wow i injected into the game, removed the PE headers, unlinked the module from the PEB and blocked vac3's manual mapping and i still got banned, shitty fucking alpha fix your shit facepunch, pm me when unbanned
Everyone on my friends list is vac banned and some haven't played in days
I find this immensely enjoyable coming from one of the most notorious cheaters in the history of rust.
Hello. First off, I would like to say that I am a firm believer in not hacking or cheating anyway, I like to earn my items in game and real life. I was VAC banned for a reason that i am not aware. I had fallen through several rocks and the map before, but i was under the impression it was just a game glitch, so i did not report it. If this is the reasoning for me being banned in-game, i would like to request an un-ban. I absolutely love your game Garry and for the life of me cant figure out why i was banned. I love the new updates and hate that i cannot play with them. Please remove the VAC ban asap if you will. I will very much appreciate it. Sincerely, A Beloved Fan of Rust!
Me and a friend fell through a rock last night, then suffered from rubberbanding for about 30 minutes before deciding to go to bed. Go to log in today, both VAC banned. Kind of bummed considering I wanted to get on to finishing my house tonight. Got hit by hackers two days in a row, then fall through the map and get VAC banned. Might just be time to buy DayZ.
Idk why game developing companies are following this "early access payment" idea. Lately more and more ompanies are charging players to play an alpha with promises of having a full game finished for us to play but this is almost never the case. Early Access Payments are a joke and ruining the gaming industry, this is one of the biggest gaming controversies of 2013 as more and more game publishers and developers are charging players to play an unfinished game with the premise that your "testing" the game early! Beta testers and Alpha Tester were PAID to play games that r unfinished or incomplete. Not one gamer should have to pay to play an unfinished game Games like Hawkens, Mech Warrior Online, Smite, Dayz SA, Nether, and the like are ganes that have been doing this. Hell Battlefield 4, a Triple A title did this and when it was released YOU COULDNT EVEN LAUCH IT EA launched an unfinished game after making 120 dollars off of players for "early access" This marketing style is terrible for gaming in general and should not be practiced lest we repeat the 1983 video game crash. If noone knows what haplened ill give u alittle summary. in 1982 the video gaming industry was generating 2.3 billion dollars in revenue. This was due to great game successes from the atari and newly introduced PC games that were coming out. The problem that happened in 1983 was a HUGE influx of video games pushed out way to warly and completely unfinished with consumers buying the products that didnt even work. Because of the massive amount of games that were broken or unfinished or scams(Quaker Oats co. and Purina dog foods actually made games for there products that were unfinished pieces of shit and scams) Consumers decided to stop buying video games all together they showed how uoset they were with there wallets not forums or phone calls or complaining but with there money. Buy the end of 1983 the revenue dropped down to 100 million, thats an 98.6 percent lose in 1 year. This almost crippled the video gaming industry. What happened next was game publishers and developers finally sat back and listened to the consuners, putting the companies in the Red had made them realize they werent in control and we wouldnt buy unfinish products or piexes of shit anymore. 2 years later Nintendo saves the gaming industry by releasing The NES along with Mario Bros, Zelda, and Duck hunt. They did a smart business move by selling it as a toy and not a video game console due to consuners refusing to purchase another console again. It worked ppl loved it and companies were slowing down and working on video games to the fullest without the jew marketing we see today. DLCs and Early access bullshit never was allowed or a joke. if u wanted to tell another story of a game U MADE ANOTHER ONE. After 2008 Recession in the US gaming developers and companies have been barely making the bills and sadly publishers like EA have been pushing unfinished games out earlier and the backlash has been shiwing for the oast 5 years. This is the same with activison, Bethesda, Bioware, and yes even Valve recently. We all love Ryst and im glad i run a Rust server and enjoy the game that we all purchased but the fact of the matter is this. We shouldve been given early access to test out the game free of charge instead of making us pay for something that as garry stated himself " could be changed to flying pink unicorns with lasers shooting out of there horns" or something to that effect. We should all be ashamed for supporting this type of business style and except the fact that Yes your being banned by the VAC System because your testing out an unfinished game you had to pay for in full.
-snip-
If you don't support early access, then why did you buy the game in early access, dingus?
Not one gamer should have to pay to play an unfinished game
then don't lol. nobody is making them play it early, it's their decision and their told up front what to expect. if putting up with glitches is really such a bother than just wait until the game is finished. This is no different than pre-ordering a game, it's just you get to fuck around with it as it's being made as an added bonus.
Wait so it's just bunch of hackers crying? I can re-download rust? :D Got scared when i went from reading playrust.com that their was a new patch and then seeing this thread where the first post was just 4 hours old.
Server Admins banned for speedhacking is one thing, apparantly the teleport would do that. Other than that the list of known cheaters to me shows 6/7 banned, which is fantastic. I wish their friends benefitting wouldve gotten banned too so not only the "hacking account" was VAC banned, but Ill take this while waiting :).
Someone just PM'd me his login details to a hack site. Hahahaha I can tell you most people who complained here were banned for a legit reason.
You can start by explaining how that statement even makes sense. A lot of server admins have logins there to stay ahead. Nothing written there explains why a lot of people I know were banned today after 10 minute-2 hours of play.

