Same problem for me.. And will have the same response from me if they aren't giving back ftp access etc.. That is, refund and bye bye!
I don't mind maintenance and I know there will always be times where they have to take down TCAdmin or turn off FTP for some amount of time for some reason but INFORM YOUR CUSTOMERS! Seriously, when all the uLink exploit stuff was going on I got an email almost once a day with a helpful update on the situation... Yet they can't even email me to tell me that a rather critical piece of my server that was advertised when I bought it is being removed or going down for maintenance? Srsly, inform the people. It doesn't take long to type up a quick batch email to everyone with a Rust server. EDIT: And please, HFB... if you're going to put up a pop-up notification that says you'll be back in a few minutes is it so hard to spell correctly and use some proper grammar? I mean, I know it doesn't REALLY make a difference... but it paints a picture about you as a company. It's not a pretty picture. "Well Be Back In A Few Minutes" should never be somewhere that a customer can see. For a company specializing in technical things like remote hosted servers, I expect some professionalism. :/ I know this is nit-picky, just bugs me.
I think regarding modded servers you guys gotta understand that modding is only about a week old and not 'officially' supported, this is all so new and a lot to take in. GSP's are still working out what action to take regarding this. They are a company and taking risks using this new stuff. That being said, pretty soon Neolith will be getting released (think Bukkit from minecraft?) which we will be moving all our plugins over to, it will be a well improved version of Leather.
My server through HFB is amazing. I love it. Smooth sailing, full control... fast set-up... Mine was up in less than 20 minutes.
i have servers on BMFR, HFB, FPS & Streamline and they all seem pretty good to me.
So what is the refund policy on HFB? Can I request cancellation and get my money back? Been waiting 20 hours for the server to be set up and I feel like it will take longer, really don't feel like waiting. Edit: Just told them to host it on Tampa, Florida instead. The NY node is the one getting all the traffic, which is why it is taking so long.

Been waiting 20 hours for the server to be set up and I feel like it will take longer, really don't feel like waiting. I asked them to host mine in a different datacenter as well. Doesn't seem to be affecting setup times though. It's now been over 24 hours and I'm cancelling. Edit: Just told them to host it on Tampa, Florida instead. I also requested to have my server setup in a different datacenter (dallas) but haven't heard anything from them and it's been over 24 hours now so I'm cancelling.
Another Update: I told them I'd like to "Instantly" have my server hosted somewhere else like an hour ago... No response, no server. Getting tired of this. Whoever says HFB has quick setup is stupid or lying.
Well, someone said HFB had quick setup and everyone went there to rent servers so now they are backlogged.. :P [editline]9th January 2014[/editline] Oh yeah, TCAdmin is back up on HFB, and guess what, now the mods are gone too....
Until HFB gets their current issues resolved, I would hold off. They made some pretty big changes to their servers today.
I started out with fpsplayers and they worked decent for a couple days and went down for days without a word. I ended up switching to hfb. Although it is a little on the slow side, and them having mod issues right now, the server has never went down on me without me knowing about it. I would say that hfb is better than fps.
Wish FPSplayers had lower prices like HFB. It is about 11 dollars more for a 100 slot server.
Not anymore :eng101: Kind Regards Sean, General Manager FPSplayers.com
hi, L begin the game with a hfb server, initial set up was fast, good ping, server stable but bad support (8-16 hours for a answer), he get many hack (delete save), server unknow etc.. And for the final, hfb give a other server with a same ip and same port at a other man, my server was down 3 days for this mistake..... And now l have a gmod eu, good support, server was initial set up fast 20 minutes but server not stable, lag.
Not anymore :eng101: Kind Regards Sean, General Manager FPSplayers.com
Wish you guys weren't so expensive 5 days ago... stuck with HFB till monthend.. then I'll have another look. By the way, you are advertising all mods, FTP access, etc... is this still true in light of the latest security issues with mods/ftp?

Not being able to mod my server is a pain in the ass and I'm looking for a new host that allows it.

I never had any problems with fps, they always respond to my tickets and very professional. Glad I picked FPS as my 1st choice.
