They are playing Russian roulette because as of right now that could be bannable and we don't know.. which is a good thing.. however I will say that the recent ban wave that cleaned up no-clippers was not catching people who modified their .dll.. Usually VAC doesn't pick and choose which hacks go to the chopping block during a ban wave.

Well since Twitter and Facebook are now completely flooded with people bitching about false positives, i doubt this is just cheaters trying to get a slap on the wrist, Christ you people are morons. Garry even "un vac banned" some famous youtuber today. Don't believe me? Check @playrust twitter.

I suppose all we can do is wait.

This thread is comic gold.. I have seen the same thread in every game that had a wave of bans against cheaters. Its always the same excuses and fake innocence. Common excuses said are like "my brother was using my account, or my friend came over and he was using my PC and installed something" "It was just a mod that was installed" "The anti=cheat detected something else on my PC not related to the game" "I never used any cheating program ever why is this happening to me" To quote one of the dev's "I'm not really buying your excuse; VAC only bans if you have something hooking into the game's executable and modifying it client-side..." Its not far fetched to say that if someone got banned for cheating, they also will lie and cry innocence. I been watching this argument happen since counterstrike 1.0.

Question here. Riva statistics uses dll injectors to post your temps+fps etc... can that give a VAC ban? Just so I know if I should keep it off when playing.

Hey everyone, i bought rust two days ago (08/01/14) and played it for the last two days okay. yesterday i had opened up a storage box and tabbed out to check my emails on a separate screen. as i was reading an email i noticed that the game was shaking or glitching through the floor. when i went to click on the game it disconnected. when i read the console it said something similar to this "facepunch.kick.speedhack" when i dont hack at all. when i tried to logon today (10/01/14) it told me i was vac banned? is this a bug? is there any chance i could be un-banned?

Can we have it confirmed by the devs that being teleported and kicked from the server should not trigger a VAC ban??

As to whether this was the cause of a false positive.. thats something valve would answer.. not the dev team.. They have about as much knowledge how VAC works as everyone else.

IT PUTS THE LOTION IN THE BASKET.

You don't know what that software reads or writes to memory or what parameters VAC uses to ban on this game. Even if its a false positive its a pain the ass for users to mess with Valve trying to get the ban lifted. It's your money so if you want to risk it go ahead.

I've been tp both players to friends, and me to players .. we all got DC'd if it was to far ... I'm not banned .. nor have I gotten a msg that they got banned eighter!! I'm using the Admin Panel from SurviveRust so I was afraind I might be banned. But .. nothing :p Not sure why/how they ban for false errors .. but how about we see what programs ppl ran in the background .. maybe that can provide some info what it might be... My usual programs that run in the background while Steam and Rust is open are: Logitech Gamepanel for my mouse and headset Google Chrome Mumble, Skype and Ventrilo Rust Admin Panel Razor Game Booster What else are u using?

Thats not a claim thats speculation and pretty well-founded IMO. I know its a pain, and frankly I would easily sacrifice a few days of playtime if its for a good cause (getting rid of shit players). Ill let off for a while and see what happens :).

Let me get this straight, u guys (the devs) have made an enormous amount of money, yet u dont buy hacks from all the popular hack sites to check how they work and interact with your game ? VAC didn't mess up, it did its job correctly. 90% of the people here are whiny babies that downloaded a hack off the internet and got mad when they got caught. VAC isn't perfect but it also isn't so crappy as to massively ban hundreds of people on accident.

It used to be always on, and also together with steam! I never got banned for anything, I never had any dodgy software running on my machines. Riva will NOT be issuing a false response to VAC!! I will try to find the report regarding Rivatuner and Riva Statistics and Steam/VAC! They concluded with the fact that Riva company would not register any warning in the VAC system!

Holy shmokes, this thread is scary! I'm not playing rust until release, I can't risk a VAC ban, I play too much global offensive.

What more do you want?

This has made my day... Just like i saw in another post.. every game always has a ban wave and the same bullshit excuses come out :') This is what you get for believing that the hacks were 'undetectable' muhahah
