Can't believe military is winning :( How fucking boring.
Here is the quote once more. Military will not happen even if it would win basicly. So don't waste your vote on it. Besides there is already enough military themed games. Mutants -can- work but the only reason you people say mutants is because of radiation. The map we play on is only a test. In the real, final map there is maybe no radiation at all and just forest. So don't bring up the post apocalyptic theme all the time when it's not even set.
If we just had better stuff to build I would be happy. I can understand them wanting to sort out what the game theme is before they go too far, but building is really what the game is about.
Military, may be implemented >this< way would be a nice addition to the games experience. Stewie.D, I tell you: "players only" will never work simply because the "average human being" looses every civilian attitude when he/she/it can hide behind the fence of anonymity. You see this now and you will see this in the future. If it is just without any consequence this thing will go on and at least for my POV and my understanding in social interaction (also love PvP, when I have an opponent - not a unarmed jerk) I wont spend time to experience social drawbacks of our society. But imagine, opening fire would attract surrounding rebels/soldiers/whatsoever and the attacker also put his own life on risk - that would make him think twice about his actions!
To be honest it's pretty much players only on the server I play on, and that works great. Everyone has their own "tribes" built their own towns and bases and raid, trade and help each other out. The only other "threats" I think we need are more wild animals and the sheer complication of surviving. Thirst, hunger, cold, dehydration, diseases, poison etc. Those things along with other players is enough. I honestly don't think we need random military NPCs roaming around as for 1 .. They'll just get annoying after a while. And 2 .. They don't really fit.
The map is huge, why not add all of it in different areas so when the game does get boring people can set out to find these different animals, creatures, or aliens and try to raid them :) Just a thought but i think a little bit of everything in different areas would be cool to get people out of the normal zone. Thanks [editline]25th February 2014[/editline]
GENUS IDEA! We have different enemy for different MAPS! A Pre-historic themed map like the one we play on now, for dinosaurs and mystical creatures, A Pre-Apocalyptic world where everything is overturned by ravaging bandits and marauding foes, making survival the real enemy (Zombies would just be available in special areas, like Fallout). Or an unknown world set in the near distant future which sets the player in a warzone, to make it a DayZ clone or a CoD players dream, <[It'd attract more gamers too] Personally, im for dinosaurs, but because dinosaurs aren't for everyone, the world can evolve, the more minerals you mine, the more adapted the world will get, the more dinosaurs you don't kill, the more rock hitting the game would get, make it more evolving, the decision you make affect the game you play, Make the game interesting and enjoying, make it to your own imagination. Ive spent alot of time on this paragraph so.. Make your mind up.
lool

This would be awesome.
Mystical Creatures will be awesome. Like this:
do you guys really think, garry and his team will just throw of his whole concept of the game, just because people voted for dinos or military? he wants to hear your opinion, not your orders! they're working long enough on things like patrol helicopters etc... and they don't throw it aways and start working on a prehistoric game!
Found a another nice picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/doteros/8267179976/ I want to see them walking around in dark woods and life in tents. Maybe without the skin color and more like nuclear destroyed skins. use staff out of metal scrap, and wear old clothes
Mutated humans...? Don't zombies have mutations in their DNA... Much rather ride on a dinosaur and bite some dudes head off then do a drive by anyday. Besides who wants to hunt humans when you're being hunted by a T-Rex.
it isnt a question about DNA. its a question how they are moving, and how they life and when they attack you. maybe they run away from you and watching on you and attack only if you look away, not like brainless zombies.

And stepped on my BIGGEST issue with adding a difficult enemy NPC. "Who wants to hunt humans when you're being hunted by a T-Rex" .. Exactly .. and now it's a PvE game.
i think dinosauriers are just to easy to insclude them. its like "we have no ideas.... lets take dinosauriers, RAWR".
lol @ dinosaurs winning this poll Mutants, animal and human.

There's still opportunity to backstab and I'm sure it would happen

There's still opportunity to backstab and I'm sure it would happen
This is my biggest reservation about the "big group boss mob" idea... As soon as that big baddie goes down everyone will try to gun down everyone else and take all of their stuff. Just like after a round of races or something in GTA5... everyone spawns back at the same place and god knows someone will pull out their assault rifle and start mowing people down.
My vote is for Aliens. What I see for rad towns is the landing sites of alien craft. Their ships and materials emit radiation. Going near them is dangerous for other reasons as well. Such as advanced weaponry that requires very specific materials to repair. Materials you would have to funnel players into areas of contention to get. The landing sites could be anywhere on the map similar to an airdrop. Also, using their weapons emits radiation to the player using it and anyone standing next to that person. This would require Rad suits as a pvp option. The lessened resistance to bullets by wearing rad suits would make the rare quality of the alien weapon balanced. New items and researchable technologies could be introduced in the form of alien blueprints (Crate drops) and crash landing sites (again, similar to airdrops) where you are guaranteed to get loot if you can survive the interest everyone has in the area. Alien craft would also provide a possible use for player controlled airships. I'm thinking dogfighting. RPG launchers could be introduced as a way to defend the military airdrops being sent in to help the people on the ground as the aliens would attack these if spotted. Just some thoughts that I was having. Been discussing this for days with some people on our server. I see now that the top item in the poll is dinosaurs. I can understand that. That's kind of cool I suppose. I just feel like they are not an intelligent enough opponent with no real logical way to receive an item by killing one. What are they guarding drop areas? Why? Are they hyper intelligent? Then they're essentially alien anyway. Again, just some thoughts. Maybe someone agrees.

I'm not sure how many times someone could do that before word got around. This would probably be an end game activity so its not like you couldn't know if your neighbors were friendly by then.
My idea ... Because every time the discussion moves onto a new page, we get the same discussion and the same questions .. I can't be bothered to type it again for the people that don't read back :p Warning: I got carried away with typing. If you don't like reading, don't click it :D http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1369111

We do something quite similar in Radtowns right now.
i'd like to see mutants and small dinosaurs( like fast velociraptors and slow baby trex )
I don't see that as a down-side. We do something quite similar in Radtowns right now.
People will show up in Radtowns at the same time and a firefight can start, yes... But if there's a giant or a t-rex or a mammoth or whatever you voted for that takes many people to kill and people "team up" to take it down it seems different than happening upon another person in the same area.
i think adding things like base defenses (or siege/antiseige items) and vehicles is more important than what will replace zombies, my other suggestion of designing an original npc is on pg.16 but I think any original concept that can be justified by what we have so far would be better than anything on the list (which all seem like another step down the line of placeholders for wtv will be in the endgame)
This entire poll was a mistake.
democraty always win..... i would rather see evil ducks of doom as new enemy but ok... the most voters decite :/
