Just because this game is facing similar problems, at a similar time of development as War Z. Combat actually plays very similar (same feel).
Honestly I'm not sure why the DDoS attack hasn't been brought to the attention of the authorities *If the information of it having not been is true* I'm sure that Garry and others are trying to get it fixed though.

Because it's not just as easy as that. I don't see the authorities ever intervening, honestly. Nobody has actually admitted to committing the act, it's just a big mess.
I need to stop purchasing games that rely on "official" servers. I'm getting tired of my gaming time being dependent upon the condition of the servers. Not just if they are up or down, but what goes on in them when they are up (lag, hackers, etc).
Its too bad more and more games use this always online, multiplayer only method.
yeah this could go on for awhile because unfortunantly it doesnt take that much to ddos at all a simple press of a button and chill and watch the chaos unfold! only cost 200 buck

Dude, calm your horses. It's garry, he will let everyone use the server files eventually.
And i mean like, real server files. Not like in shit games like battlefield where "you can host your own server" by buying only from their "partners" without actually getting the files. Christ.
Its amazing how many people hate on WarZ. The development leaves much to be desired... but I rather enjoy the game for what it is.

Before reading teamvortex's post I was kinda thinking the same thing. I had been browsing around forums today all I see is negativity and infact "WarZ card". If you don't have any thing valuable to add to the thread, please don't participate in it. You already made your point like thousands time.
This thread is about servers and when they are going to be up. Every time a thread is created, somehow Warz and comparison comes up. If thread is going off topic, its better not to respond to it. One person start comparing games, other person starts criticizing the person and whole thread goes to shit.

There are certainly some things you can do to combat the DDoS. There will always be some extent of people that try it, and it all depends on what you do to prevent it that determines how effective they are.

actually he was caught in a false ban wave that was caused by the game crashing and logging back in too quickly and just like the others caught in it, was unbanned, however I recall Dexzeh was not unbanned on more than one account. As for cammo253 .... he admitted just yesterday on global chat that he cheated and that the accounts were his. And from what I can hear all the guys kicked from freaktm's clan admitted to cheating on their voice comms server when he asked them directly.
but hey keep trying to deny that half of you guys cheat in other games and pay for subscriptions to cheat websites. Atleast freaktm runs a tight ship and will not allow anyone to cheat or exploit in his group. He has already warned new members into the new clan that any cheating or history of cheating will see them kicked out immediately. (his clan is not called anzac by the way)

It's not an attack, it's thirteen separate attacks hitting every server simultaneously. Without seeing a Dstat or having access to logs it's impossible to know the exact output numbers but the attacks are most likely running in the 20-40Gbps range. DDoS mitigation for thirteen separate servers in that range could run anywhere from $6000-$11,000/month and even then the servers would be incredibly laggy. It's a lose/lose situation, nothing we can do but wait it out.
