Please! It's important.
looks great, any chance you wanna add some functions in to draw on the client UI from the server :)

lol at people adding slingshots and stuff.. are you going to upload the models & code too?? pretty sure this post is all about basic stuff that can use that event system.
Also, community can do translations, adaptations for each language. I mean the translation of item-names and short item descriptions. How do you look at it?
When I type in my username and password it takes me to a blank page

Then if I refresh this page it says Currently signed in as (my account name) and would you like to use this account to sign into radmin.elasticbeanstalk.com?
I press the Yes, Sign In button and it repeats back to that link up there, an endless loop.
make it so if you put a can of beans in a furnace it gives you baked beans
Only if you use "Open" on the can our you get "Grenade blast" in close proximity to the furnace. :v:

Can you imagine throwing that giant ass rock with a slingshot ? LOL

Have ever heard of our lord and saviour in the zombie apocalypse, Jörg Sprave?

You know, i dint look at it that way. I dont play games on spanish but i would definetly help with translating.
Since I've gotten no response to my initial question I won't do that for now. I'm not quite happy with the way the community gets treated so I'll probably never do =)
I would imagine it wasn't answered because they don't know the answer yet.
It's a tool for suggesting items, suggest whatever you want. Maybe it's inventory only now, but later it will be more.
Besides, they will review everything so if there is something cool they might decide to implement it also.
Will we know if devs have seen our ideas? I mean, if a dev checks out one of my ideas, and decides that it shouldn't be implemented, will i then know or do i have to live without knowing ?
Also, will i know if the idea gets selected to get implemented, in any other way than waiting to see if it gets implemented?
Good job garry and thank you for this ability for community made items. I would suggest sometime seeing if you can set up a steam community workshop for this so the people who dont check the Rust subforums everyday can check out the ideas. Its just a suggestion though and thank you again for this tool.
Seems pretty cool to me and I would really like to try it. But i get a blank page after im redirected back from steam login :S
Garry, is it possible that the stuff created with the editor finds the way into steam's trading system some day?
Maybe, make not everything tradeable to balance the gameplay, but it could work great with textures, colour, skins, for clothes or to paint walls etc. You could learn some of the stuff by crafting receipts or item drops / loots.
With Steam's trading you could also trade stuff from other games for Rust stuff and vice versa, the item creators could even make some money by selling in the item shop like TF2. And I'm not talking about pay2win, thats crap.
Rust will benefit from it because the contents improves continuously, just look how the community of TF2 is creating awesome new items all day.
Windows 7 64-bit
Chrome version 33.0.1750.117
Brings up page with "Item Editor" and "Log In". Clicking login brings me to a steam page login. After logging in it bring me to a white page.
I have not tried other browsers as I don't really care to use any other browser.
If I can do anything to help you pinpoint a bug or test a bug fix feel free to shoot me a msg, I check the forums daily.

Same thing with me. Firefox
Do you have high privacy settings on your steam profiles? I think the login might be tripping up when trying to find out if you're in our staff steam group.
Login works for me. Sounds like people fail.
Item editor, great. How about fixing the rampant glitch I deal with every five minutes where I become invisible, cannot interact with the game world but can run around forever with a torch that never burns out? How about this one? I have to carry six stacks of torches and check for them counting down every 30 seconds lest i discover I'm glitched then when I log back in all the ground I covered is gone because my character actually stopped running.

Good thinking I wasn't even thinking something on steams end =p It's a good thing your the brains of this operation! Currently at work so I can't check. Will look into this when I get home.
@RustyValve Go home troll.
*Edit*
You hit the nail on the head Garry. It only allows you to log in if your profile is set to public.
While not a huge issue I probably won't use it unless this is changed.
Same with me had to set all to public.
In the future will we be able to browse other people's creations?

Hey garry,
the item editor login worked after I set my profile to public. Is this really required? Can it be changed in future? I'd usually like to keep it private.
Nice, +1 for angularjs usage. I'll be taking a look at the code shortly. Should open-source the editor, I'd love to contribute!
Hey Guys, what do you think about this:

From my point of view, Graphit would be ideal to add.
Can also be found in resource blocks and can be used for many different things.
First of all to create a Pen, a Pen would be needed to copy blueprints for example, or to create blueprints at all. Also Graphit is used to make kettles fireproof or to create foundry moulds ... or just to put your Logo on clothes or walls ...
Anyway I feel this is a missing resource and can be very usefull.

I really like the idea to edit and create items. I guess we could edit and create events too, right ?
I really like the idea to edit and create items. I guess we could edit and create events too, right ?
I guess not, because a event needs to be implemented in rust code before it can be used. Otherwise you would have an item were the game does not know what to do with it.
I like the graphit ore idea, especially because it gives paper an usage and it also makes researching a bit more complicated (slows down a bit the too quick progress in game).
