I think ist not a waste of development, to make a Heli.
Alpha is for testing things out, like: Do we want Heli's in Rust? Do we Need Cars? Do we Need Sniper?
Do we Need Zombies? I dont think that Grass displacment is important, but i bet there is a reason why they wanted to do such stuff.
I think they should make more stuff of different buildings, like a Stonebase to craft.
Im happy with the game, and i think all the stuff you dont like, will get improved later.
Anyway the game is really PvP based, so a Helicopter is quite nice =)

Garry I've supported anything your company touches you're a great designer / Mod Guru, But to release a game that's of THIS GENRE you knew you were pulling a mass mass crowd from ArmA games with is hands down the most advanced game to mod / play in gerneral.... - ok, honest question....do you know anything about Unity or programming for that matter?
- The complexity is honestly the server load and network frame garry's trying to support / render at optimized speeds, this is whats extremely hard.
- Games like '' The Forest " Can show you the power of unity, Now Garry's game looks good, but it defiantly is a PRE ALPHA look, and they are slowly chipping away changes. I feel that garry and his team are really milking the time on this to make a solid game, but its not a major priority to them and sometimes it seems late. 10 devs is plenty.... it's unity...
