• Rust streamer caught with no recoil on his own stream

Fine I'll go through all the fucking dev-pages of the old rust official website for you people. 1) I found proof that silencers don't influence recoil. Page 11 of 18, Friday Changelog "Removed recoil bonus from silencer". I know it's not something we're talking about now but it was mentioned earlier and it's a common misconception so I might as well address it while I dig through the dev changes. Sigh I went through all the pages but I haven't been able to find a quote that states that horizontal recoil (on M4) is not a pattern that can be memorized by muscle memory/practice. I'm still quite sure I've read it a while back but yeah.. what can I say, I apologize for not being able to provide you the source. When I do I'll come back to it I guess. Furthermore, if you guys are so sure that there is a pattern/something that enables you to counter-act horizontal recoil by muscle memory, be so kind to provide evidence. I'm getting slightly tired by you guys telling my arguments suck because I provide no evidence because at the same time, neither do you. Leon you tell me to provide you with that randomization valuable (that only the dev team has, it ain't public, they just said it's random, or at least I'm quite sure I've read that, shame that I can't find it currently) to support my statements but you never gave me anything that shows I'm wrong either. Edit: What someone could do it spray an M4 on a wood wall tower a few times and see if the horizontal recoil is different every time.. I think there's already some videos on it, not sure though (CS:GO for example has plenty of videos of people showcasing the different guns by also showing the recoil patterns on walls and how to counter-act those effectively by learning these patterns). Would this be evidence enough you can't control horizontal recoil on an M4 by muscle memorizing the pattern?

What I find annoying, is how many people accuse others as a matter of fact, even though they have no evidence to satisfy burden of proof. I have never watched Grimmy, and he is essentially a random faceless guy to me. The video provided can be seen as fishy, but I see absolutely nothing suggesting blatant cheats. Maybe he is cheating - I do not know. But I also empathize with the situation, because the guy is being treated like shit, even though not a single person has come forth with any tangible proof.

I definitely didn't and the only knowledge I had was from playing lots of battlefield servers. My muscle memory on sprays is entirely from CS and CS:GO
(sorry for kind of putting words in your mouth Grimmy) When people make wild accusations they should be giving evidence to back it up. thus is an argument. You can say He could have this, or he could have that. If you're going to say he PROBABLY this, or he PROBABLY that, then have something to back your opinion up. The evidence we need to back up our arguments are posted as videos by GrimmyBear in which he controls his recoil. Other than his own evidence, and tearing apart this short excerpt, there is no video proof we can use to back up our opinions because all videos are on lock down until Twitch.tv give him his channel back. When he gets his channel back there still wont be undeniable proof, because someone somewhere would believe what they want regardless of any information to contradict their opinions. Example: You cannot prove to me that you have two hands. you can say that you have two hands, you can take a picture of your hands, but who knows if you took a picture of someone else. or maybe you photo shopped an extra hand in to the picture. Is that off topic? Absolutely, but I only say it to show that no matter how solid you think an argument is there is still going to be someone to say, "what if" Back on topic: If GrimmyBear was caught actually cheating why did he only no-recoil for 2 bursts while relatively safe within his house, only to then go out and face them afterwards in the field? That doesn't add up. If it was because he got sick of dying, as someone mentioned a few pages ago, and decided to use a hack, then how come he didn't use this hack previously when ever he got aggravated? Anyone who plays Rust knows how aggravating it can get, and yet he doesn't look upset at all, just in the zone. If he has hack why would he need to be so concentrated? Someone also sated earlier that he could be moving his mouse to simulate the no-recoil... Think about that for a second. instead of using in game recoil he is going to get a cheat that cancels out recoil, only so that he can make his own recoil? that sounds like a lot of work for results that would be similar to controlling the recoil in the first place. Please note that most of (if not all) this is purely speculation. I have no "proof" that Grimmy didn't download a hack to his computer/mouse in order to use it for 10 seconds.
Alright guys. I get what you're saying.. It still doesn't change I do actually believe the video gives pretty clear view of blatant no recoiling but yeah I'll respect your opinions that you're not convinced. As a matter of fact I watched the video again (hadn't actually rewatched in a few weeks). I'm still certain. There's something else that caught my eye actually making it easier for me to judge and maybe it might help you guys. I know most people have made their mind up about the video and so did I but before rewatching I was truly open to reconsideration, you'd have to trust me on my word there and I didn't know the GrimmyBear before watching the video so I can assure you I didn't have a personal vendetta against him. If you don't feel like reading another analysis by a guy who's sure it's cheating then skip the rest of this post. So most people focus on the red dot watching this video but it's tough to see much because of all the wood dust popping up because he's hitting the window frame. I ask you guys to focus on the iron parts of his holosight around the red dot and watch at how moves relative to the window frame and the surroundings/rocks outside his base. There is very slight movements coming from his mouse because he's trying to adjust his aim to where his enemies are walking but do you agree with me that the vertical AND horizontal movement of his scope relative to the rest that's on his screen is extremely minimal? If you watch other videos of pros or non pros, doesn't really matter too much, you surely see the enormous difference right? If you're controlling the M4 recoil you will see a movement made by the gun and it being counteracted by the player in succession to each other, not the two movements coinciding making them seem non-existant, that would ask for reflexes faster than the framerate of the video which is not possible to do for humans. This is probably the last thing I'm saying about this topic on this thread. It's been long enough now.

