Idea for Admins of Servers - (Need Opinions) (Jail - Probation - For Life) - Rust

I've never played minecraft, the box thing doesn't do it for me. But I think I get your point. Here are the few suggestions we've had as far as dealing with pve/pvp. Safe zones. Although I've heard that safe zones create awful lag. Also, just unsure about how to set that up. Inside the safe zones you can build and enjoy gathering and pve aspects. Leave the safe zone, it's open season. I like that idea. I think that is actually extremely realistic, as the bandits or barbarians would be waiting outside of the safe zone to KOS. Just not sure I want to do the work of setting it up or dealing with even MORE lag. All rad areas will not be in the safe zones. But open fields, yes. This doesn't stop players from walking up to you and circling around you for no reason. But it does show their intention is just to annoy people and you can just kick from the server and know the player was just a troll. Another idea was to change the color of players names. For instance, if a player is in the top 15 kill list, he gets a red name. Even if he drops out of the top 15, his name is red forever. Once a killer, always a killer. If your name is not in the top 15, you have a blue or green name. This is a name that shows you are friendly/peaceful. If a friendly is killed by a red name, the red name is put in prison, no questions asked. If it happens again, he gets killed off by the world (ban). A bit extreme, but a good idea.

I guess it would not be out the question to involve RP in this? Why not recruit a law enforcement group.. The more notorious a player is at killing the more hassle they will get from the police. This could involve the police getting a search warrant to breach and clear their property (C4) have a warrant to impound their goods as "Evidence". Also retain a bandit and if the bandit does not comply shoot the bandit? I remember a group playing sirens down their microphone while chasing me.. i hid in my house and they wanted me to come out with my hands up and i duped them by legging it out my back window. Mega fun.

I've never tried any RP. Sounds hilarious. *I wouldn't want to admin anything like that though. I just play at night and like to relax and have fun.

I think it's a dumb idea that doesn't fit in rust. But people can do whatever they want on their private servers.

Wow. Horrible idea. That would lead to so much abuse an whiners ganging up on people who are just good at the game or who killed them. People REALLY need to get over kos players, hackers and griefers. Find another server. Get better at the game I don't know what to tell you. So tired of people thinking up ideas and whining about this crap.
