So many retarded 'tips' in this thread.
If the guy is really close > Full auto and pull down really hard on your mouse
If the guy is max range > Single shots, don't listen to these other guys and go for chest shots, always aim for the head no matter what. Don't wait to shoot, the moment you ADS (Aim down sights) and get the cross hair over their head area, shoot immediately because sway won't have kicked in.
To practice your reflexes/aim, go and buy CSGO (was like $5 on steam not long ago) and download a map called Training_Aim_map. Practice on that for 30-60 minutes, then get another aim training map that has bots. Do 500 bots 2 times a day, 150 with M4, 150 with AK, 50 Awp, 50 P250, 50 Glock, 50 P2K.
Then finally, jump in a deathmatch server, and at all times only go for headshots. If you can do that, you'll absolutely WRECK anyone that isn't aimbotting in rust.
I gotta say the worst aspect of this game is the gunplay. Nothing but absurd + random recoil and overemphasis on trying to aim at someones head. After putting in some hours on pve servers to shoot animals and learn the guns i can only reccomend to not play until they fix the alpha. I'm talking about hitboxes, effective ranges (after 60 yards m4 bullets become less then grains of sand, and dont ever put on a suppressor unless you only plan to shoot no further then 20 ft), and jerking recoil that unrealistically thrashes the view every which way... Still expecting to see it kick downward Lol
Pull down your mouse when spraying. Pretty basic fps tactic but has not been said yet surprisingly.
This ^
When you get used to your mouse sensitivity when doing this you will find your accuracy gets WAY better.
this, all the guns have pretty hefty recoil so trigger discipline is a must if you want to hit anything more than 5-10 metres away
That and unless you have tonnes of ammo to waste and have no issue constantly crafting more and more, spraying your rounds is not very practical unless in emergencies.