The fact that you said "Minimal" instead of saying it didn't move means that it wasn't No-recoil. I put my mouse on 0:26 and watched to 0:28 a few times, and this is what I saw; the 1st shot kicked right, and the second or third shot went back to the left, the fourth shot kicked right again. this is also visible at 0:44 to 0:48. You want a better test of the second "burst"? -Pause the video and click progress bar to 0:58, -Double tap space bar a couple times until he is about to take the first of his last 7 shots, -Put your mouse over the windowsill right up against the metal bar to his right, -(Assuming that space bar plays and pauses video) hit space to watch the last 7 shots. If he was no-recoiling then your mouse should stay, extremely close to that spot since he doesn't move his body very much (after repositioning due to the first 4 shots hitting the window/bars hit-box). Thanks for suggesting watching elsewhere in the video, it help in finding this trick. Hopefully it helps you out. Ill link it again so you don't have to go back to the 1st page: Edit: I just did it again starting at 0:59 works a little better. You can see the mouse bounce above/below the windowsill pretty good! someone get a Twitch admin in here I think I cracked the case! :)

The horizontal movement you claim to see is nowhere near as big of a movement that would represent how an M4 kicks left and right in a normal situation. Again, compare it to other videos and you'll see a distinct difference. The movement you're seeing at 0:59 is not the gun bouncing up and down due to standard recoil, it's the holosight making a zoom-in motion and a zoom-out motion, as if it's pushed forward and backwards, it's kickback of the gun. Even though this might look like recoil, it is definitely not. It's nowhere close to anything you can see in any other video and you still don't see a single heap of horizontal recoil, can you explain that to me? Seriously Lisome, watch videos of other professionals using the M4, SURELY you must find a huge, no, enormous difference?? ....

The gun bouncing does NOT move the whole screen. Whilst I go look up videos of "professionals" (I'll put the definition of that word aside for now) maybe you can go look at what actual No-recoil looks like. The screen doesn't move when no-recoiling. Only gun bounce. But if you did what I suggested you'd see that the screen does, in fact, move. You say that it only moves because he moves his body? The amount that he would move would be more that that if he just tapped a WASorD. Even if it was that much you're suggesting that while aiming he is tapping A and D tiny bits back and forth while tring to aim to kill someone?

Nothing that comes even close to the bigger movements that would be caused by actual recoil.

So we can agree that gun bounce, in general, does not move the screen? No-recoil wont eliminate gun bounce. No-recoil makes the screen stay completely still. Are these true facts? I went through his second kill(?) shot by shot, frame by frame, at 0:58, (referencing the 90 degree angle that is the metal window bars meeting the windowsill) and this is what I saw: 1st shot kicks left and barely up, he brings his aim down and right while the 2nd shot kicks up, to make a bit of a circle. the next 2 shots are kicked off to the right. He either moves backwards a hair or pulls down, hence the windowsill hits. 5 is not a window hit because it kicked up and a little right from shot 4 and he hits the sill again on 6 that you can see barely move up before he takes shot 7 while walking backwards. again, keeping in mind that I referenced these shots from the window. NOT from his gun. Okay, the movements don't seem like much. Maybe it's due to his proximity to the wall(speculation on game mechanics) if you aren't willing to believe he can control his recoil. If these are just adjustments and not recoil then why is he so sporadic about them? It wouldn't make sense for him to correct up left then down again to shoot, or adjust left then back to the right in order to shoot while adjusting up at the same time. In full speed I am only fast enough to play and pause after 2 or 3 shots, but you can still see that his aim moves in a sporadic fashion, But the movements and corrections are easier to see in slow-mo. This is pretty similar to what GrimmyBear states in his dailymotion video that is in response to this clip made by Trausi.

