runs off of it, and Garry's Mod is pretty neat I'd say. Following your logic, I shouldn't play Garry's Mod. I don't know much about Unity3D, but he can say it sucks and have the right to talk about the game itself.
