• Solution to Backpack Lock and KOS

please please please developers, read this and consider it. if for some reason you have to commit to locked backpacks, at least promise to reconsider the change when it fails miserably. you will lose a huge chunk of your fan base if you make this game any easier. on a high pop server you can get a 1x1 with a metal door up in like 2 hours max (granted it takes some practice learning the game). then your ONLY threat (in a survival game) is other players. sure you might die to a black zombie every once and a while but what else? maybe a bear if you were naked and were trying to melee it? BORING. this change will make it too easy for new spawns to retrieve their ore and wood on their body after being kiled by a player because he wont wait for TEN MINUTES to open the corpse. what a joke. the only way to learn how to play this game is with experience and as mentioned a million times, this is a huge hand holding mechanic that will DESTROy the game. if i wanted to build bases all day i would just go play simcity... [editline]5th February 2014[/editline] I have another suggestion/solution. lock backpacks for non pvp deaths, such as to zombies, falling off cliff, whatever. this will help new players learn to find their body and regain their stuff. Another possibility is the backpack is only able to be opened(not locked) by the person who died and the person who got the kill. once the backpack has been opened one time it is now open to everyone. and for god sake put a downvote option on trello before you start making serious gameplay mechanic tweaks based on a uneven distribution of players. heres how i see voting happening: one person- "new sky? cool. upvote" "bow mods? sweet! upvote" "locked backpacks? uh i hate losing my shit from hackers grrr upvote" 2nd person- "new sky? cool. upvote" "bow mods? sweet! upvote" "locked backpacks? Are you fucking kidding me!? no vote...."
This could work