People are losing there steam acount which could possible have hundreds of dollars to thousands invested in it because of muh early access. Whether or not we decided to buy this game unfinished or not it doesnt mean its okay. If you believe you should have to pay for an unfinished game in full that as garry said, could be abandoned or never finished or even changed into a completely different game at any given moment. Facepunch should be glad that players or the fanbase of FB would help them test there game out not "for 29.99 you get the privilege to play our unfinished product!" Its not good business is all man and its not just FB as stated above. As i said, We should all be ashamed because Yes we purchased an unfinished game in full and now as with the uLink blunder players are losing entire years of games they paid for because of a possible game error. You get the free look at it's development as a bonus. Again, this is just pre-ordering a game which is nothing new. You just get the OPTION of playing it early if you WANT. Trying to argue this inclusion of a free optional bonus is something horrible that magically changes everything is really just silly.
players are losing entire years of games they paid for because of a possible game error.
Uhh. You don't understand how VAC works.
I just spent a good 10 minutes of my life reading this, and it was sure as hell worth it for the laughs I got. I got this for free, and would honestly never hack. I have fun legitimately fucking noobs over. Who the hell spends anywhere in the range of ~$10-250 (yeah people actually bought it for that much lol, probably not even people that want to fund the game just rich fucking kids) on a game, and then even more money for hacks in it? Ugh. Keep em all ban.
Please learn how VAC works before flipping out about it, thanks. OH YEAH!!! I wish EVERY hacker could read this. This is it my friends, my english sucks but I decided to create an account just to post in this freaking threat and LAUGH in your FACESSSSS! Hahahaha. I can't express myself, I can't express how enjoyful, how orgasmic is, to read all these hackers moaning, and crawling at "my feet". I spent 1 god damn week farming stuff with my crew, we were RICH, in legit ways, no fcking hacks. And someday, someone named CruelWorld, just came inside our base with no-clip, stole EVERYTHING, every ammo, all my 50 C4's, etc etc etc etc. After that, my Rust experience never been the same. My friends left the game, and I've been just roaming around, changing from server to server, looking for a decent experience. And ALL I could find, was random RETARDEDS flying around, aimbotting, speedhacking, coming into my house and steal 12 hours of work, search, hunting, farming, etc. I can still remember the ARROGANT voice of many hackers. The power they feel, their "powerful" voice, thinking that they are the best, and they can control us. There was an hacker that tried to force me to be his slave doll. I remember him saying: Crawl a bit, and jump 3 times or I shoot you in the face. (etc etc.). You hackers are all so f*cking arrogants, you think you have more power than everyone else, and are our gods and masters, but you're wrong. It took lots of time, but now you paid for this. Now don't come in this fcking post with your god damn excuses about lag, or falling off a hill, or wtv, coz I god teleported by admins several times, and I'm not banned. Also, don't talk about your admins getting banned. I played on a top server with an admin challed BHILLZ, or something like that. He was a freaking hacker, u dont even imagine. Now, I'm taking a bath on your tears, yeaaaah, so good bros. So good, fcking hackers. I wish I could send a message to all hackers in the world, and force them to read. Fcktards who have nothing more to do in their lives other than destroy hours, and hours, and more hours of work from players and game developers. A friend of mine was SOOOO annoyed with hackers, so he tried to download some hacks, he visited a hacker website, and its funny coz all hackers in there, their comments on those posts are all like: "YEAH, THANKS FOR THIS HACK, NICE UPLOAD MAN, NOW IM GONNA R*PE SOME NOOBS WITH THESE, MUAHAHHA. PERFECT, TIME TO HAVE SOME FUN", are you proud for being such a retarded idiot?! You probably think that games are just games, but don't forget about the hours of work. The time wasted from those who put effort playing legit, or creating the game, is REAL, REAL LIFE, REAL TIME, not a god damn game. CRY! CRYYYYYYYYYYY! CRY MOAR! YEAH, IT WAS THE LAG OMG, UNBAN MEEEEE OMG PLEASE, PLEAAAAASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! FCKING LAG, FCKING TELEPORTS, FCKING BUGS GOT ME BANNED! HAHA XD [editline]10th January 2014[/editline] HEY HACKERS! By the way, I'm @ UK 1 Official Server. My name is Excape! I have a big base with lots of C4 inside, come and steal it all with your No-Clip! OH WAIT..... You can't. You got BAN HAMMERED IN YOUR FACE, BY MILEY CYRUS! Hahahahah, bunch of useless scrubs. Your brains were born in the fcking sewers. HAHAH (User was banned for this post ("as satisfying as eliminating hackers may be, this is not how you post on the forums" - MaxOfS2D))
Took out my trash, tweaked my back; sooo much pain could barely walk. (GF called me old :I ). Couldn't sleep, so I decided to read some forums while I try to ease my pain(drugs to kick in). I get to read this huge crybaby fest and immediately I jump out of my seat and scared the shit out of my dog.(also gf is pissed but w/e) Moral= Cheater's tears can cure things, or work for short term pain relief. I have roughly 250+ hours played, and I've fallen through the world tons. I've lagged out so hard I've ended up in rocks, and had to /sui out. Go Get'em VAC. I hope tomorrow when I sit in my desk chair with a cup of coffee and a few kit kats that this is 20+ pages of ass kickings.
-boring life story-
You do know they can just buy the game again, and keep hacking?

