I'm not Garry, but the three buttons bellow the item name header, to the right, above all the item specifics, are what he's talking about, I'm pretty sure.

Cool, let´s start the voting.
Why can I not see anyone's submissions but my own?

Are we supposed to see all the items submitted by all players? Because at the moment I can only see the list with "accepted" items and the only way to see what players are submitting is if they link their submitted items here.
How do I get these links for mine? I can only link my page.
Just change address with your item number, item number you see in address, and also available in Raw Data under itemID,
Example: "itemid": "2821" <--- That will be bear meat.
Ok here ya go!

That's weird. I tried it both logged in and logged out, in IE and Chrome, and I still see the buttons. They should be right above "Item Properties." What browser are you using?
So does Facepunch expect us to start making the new patches? Fans getting the chance to code (not being paid) for their fav game just seems lazy. You want us to have the freedom to code whatever? I can sit here and make 10,000 useful items but what is the point? It is kind of insulting turning to the community to work on your game after you've made your million dollars. If you add a reward option for successful codes then maybe you won't look bad, but shit I refuse to work on this game I don't care how much I like it or how good of a coder I am. This is ridiculous, you don't comment on our suggestions but you let us waste time making pretend items for the game so we don't bitch. Rust does not need 10,000 new items it needs gameplay, let us code some gameplay then we will be happy.
I might actually code something later for you, your item editor is so simple... It's so simple I am surprised you millionaires haven't been able to code more stuff overnight...

I don't understand this viewpoint. You've never played a game and thought "wow, wouldn't it cool if they added YXZ" but the game was already made and there was no real option of communication your idea to the devs? I think it's pretty awesome, myself. It gives a way more structured suggestion method to the community and gives the game a much better chance of being a "complete" experience by the advantage of allowing people to contribute their ideas.
We don't have the freedom to "code whatever," btw. This is a rather rigid framework for auto-creating a game element type. In general, items in games have pretty basic structures, so it's not hard to throw something like this together. I was working on a similar tool for a game I was/am working on.

It's working for me now, cleared cache and cookies. Thank you.

Why are there size and weight options? Will both the size and weight of your items affect the amount of stuff you can carry? I think having items be more true to their size would be a great addition

They only have placeholder values at the moment and we can't create custom ones. My guess is that it is part of a system they are brainstorming and/or working on.

Raw Venison anyone?
Bump
Can someone please change the name of the raspberry to blackberry
We all Know raspberries are red not black. (although i do believe blackberries are red till ripe)
Or change the Pic.
Its so annoying seeing something so obviously wrong that could be rectified with a few keystrokes.

I added your items to general items tread. We collect items there for better search.
Please visit thread, and give you vote on items you like.
Made a nother one: http://radmin.elasticbeanstalk.com/item/edit/10664/
really i get a dumb rate for pointing out an error. or is it that you don't know what a raspberry looks like. sorry off thread.
sievers808 which part is dumb ?
The dumb part is people voting it in. just like politics no one know what they are voting for. or don't check to see if stuff is right first.
:(
so sad the lack of education these days.

Its worked well for minecraft, and for all the people that like to play modded minecraft :)
so long as the game is in active developement by the creators as well, with good mods added into the core game (see starbound and minecraft for that one) then giving tools to the community to help out is a good thing.
What worrys me is when i brought it i was told weekly updates on a friday and yet no update this week... i can live with that ofcourse, its a game thats in alpha but the lack of a "sorry no update again this week" is alarming

Is that a private forum? Doesn't let me view. Or maybe your link is an "edit" link and not the link to the thread?
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
