You say hosting is limited yet you don't host a single server for rust to date and again I can not find anything about rust hosting on the website. I have sent a contact to inquire about rust hosting to the website and several hours later I STILL have yet to receive a reply.
If this is the future of the state of doing business with your company I would say there is a LOT to be desired.

He's currently hosting 5 servers on the server list right now. He even said that if the link doesn't work, then he's out of stock.
Rust itself is in alpha, as well as the hosting that is going with it, is in beginning stages.
If you actuallly did some research on Elpis Host, you'll see that he is competent and has been running it very well for a long time, but since you couldn't have a server that's high in demand this second, you got pissy.
Be patient.

fuck off, elpis is king, you're just being an impatient asshole.
there is definitely an issue with log in. I leased a server, it is in the list (Bandage Bandits) But I and 2 other clan mates can not log in. We have 32 people on the server so obviously not everyone is having the same issue. Further more I can not connect to the control panel via the link emailed to me in the welcome email. Im patient, I know Tyler is working on many orders.

Was just on your server, runs nice. You keeping it up beyond a month?
BTW how did you order it, link was just for Garrys mod and couple other games.
I've added two more to New York.

They paid for the server and they will do what they want with it. Don't like it? Don't play on it.
rCon is already implemented into the game with the ability to tp, give items to players and other things. Coming in this thread and bitching about back-end features that the FP Team implemented into the game makes you look foolish. If you don't like that you can play on the many Official Servers that wont have your so called "issue". For me and other Players and Community Members having rCon and back-end capabilities opens the door for many things. For example, a Survival Games type server or mini-Games you make for the players on your server to play with etc.
tl;dr Play on the official servers and stay away from player owned servers and you wont have any issues with bad admins etc.

This happens to my friend as well... I can connect to Khaos Zone just fine. And btw this server is one of the best I have tried. No lag what so ever... Only one disconnect last evening.
But how can i get my friend to connect? When he tries it say "connecting" and then he returns to server list... We have reinstalled Rust but that didnt help. The same thing happens for him on server Central Europe By Playrust

I selected 'Dallas' as the hosted location. When I get some time later, I'll see if I can change the server name to include something that indicates its location.

$25\mo is incredibly reasonable. It has nothing to do with the status of the game. Whether alpha or beta or production -- there are real resources, computers, bandwidth, support personnel, etc. that cost real money, regardless of the status of the game.
As to your second point, my guess is because Garry and FP would prefer that the server binaries not be publicly available yet.
I for one would love to be able to self host a LAN game. I'm hoping FP and/or the hosting providers will provide some way to create a whitelist so I could make my server 'invite only'. I am not holding my breath.

Garry: This is an issue we're debating right now. We do want people to host their own servers.. but we don't really want you to be joining servers with admins and their friends running around owning everything.. which is kind of inevitable.

I would take issue with the 'kind of inevitable.' For any admins running any servers that want to have a vibrant, interactive community, that won't happen. If you don't like the server, go to a different one where that isn't happening.
I would also say that with there still being a dupe issue, people are running around owning everything.

They want the community to make the game this can only be done if admins are allowed to create buildings and environments freely. Like buliding admin owned buildings with loot that is there to be raided or admins creating little towns and arenas where heavy pvp action can take place
I've enabled the ability to run your own server updates for rust with "steam update". Other changes coming soon along with more information on stock.

It's still basic on our end. Start/stop and FTP with the option to update your servers. RCON will eventually become available however.

Every location on the order page is out of stock, so it won't be possible to setup your server right now. However, feel free to order again once stock becomes available!