Let them waste more money, and keep getting banned. I give 0 fcks. Now they know they can't abuse that much. You know a server with 200 players, there was more than 130 hackers on it, right?! Because they thought they couldn't be banned because this is Alpha, bla bla bla, bla bla bla, idc. IDC BRAH! You sound like you love them. <3
This whole issue of people who may have rightfully been blocked for cheating trying to play it off like it was a false positive reminds me of the first time they actually did a mass ban early in Ragnarok Online. Only differences are in Ragnarok it was a bot playing the game for them, with Rust its aim/teleport hacks. With Rust they are claiming its a false positive from the antihack, but in Ragnarok they claimed it was someone other than them who didn't know how to talk in game playing for them. I know its not exactly related to Rust, but there has to be someone other than me that remembers that and sees the resemblance.
Yeah, but most of these false positives are not "cheaters playing it off". Sure probably one or two might be thinking about joining in to get unbanned or something, but there's far too many legitimate people caught in this mess.
get banned, go cheat/hack somewhere else.
I'm not really buying your excuse; VAC only bans if you have something hooking into the game's executable and modifying it client-side... (unless there's a wave of false positives but that would be really weird)
Wrong Again.. VAC doesn't just check for Hooking.. It checks running processes and scans hard disk for certain paired files due to the way some Anti-VAC cheats work in Ring 0.. It has no choice but to take a hash of application signatures in certain folders.. (it's hard for VAC to validate drivers without going all out rootkit) Is it possible for false positives? You bet your ass. When Dota 2 was in development they had 2 false ban waves because things considered hacks were just memory management applications for windows. VAC can be very aggressive sometimes and it depends how well it's being supported or implemented with the application its guarding.. I wouldn't be surprised if people were banned wrongfully for speed hacking when they were teleporting as admins and getting dropped out of servers. (Programming Error) P.s. I wasn't banned - I don't run a server actively EDIT: A lot of the whining seems to be kids who bought aimbots and were legitimately banned and now are jumping on the band wagon to get their accounts back.. I am pretty sure 90% of the bitching in this thread about alpha and everything else are just owned 12 year olds.
I wouldn't be surprised if people were banned wrongfully for speed hacking when they were teleporting as admins and getting dropped out of servers. (Programming Error)
Why would VAC catch in-game position changing when that (unless Rust is doing something really fucking weird) doesn't modify any files or hook into the running processes?
Why would VAC catch in-game position changing when that (unless Rust is doing something really fucking weird) doesn't modify any files or hook into the running processes?
The people claiming admin teleport = false speedhack ban might be grasping straws here as they see both as covering a lot of ground in a short time despite the fact that admin teleport is a admin command and in quite a few multiplayer games.
Why would VAC catch in-game position changing when that (unless Rust is doing something really fucking weird) doesn't modify any files or hook into the running processes?
I couldn't answer this honestly. I was only stating it as a possibility. Huge Speculation - Grain of Salt Time I can't know for sure but I do know that VAC does roll it's own implementation for each game.. and generally speaking the source games get the best of VAC whereas third party games sort of get left outside with semi rolled implementations.. When a game is in constant flux during development.. VAC can generate false positives and this can be related to some of the Anti-Cheat methods that Garry implemented in the game.. (Aka his detection of a speed hack could be a hook VAC is using) /End of Speculation Or people are full of shit and VAC was correctly banning them.. I wasn't falsely banned so I can't confirm or deny either way.
The people claiming admin teleport = false speedhack ban might be grasping straws here as they see both as covering a lot of ground in a short time despite the fact that admin teleport is a admin command and in quite a few multiplayer games.
While this is true most games wont kick you for it as it is an admin command so I can see where they are coming from but as Max said they fixed that issue as well. Could it have something to do with the exploit to remove doors where you remove some file in the game files? I guess VAC would catch that.

I've since changed my mind. :v:

It's easy for VAC to detect.. honestly.. but it doesn't seem to be bannable yet. (Luckily Collision is server side now, so the things you can do with those .dll's is drastically reduced)

And possibly did for at least some of the banned in this thread. :v:
