Dinosaurs are not realistic. They are not in the bible. They didn't exist. Don't do this. Thanks.
Except that creationists do believe dinosaurs existed alongside men. I watched a recent documentary where they have a Creationist museum with dinosaurs on display alongside cavemen. So for Creationist's sake, lets create a simulator for those happy days 6000 years ago when man and proto-birds coexisted.
Dinosaurs or Mythical Creatures please ! Military ? Booooring... This game is a another world...
Idee de merde. I hate that idea it makes the game too boring, military and mutant aliens any day!
joue donc a star wars

i would suggest a mix between mutant soldiers and mutant animals. like the STALKER Series had. that was pretty nice
i would suggest a mix between mutant soldiers and mutant animals. like the STALKER Series had. that was pretty nice
you mean a soldier and a red bear and have a baby? a zombo?
Everyone voting military bought the game for the wrong reason. Sorry. Go play a different game.
Everyone voting military bought the game for the wrong reason. Sorry. Go play a different game.
Who are you to make that call for everyone else? I don't even think the devs know where to take the game let alone any of us.
Mind me if its already been said, but I think natural disasters, I.E. Earthquakes, volcanoes, rare chances of meteor storms, tornadoes, blizzards in some areas if it is planned to have different weather conditions, and just things of that nature.

That along with more dangerous wildlife I think is enough. We don't necessarily need random military troops or mutant creatures wandering around too. Those two things along with other players is enough of a daily threat as it is in my opinion :)
I was thinking about this last night and the issue with modern weapons and so forth. I think a few of these ideas should be added. Different areas of the map could be different people. The military could have a small area and only a few people but all the good guns. There could be a raider location that had more numbers but they could have crappy weapons. ETC. Each one could have a boss and if you and a group killed the boss you took over the base and then npcs were under your control. The regular players would be forced to team up more to take on the npcs and form factions of their own, build bases, recruit, etc. Could add oil as a resource and have chainsaws vehicles and so forth.
Great so we will turn this into Jurassic Park and we will have dinosaurs destroying our buildings. Little kids, stop picking dinosaurs when it will just become a bad decision after awhile...

Please people... don't turn Rust into a copy of something that's already being done. I understand that no matter what ends up happening there's a game SOMEWHERE that's done something similar no matter what but cmon...
i would really like to see large packs of faster mutated wolves that roam during the night... instant death to single wary travelers, and a major issue/annoyance to bandits. just think of leaving the harvesting area late and heading toward your house... the sun is now down and you hear howling all around, and a large 10-12 wolf pack has found you that works together to circle and attack their prey.... and on the gross side, just think about leaving your house and finding peoples remains in the woods from the wolf attacks.. half eaten or something. a terrible reminder that the night is NOT safe.
This is hard, because you've said you don't like the idea of mutated humans, perhaps mutated military? That would be kinda cool. Like they were sent in to contain this area, and were mutated as a result. I honestly think that's best, and it fits with the radiation. You could also use this for bandit camps. If you ever planned to make a way to offer an expanded map, that utilized more of the map, for larger servers, you could have either bandits, or mutated military set up with little mini tented camps up north, perhaps with like a radiation containment tank nearby, broken open.
I think the top 2 items should both be added in. those ATM are military and dinosaurs. me and my friend were talking earlier. The map is big, but not big enough. that area over by hacker valley should be extended. also, with both added, that makes the military npc's attack the dinosaurs. that creates environment vs environment. Also, people are complaining that the guns are too easy to come by. one thing that could be possible would to have military people guarding a town, or maybe even a giant T-Rex guarding a town! Think of the possibilities! they are endless!
A friendly reminder to heed your own advice.
The difference is that the person I was responding to before was being rather hostile about it: "Sorry. Go play another game." isn't very productive, it's just trolling.
This entire poll was a mistake.
Tell me that doesn't look badass, and seeing THAT when it's pitch black out wouldn't scare the shit out of you.

This is literally the description of The Stomping Land: "A multiplayer survival game about dinosaurs." It's got cavemen, and dinosaurs. Play that when it comes out instead of trying to turn this game into Jurassic Park.
You've said the exact same thing.
You've said the exact same thing.
I suppose you are correct... I'm just so strongly opinionated against dinosaurs. :P
Garry, not sure if you're joking about the dinosaurs or you're simply retarded. Also, why would you ask people if they want zombies in the game if you clearly said that you don't want this game to be a zombie survival game? This whole thread is a joke.
Well if you want to head more in the direction of survival, and more player driven survival at that, I think that for example, say there is an earthquake, or a tornado, people will be driven not to live in those areas, making other areas populated, forming groups to survive, and ultimately leading to a community. Without a reason NOT to be somewhere, where is the question of why not be there? Personally I just don't think monsters per say are always the best enemy, natural disasters would force the hand of the player, rather than become an option for them, making it much more interactive.
Garry NO DINOSAURS! Mutated Humans/ Animals! Like these someone posted these awhile ago for Rust: The rest are here if anyone wants to check them out and I highly advice Rust Devs to look at these some of these would make the game much more scary at night and add on to that radiated, abandon, island that Rust is http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1291336
Lol wut dinosaurs ? O_o
Completely agree with sketches Dahluc posted.

Lets keep the hostile mobs melee. AI shooting at you will not be a good thing for this game.
This is an easy question. Replace them with Tremors. Imagine being on the land and seeing a mound coming your way to get you. Its a perfect idea because you can build bases in the mountains and when you hit land the more vibration and running you make you will attract them. And lets not forget to make them big and nasty looking. To me that is scary knowing something can come and take you under ground.
Holy shit Tremors! I haven't even thought of that movie in years. That would be awesome as some like a world boss type area. Awesome idea but I would hope they wouldn't be all over the map. (other than a tremor invasion) *Leave the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park and Dino Crisis*
This is an easy question. Replace them with Tremors. Please don't let military beat anything, I don't want to see yet another game with military people in it.
