I discovered this bug because of my flaky internet connection. While placing a sleeping bag I had some major lag issues and the game just wouldn't place the bag where I was clicking. After clicking for what felt like 20 seconds the connection issues went away and what I saw blew my mind: Instead of one sleeping bag there now were dozens of them on the ground. After some more testing I was able to reproduce this bug with the following steps: 1.) Put a placable structure in your hotbar and select it, so that the placement preview appears 2.) Disconnect your internet either physically or virtually (e.g. by pulling the network cord) 3.) While offline place the structure as many times as you want, it will not go away 4.) Reinstate your internet connection 5.) The item now should spawn several times at once This can be easily abused for the following purposes: - create megastructures in a few hours, [URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=RTC-n0u9gbs"]this one was mine[/URL] - use it to duplicate wood by placing a lot of campfires - use it to duplicate sleeping bags I haven't told anyone about this gitch, yet. Other people likely discovered this independently or have other methods to achieve item duplications. This would explain the many megastructures you talked about. My hopes are that this network desynchronization issue will go away with the new backend. If not, I hope it's fixable anyway. As fun as building these castles and fortresses is, it's a game-breaking advantage that no single player should have.
Did the devs go to sleep now? Are they still working on it? :/

I don't think it actually counts the players in-game, only those who are logged into the main page and viewing it.
We made a bunch of progress and are just waiting to tie up a few loose ends before pushing an update out, it should be sometime tomorrow!
I don't have the game but what is your opinion on the hacking, does it help you and your team refine the game?

Forgive me if I am ignorant, but why do you guys not code the updates while keeping the server online, and then take the server down for like an hour to test it on the main server?

Did you fix the fact you can log onto two different computers and have two of yourself in-game? That was how I duplicated ammo back when Rust was private.
