I had an account, but never used it.
I tried logging in to try out the game.
It wont let me login. I press the login button, nothing except shit happens.

Do items in boxes ever disappear? I'm pretty sure they can because I've left and not been raided but all my items are missing. And this happened yesterday so it wasn't someone wall phasing.

You are probably entering the wrong email/password. It doesn't actually tell you when you do, it just seems as if nothing is happening. Hope it halps

Have you checked all your doors? It might be that someone broke in and replaced them with their own doors.

Oh and Helk, or anyone of the devs who's reading this, i saw that you looked into my 'bug' i posted earlier, but now there's this new problem that's somewhat similair.
Today i built a few foundations next to my home and when i tried to put pillars on it the pillars wouldn't get at the right position but were like a few centimetres off of the good position. Both left and right side, also they glowed red. My friend's base is like a few metres away from it (on the left side) and we both think it's because the pillar thinks it belongs to his base. It takes the position of where a foundation connected to his base would be. Both our houses are on a hill, and hills are also the place where most building problems occure.

I thought i'd post it here also as the topic on github is pretty old already.
This is the topic i'm talking about:

I've had the same thing happen with the grid being messed up when trying to place objects sometimes.
I've had the same thing happen with the grid being messed up when trying to place objects sometimes.
Did this happen on a hill also? I've only had this problem on a hill so far. Haven't seen it on flat ground.

On a slight hill, yes.
On a slight hill, yes.
Alright, looks like this has to do with an uneven surface then, lets hope it will be fixed soon.

I had similar issues last night. Placed foundations an pillars, but one corner wouldn't snap to the right spot and wouldn't let me place it. One corner, I stood directly on top of where the pillar would go and it went green. Then, as I was working on other parts, I found one precise angle at which I could place the problem pillar. Maybe there are some detection values that need adjusting? I had to stand on my second floor and stand in *just the right* position for it all to work. Of course this was after I'd placed a bunch o other foundations to adjust my floorplan... :) hey it's early in dev though, this is to be expected!
Just had a really random bug happen in my house. I logged off and returned to all of my doors being backwards and wide open. I am not really sure how it happened or how to duplicate it as I was not even online. Just wanted to report it.
Ah I think I know what's going on with the pillar placement issue, can you guys confirm it happens only when you are building somewhat close to someone else's structure ? I'm pretty sure what's happening is its picking the other structure to snap to instead of yours, and the other structure doesn't have a foundation there so it goes red. If this is the case try building farther than 10m from someone else and it should be fine.
I'll check it out in the morning though thanks for the informative posts :)

Yes this is for sure the reason why. My pillars were trying to attach to the grid of my friend's base, which was a bit further away. Which resulted in me being unable to finish some of my walls.

Also, just curious, does the blue name mean Facepunchstudios developer? Rather than the green for mods.
encountered something fairly interesting. i tried to loot a red crate at the factory, and suddenly the time went from evening to midnight in a simple flash. so i decided to walk back to my settlement, and all of the buildings that were a part of my settlement were gone. every single building that was player-made was gone, npcs didn't exist, etc.
now, i tried to reconnect, and my screen just sits there at this. can't re-connect.

I think the server exploded or something.
Just so you all know, we're well aware of all the showstopping issues and are going to fix them ASAP. Currently we're redoing some of the backend which is preventing us from pushing an update out but rest assured we're doing everything we can to address the exploits, hackers, and lag!
HELK PLEASE RESTART THE SERVER. NOBODY CAN LOG ON.
Hmm I am not currently participating in the early alpha for I do not have a key. But a suggestion I would like to make about the forum page and massive amount is spammers, trolls, etc. There should be a process such as an extended registration or answering questions that can be found around the forums. Having a system such as this could reduce the amount of quick account creation to spam threads that are actually in need of help but are continuously bugged by users that troll nd abuse the system.
This may be a long suggestion but in reality this rust forum is full of trolls and even though I do not play the game. I check forums often and these people continue to bother me and other users as well.

I'm almost 100% positive that this is the case, yes. Next time i'll try to build further away from someone. Hope it can be fixed anytime in the future though. Anyway, thanks for the information. :)
Got another exploit to report, possibly a game-breaking one. Sorry for posting this here again, Helk. I really need to get my hands on a github account.
Anyway, I discovered this exploit while setting up a spawn point for a raid. What I found out is that you can glitch your way through walls and pillars by placing your sleeping bag in a specific manner.
This is how you can reproduce this exploit:
1. Place your sleeping bag as far into the corner of a pillar as possible
2. Die and respawn
3. You will spawn inside the pillar/wall of the house. From there entering the base is as easy as taking a step forward or jumping forward.
Possible workaround until a fix comes along (have to test this out, yet):
Place a door in front of each outer pillar. Make sure to at least secure the ground floor and first floor.
I sincerely hope this glitch is easily fixable as it currently makes every structure penetrable.
Helk, why is your name suddenly really blue?

I asked that too. I assume it means Facepunchstudios developer.
I just got a key to try out the game annd...
there's no hotbar, no health bar, I dont know if I'm dying or anything,
the ground is all static and shit, all I can do with hit trees and open my inventory.
did I miss something or is the game genuinely broken?

There is probably a problem where it's not using your main video card (or something along those lines). There was a thread about this, not sure where it is.
Is there anyway I can fix this? I just got killed by some random jerkbag. Also zombies seem to be invisible.

:v: Sorry. Never had the issue :(
I just tried to play on another comp and I'm still getting the same problem.
Well, that fucking sucks.
So I was facing three guys, and they broke into my base after 20 tries.
Then i bunkered up in my room to gather everything up and log out before they could get through my 6 doors.
Guess what they decide to do? glitch through my wall, past my 6 doors, destroy my bag (after i killed them 3 times, they kept glitching through wall.) and there goes 8 crates worth of guns/metal/food/gear.
The guys were
Random, turbosax, and wasdf-one(wasdf was the one glitching through)
I'm guessing he was doing the bed glitch, but anything going to happen to people who constantly exploit the map?
-Also, I told helk about this before, but just to have it down here as well. I spawned on someone elses bed that was inside the house I put my bed beside. (on the outside).
-Bleed icon stays up after spawn.
-My game started stuttering so I closed chrome via task manager, and when I went to log back on, I was in a different location.
(This is the only one I can re-create under a controlled environment because it was more than just clicking respawn to spawn on my bed.)
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