We are having this debate because we wish to, and i would guess in many cases enjoy it to a greater or lesser extent. And just as a heads up the "He's using a (Fill in blank)" over and over and over has not worked for Falxhor yet, why not try a different tactic?
1) Just because you stream doesn't prove you dont cheat. 2) Showing another video that shows process still doesn't prove the video provided initially didnt have auto hot key. Alls it shows is the video you recorded didnt have auto hot key running as we know. There are ways to hide processes from showing up in the process list. Not to mention there are other ways to run the program while ingame without anyone knowing. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+hide+processes+in+windows 3) Using Overlays is a common way people cheat while streaming. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+use+an+overlay+to+cheat+on+stream We know you cheat. Get Over It.
point 1: I agree with you. All I said was I don't and that I loved streaming so I wouldn't do something so stupid. point 2: Also agreed, it doesn't prove anything fully it's just the best that I can do given the situation. If you choose to believe that I am a master hacker that goes through the trouble to download programs to hide processes and not show programs running that's not my problem. (although it's ridiculous and I think your tin foil hat may be bigger than falxhor's) point 3: what good would an overlay do for an autohotkey script? I don't have anything except for a webcam on my stream anyway. sorry to disappoint you, new found conspiracy theorist, but I wasn't and have never cheated in rust.

You got something to lose if you get caught which is exactly what happened, your twitch got banned, it's quite logical to me that someone like you really WOULD go through all that effort. You say someone like you doesn't have motives to cheat because you have been good at games that take more time and effort to get good at than Rust. To be honest, yes, I don't think it makes sense for you to cheat because you don't really have a motive other than "wanting to win at Rust" but obviously you've won at harder games playing fairly, it really is strange. This doesn't change that there's a video of you cheating though, I don't know why you did, I can't look inside your head and find the answers, but you still did it. You cheated on stream, got caught and there's nothing you can do to undo that, get over it.
We know you cheat. Get Over It.
you are late, you have offered nothing new, and you want this thread to stop being bumped. stop posting. simple.

Now I know why 99% of this community is just script kiddie hackers, because it's so simple to do! Hell, I'm going to start using macros now. Thank's for all the help guys! Cya on the cheating side!

Well well, Seems Twitch got something right and stopped listening to sheep. Glad it was cleared for you Grim. Though from here on I would recommend to play a little worse than your max potential so they have less to throw at you, If you have to make mistakes on purpose so they have no leg to stand on. Make no mistake, the rabid hate slingers are seething and will have targets focused on you because they cant handle loss.
you are entitled to your opinion. I wish this trausi guy would have posted more of the highlight instead of one particular point (he didn't because in the rest of the video you can see my recoil hitting bars and missing my shots half as much as they hit). This small clip that is poorly edited and quality ruined is not a good indicator of anything, however when you watch it in full screen 720p you can see the recticle moving while I shoot.
It is clear as day you are hacking your ass off bro. The m4 has absolutely terrible recoil and you have 0. How can you defend this? lol it's like someone getting caught on camera robbing someone and denying it still. And you say u had recoil control...You're shooting in full auto. There's no control when you're in full auto dude. It's going to go up whether u want it to or not
just for it to be on the new page too, grimmybear's twitch was unbanned. the rest comes down to everyone's personal opinion, but i think this thread can die peacefully now:) RIP 9 pages and 321 comments of subjective opinions. you will be missed;)

So now im taking a moment to rub your nose in it, you showed no one here the level of civility you where given, so i see no reason to keep showing any to you. Sheep? The first thing i did was watch the vid and read comments, i posted my thoughts on the matter, then i remained here defending my point. You on many occasions used other peoples opinions as a justification of your own and provided very little "evidence" of your own. Yes, you are a sheep. Not to say all sheep are bad, after all they rarely have the capacity to think for themselves. They just need better leaders.
