I like the thought of being able to tag a sentry with the name Betsy. I would have an abundance of these new "friends". "Gatling Arrow Sentry" 3 arrows per second? I'll just leave that up for discussion.
Take chopper down solo after 15 minutes of working for it..loot flaming on the ground....and here comes the rest of the server to ruin ur day lol. If they havent already ruined it because everyone goes for the chopper....

I just wish we had trip wire traps that killed raiders when the walk through a door
another point, you dont need a city to create an AK you get 3 HQM from the grey coloured mining nodes and 1/2 from the other 2, you are more than capable of acquiring enough HQM whilst mining to build a decent sized base that you can craft an AK from. stop bitching about the game and learn to play solo play is not dead your just sucking at it.
You have no idea how impracticable getting 50 HQM from nodes, let along another 16 for disposable items is do you.
You have no idea how impracticable getting 50 HQM from nodes, let along another 16 for disposable items is do you.
It's only impractical if the only thing you're after is the HQM. By the time that happens, you should have a small city built.
It's only impractical if the only thing you're after is the HQM. By the time that happens, you should have a small city built.
Which loops back to the question why do you need a small city for a fucking ak
My take on the sentry gun is that I think it's pretty unlikely it would actually prevent a base from being raided. Your best case scenario is that raiders have to expend more time/resources to bypass it. If that's the case, I'd rather focus my effort on putting up a few extra armored walls which seem like they would be more likely to actually stop a raid (or would require more resources to get through). I'm a little disappointed with how rare it seems like it will be. Few solos will be able to get their hands on one. Ah well. It might be better that it's semi-rare. I can see people mounting these to the tops of their bases. If they were uber-common, whole swaths of the map could end up being AI patrolled no-go zones.
I would think a sentry gun at the end of a hall way would be a useful tool, raiders get into you base then get mowed down as they try to get to the loot. They will still get it eventually but the satisfaction of having killed them a couple times would be enough for me
Which loops back to the question why do you need a small city for a fucking ak
That's the point, you don't. By the time you have a decently sized stone base, you have enough HQM for an AK. Even some leftovers for armored doors and a piece of armor or two.
My take on the sentry gun is that I think it's pretty unlikely that it would actually prevent a base from being raided
agreed, although i think it's more like an active middle tier defense. groups with rockets and armour would be able to take it down relatively easily, but nakeds zerging the base would just get blown apart. i wouldn't mind say 2 tiers of turret, the low tier manned heavy machine gun, and the high tier auto heavy machine gun. i'd also have an id card or something that you need to carry to not be shot. beside the fact that a processor that can tell the difference between friend and foe made out of metal frags and rocks is pretty unlikely, it makes it possible to steal the "permission" of the sentry. also, i'd have an on/off switch and a set sight cone that it patrols.
The turret would ofcourse have a face recognition program. Duh..

just making large groups more op by the way it is collected

Im looking forward to driving a lorry with the auto machine gun mounted on the back. Will be very rewarding.
Im looking forward to driving a lorry with the auto machine gun mounted on the back. Will be very rewarding.
Or a mutlitude of them. Imagine one coming up with a flatbed just wiping out nakeds and... wait... I think I've seen this before, recently. Kind of like a racing game but with guns on them. Hmmm, I think there was a movei too...
Seems like a cool concept. Wonder how it knows who to shoot, though.
I heard you authorize it just like the tool cupboard
People said games wasnt hard enought and offline raiders are annoying as fuck, now people complains about the fucking helicopter and a new way to defend your bases ?! Ridiculous, just, ridiculous. Git gud, adapt your strategies, dont just camp on it.
