I like the new sky alot, it has moon stages, you can see the moon in the water, and the clouds does shadows on the floor but if you look up, it too much bright also, could you maybe look at this thread? Its every bug i saw in-game (i have 490h+-) http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1339267
Any screenshot? Whatever video player this is, I can't even watch it.
Any screenshot? Whatever video player this is, I can't even watch it.
Me too. Just black screen constantly
Look at their feets when they are running xD
looks good :) Also ty for the chickens and rats :)
who has a black screen: http://unity3d.com/webplayer
it's better than current, but moon needs a little bit of glow, and the rays from the sun are a bit much, make it look a little like I am underwater, other than that, I love the specs on the screen... although kinda reminds me like I'm wearing a helmet (I'm not).... the spots would be great if on when player wears a full helmet, but remove when no helmet. Clouds are a little flat too... although not sure if unity can do better than that... looks promising though
Looks great...That's about all I have to say.
you need this to see it: http://unity3d.com/webplayer [editline]22nd January 2014[/editline] too many clouds at night
I'd also like to add looking at someone when the sun is behind them makes them look like a god. that just looks weird.... god bear.
New shaders? Whatever it is, it does so much more justice to the models.
People missed the fact that the moon changes its shadows every night.
Pretty cool, I was expecting a video but no, it's interactive. Nice job Garry!
nice looks perfect and the water to i would go with it
also, I know this post is asking for opinions non the sky, but if you are including the new models, I would just like to point out, the running animation is broken, it gives the models a broken right ankle (for me at least)
Looks fantastic. That run animation makes my ankles hurt, though.
Is it going to be always cloudy?
looks awesome, even the bear animation is really fearsome.
Looks fantastic...but holy bloom batman!
on my monitor the night is basically pitch black. I'd have to raise the brightness every time night comes then lower it when it's day again if I were playing the game like that.
Managed to get this mostly working in the real codebase today. Still a couple of bugs to fix, and there will probably be some tweaking. But it's coming. It feels a lot more natural than the old sky. Plus it's not really that hacky. So we can have proper water reflections + refraction. This simple change has made Rust look so much more fantastic.
This simple change has made Rust look so much more fantastic.
Indeed - if you look at the 3d models, and particularly at the normal maps, that the team has done, they look fantastic. But, unfortunately, the lighting and normal mapping systems of unity did not really showcase how they looked. This revamped lighting really makes the whole game look better. The only real concern I had was the performance - but, as Garry just said, they've somehow managed to make this run better instead of worse. I'm extremely excited, and very impressed.
OMG THAT WATER SWEET JESUS
What's with the shelters on the water ? D:
I like it, the newer bear animation is cool too!
Is this area flooded after rain ???
hmm it doesnt look that special to be honest, personally i'd like more detailed/thicker clouds. im more impressed with how the water looks :P
Looks very good! Also the water animations are awesome
sweet. Make famele model :quagmire:
