The admins can ban me for posting what I think if they want
and they will, especially when you ask for a ban. the point is that constructive comments are more useful than posts that are basically "i quit until you fix this shit gerry", and more likely to have both the community and the devs actively try and fix it for you. so try and play nice, rather than comparing people to labrador shit.
Okay, back to topic :) garry asked if cballer had enough memory, well i have 8gb, and for now after a while playing rust uses 4gb i have 1750mb in stand by, and 143mb free, i am now monitoring if there is a moment when ram usage jumps over this 4 gb and uses all i have left and then crashes, that should narrow it down a little Edit: typo Edit: its realy late, i couldnt get it to crash(wasnt playing long enough) it is random, going to sleep, will try again tomorow
Not sure why, but I'm getting waaay less crashes than before. I have it set to "fastest" and I did go in and change Rust.exe, RustLauncher.exe and steam.exe to always run as administrator. Could be coincidence, I'm just a geek, not a full-blown computer nerd.
Can I ask you guys to send your logs to us via a support ticket so we can take a look. http://support.facepunchstudios.com/new-ticket Your logs can be found in your Steam\SteamApps\Common\Rust\RustClient_Data folder. If you can attach output_log.txt and output_log.last to the ticket as well as a DXDiag report (Start>Run>dxdiag then Save All Information..) we can take a look for you, also add CTD Logs as the subject.
Yeah, everyone i know who has an AMD Card has this Problem. Game Crashes randomly without any message. And no, its not the Driver (i tested different drivers even some modded) its definitely the game. If i start it with "Fastest" option it doesnt crash. Pls Optimize for AMD Users. Thx

Just had another crash a few minutes ago and the logs have been sent with the ticket.

Ticket Ref: 22291 if you want to look at it
it can not be the memory. Ive got 16gb, never used more that 6gb. (Memtest says, all 4 Modules are good) The "Random Crash" Issue is only happening on AMD Cards. I repeat, its not the driver. Edit: Setting down Quality to fastest, fixes it. Ingame i can setup Quality to 5 without crashes

Ticket Ref: 22291 if you want to look at it
FYI Orkel is a forum mod and is not a Rust developer. Green means forum mod, light blue means FP staff. Occasionally this is not always true (MaxOfS2D was given mod status while he was employed at FP and had a green name), but it's reliable enough. That doesn't change anything about sending logs in, just general info. And gold members like me are neither mods or staff, just regular users with bigger avatars and access to a few extra subforums that are really nothing special.

I didnt do a dxdiag, but I put my system specs. Please let me/us know if Dev team needs any specific testing ie: certain/specific graphics settings. Thanks.
